I peeled, chopped and steamed some very ropey carrots last night and added some leftover tomatoes and some veggie stock and then added a tin of soup. I think the soup was Thai veggie curry flavour and it made two big portions stretched out like that. I had one portion with a buttered baguette and then had a white chocolate protein bar afterwards.
I have only had two cups of tea this morning so far. I am going to have some toast after my bath. I have a workman coming round this morning to fit the kitchen door.2025 GOALS

Sunny start, but cold with heating on againDef some sort of soup / casserole something or other with the LO chicken & the mushrooms, plus ropey carrots & too much celery, all begging to be turned into something warming. I had to bin the broccoli, it blossomed before I got round to eating itThe bloke arrived yesterday to sort my lounge door, and prove, yet again, there are nice people aroundI asked on FB for recommends, and he said he could do it, what I had not fully appreciated was he meant, for free, gratis, doing someone a favour. He did say he nearly never came because he has confidence problems after a breakdown years ago.Good job he overcame that, he's done a good job and now the door closes in time for winterI did give him a tenner for petrol, he would not take moreLunch, something warming, maybe scrambled eggs on toast?Dinner, assuming I make this chicken thing, it's that. I think I'll do it in a low oven and warm the kitchen up at the same timeEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Hello Wednesday
Sounds like a decent guy Farway and probably good for his confidence..
Overcast and chilly here today.
Off to my sister's tonight for dinner but apart from that another day of admin stuff. HM Scotch broth for lunch.
Hector's winter waterproof arrived, he seems to quite like them. Hopefully it will cut down on how saturated he gets, he's like an unwrung floor mop at times after his walk!

That was nice of him Farway.
Did you always have a dog Caronc or is he new? Very cute.:)
I'm going to have the soup leftovers for lunch. I forgot to take the end of the baguette out of the freezer to defrost and I can't get into the kitchen as the guy is now here doing the door. I might have to make toast as I can't have soup without some type of bread!2025 GOALS

Nice steady wfh day today. Another sunny one so load of towels line dried (simple pleasures 😊). Finished on time so some voluntary admin and a bit of food prep before swimming this evening.
Made egg fried rice with yellow pepper, sugar snaps and cashew nuts for lunch. Beans with toast for early tea. Apple, grapes and cheese whilst watching Bake Off - could have been worse 😅0 -
Hector is looking very smart Caronc
I imagine in your part of the world a good raincoat is essential, I hope your son has one as well?
That was very kind of him Farway, FB can bring out the best of people of some people 🙂
My nephew's baby isn't at all well at the moment, she went into the local hospital by ambulance in the night and was moved down to Southampton this afternoon which is about 60 miles away, luckily the hospital provided a room near her and a food voucher for her parents. I've a sister who lives near to Southampton who will offer local support if needed as she is a lot closer than us or my nephew's future in-laws.Food was minestrone soup for lunch and oxtail stew and from the freezer braised red cabbage and root veg mash.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope baby improves quickly Brambling, great the parents have some local support. Yes waterproofs all round are must here in the winter!
Wednesday, Hector is DS2's dog, I'm his "Gran" lol
Wet and windy here today but supposed to dry up later.
I'm pooch sitting my sister's dog and Hector so not expecting to get much done though need to make the base for a cottage pie for tonight's dinner. The mash is in the freezer, ready to pop on the top as I froze it in the shape needed for the dish I'm going to use. We'll have the pie with peas, green beans and extra gravy. HM soup again for lunch.

Hector looks a cutie Caron, be hard to stay annoyed with him for long.Hope the baby gets better soon Brambling, very worrying, especially with the parents being so far from the hospitalSunny ish today, at least it's dry. Into town for Mark's mooching. Needed bread & milk, but the rest was YS mooching, nothing that appealed this time round, jar of Mark's strawberry jam just to try it out but left the crumpets on the shelf after much temptationI did spot a massive yummy steak, nearly £6, maybe Christmastime once visiting veggie relatives is over?Lunch was some of the cheapo cooking bacon in BLT sarnieDinner, last of the cheapo cooking bacon, which is a big thick rasher gammon style, with HM AF chips, fried eggs, last of the mushrooms & open tin of beans.I tried the Asda Essential baked beans BTW, seem OK to me, plenty of beans when I was expecting a lot of juice to make up the weight, I'd buy againPS, first lot of fuel refund cash has arrived in my bank, passed on to me by British GasEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
