Dull morning, supposed to be sunny, another lie
A bit of a disturbed night with my gout, I think today will mainly be a lolling about feeling sorry for myself day :'(

Sorry the gout has returned Farway I think I read that it could get worst before it got better on those tablets :/ my brother and sister both take them and i'm told they do eventually work   :)

That's what I read, I know years back it worked, just a case of getting through this patch really

Update from Asda, some items OOS and will be subbed, nothing important, items like tomato purée and a casserole mix, except the Essentials choccy biscuit bars I was going to try are also OOS, wonder what I'll get instead? These days part of the thrill of shopping online is seeing what turns up, like a Lucky Dip :)

Skipped breakfast, Just didn't fancy it,
Lunch, maybe open a tin of cheapo soup, cheap & warming at least on the is grey day
Dinner, maybe another tin of soup or nuke a frozen Chinese MFO sweet & sour

    Good morning everyone,
Hope the gout eases soon Farway.
I'm contemplating a floor to ceiling curtain for my front door, not so much for the door but for the single glazed window above it. I'm not generally a curtain fan the rest of the house is blinds only but needs must if I can find one or see fabric I like. If I can't find ready made DIL-to-be has offered to make one.
Grey and very wet here this morning. I'm glad I made a big pan of chicken, veg and rice soup yesterday. A bowl of that for lunch will hit the spot nicely. My sis is now COVID clear so her and my nephew are coming for dinner tonight. I'm making sticky chicken wings, wedges and salad
  • Two productive days in a row! Home day today and got everything except one planned task done…inevitably did a few others so pleased with that.

Lunch was some of the spicy root veg and lentil stew with toasted pitta, posh fishfinger and pickled gherkin wrap tonight. Was supposed to be swimming but felt knocked around by a dentist visit so have had an evening on the sofa 😊

Hopefully you didn't have a too painful day Farway

It was a relatively quiet work day, no meetings does help and just the one call  :) my nephew came around today to do some work for me in the garden (I needed the muscle and he needs the cash) weather permitting he'll come back to finish it tomorrow.

I made us sausage sandwiches for lunch.  Dinner was a prawn, fennel and spinach risotto with broccoli and runner beans

A much better night, slept right though to 0530 when bathroom called. My gout is still there, foot still swollen etc, but much less painful walking hobbling. I'm going to have to get a lift to my dentist tomorrow, can't see me being able to work a clutch or brake in emergency, luckily I have a volunteer driver

Asda delivery arrived on time, one OOS item, cheapo crisps, I have heard the pickers no longer have discretion on subs, once upon a time cheapo would just move up a range regardless of price, I can't believe there are no crisps in Asda, not Walkers or whoever, there's a whole aisle of the things last time I looked

Four subs, which I sent back, the choc bars were subbed with Fox's, very nice but not good value for something I was only sampling anyway. The casserole mixes were just subbed with shepherds pie mixes, I don't need those, and the tom purée subbed with a tin of chopped toms, useful but not ideal for a squirting into something

Looking darker out there with rotten weather forecast, and I think they're right this time, wind's getting up as well

Caron, I've also been pondering about a curtain for my lobby door, the one that currently won't shut properly, mine would solve two problems, the low evening sun shining into my eyes and thermal isolation, not checked dimensions or anything advanced, just at "thinking about it" stage so far

Food today, now fully replenished fridge & cupboards and feeling better regarding gout and standing in kitchen I have to think about food

I may have HM burger for lunch
And maybe same again with HM AF chips and a bit of salad for dinner

    Good morning everyone,
It was good to see my sister and nephew last night. Sis now testing negative but still feeling very tired but was glad to get out of the house. It wasn't a late one, they were home by 9pm.
Another manky day weather wise here, I've no intention of going further than the bin and have plenty of indoor jobs to keep me out of mischief!
Soup again for lunch. Dinner will be Ikea meatballs, mash, carrots, green beans and cream gravy.

I took down a front door curtain when I moved in, partly due to a demonic kitten who would climb it and go over the top (not his lordship 🙂) but I'm now thinking of putting one back as well as one at my back door which is in the dining room with a cat flap🤔

my greenhouse was delivered today just after 9am the guy had driven down from Stoke and had already dropped off at Eastbourne, he must have driven half the night. Now I'm like a kid given a new toy at Christmas with no batteries as they can't put it up until the 24th  :|

My new work laptop is throwing up a error which according to IT means I could get locked out of company servers  :# I have to go into the office tomorrow morning as although he will fix it remotely it can't be done at home

lunch was celery soup from the freezer. Dinner was a cba scrambled egg on a toasted muffin

  • You sound like me with my shed a couple of months ago, Brambling, the most excitement I’d had in years 😂

Made it past the halfway mark, still not desperately feeling it at the moment but I’ll keep plodding. Out to my regular offsite meeting this morning, which dragged on so it was nearly 2 before I had lunch and then had an online meeting at 3. Quick toasted bagel with avocado, bacon and fried egg 😋

Made it to swimming tonight so dinner was a reheat of the LO chicken, leek and bean traybake, with some freshly cooked broccoli when I got in. Watched the last episode of Inside Man, not convinced…

Ooh, no, well spotted. I was slightly relaxed this year now I have a recurring fortnightly mid-week slot at Asda, but I have to check it falls on Christmas week. I suppose it's nice to have a choice, though. Good idea reserving with booze, I'll nick that one
UPDATE, the closer dates are fully booked now, however I've booked for Wed 21st morning, reserved with very expensive dark rum, should my Asda slot not fall that week then I'm covered now

Sunny day, my gout is easing, and now I'm just limping, which is just as well because it's dentist day, and collect a prescription while I'm out, being driven though, be too risky to attempt using car pedals, but I think if I had to I could

Lunch, have to skip it due to being in the Dentist chair at that time, had filling porridge breakfast so no rumbling tum
Dinner, maybe another HM burger with HM AF chips & salad, yesterdays was just the job so a rinse & repeat is fine
