A lovely sunny day here it was just a shame I had to work
which started with a 8am email and call with our developers trying to do something we agreed they wouldn't 🙄 it took a over 90 mins to get them to agree that we had discussed this a couple of weeks ago. There were only two of us working and my colleague won't make decisions so it was all on me as the manager was driving back across Europe. The day did get better but we didn't finish until after 6pm. I'm sure someone will have something to say about it on Monday although I will have calmed down by then!
Late lunch of cheese, crackers and apple grabbed after a call. Dinner breaded haddock, chips and frozen veg. I watched strictly with a large G&TLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Another lovely sunny day with blue sky, must be chilly though because my heating clicked in earlierHopefully my stuck lounge door will get unstuck soon, asked on local FB and contacted someone who said yes can do, we'll see, it's one of those jobs hardly monetary worthwhile a trades man/woman getting tools out of the van for, not like getting stuck into a full day or even a morning's work, an hours work tops for any one knowing their tradeOnly task today is watering the pots at the front, despite the recent rain they are drying out againMeals, use up the last of the rolls for lunch, with cheese & sliced onion fillingDinner, some of the LO roast chicken, with carrots & broccoli and probably mash because the spud variety I have just doesn't "chip" well so expect it will not be a good roaster either. + Asda chick gravy granulesI may venture into HM chicken & mushroom soup this coming week, with the carcass & I have some mushrooms, and weather is getting suitable, we shall see, no one hold their breath

Good morning everyone,
Hector got very muddy yesterday, he had to have a double bath afterwards. The water from the first one looked like squid ink!
Greenhouse has been emptied just the growing tubs to be emptied once there's some room in the compost bins. There's two mixing bowls full of partially ripe and green tomatoes to sort out.
Back to manky weather today, I plan to spend most of day pottering in the kitchen.
Roast rolled 1/2 shoulder of lamb with parsnips, carrots, roasties, tenderstem and gravy for dinner.

Another absolutely stunning day, October has been great so far (which is helping with the energy bills as well as making me feel better). Bed stripped this morning and two loads line dried. Also did the ironing and some dusting.
Out to a street arts festival in town this afternoon, always great fun and the weather just made it 🌞. It’s not been on for a couple of years for obvious reasons, and was then rescheduled this year due to a high profile death, and there were definitely less people around than in previous years.
Had lovely lunch in a newly opened independent cafe - Lebanese lamb flatbread, tabbouleh and whipped feta. Much better than the fast food on offer from the various stalls and, as my friend said, a chance for a sit down 😂
Made sweet potato, chorizo and spinach traybake with lemon aioli and soft boiled egg tonight 😋. Roasted some butternut squash for packed lunches whilst the oven was on.
Caught up with the Strictly results and will watch Karen Pirie shortly (highly recommended).1 -
Good finish for Karen Pirie JKSTired enough this morning to have a bit of a lay in which left me a bit headachy today, do a lazy pottering day for me with some cooking.I made a batch of minestrone soup for lunches this week and had a portion for lunch today 😋 I also cooked some oxtail in the pressure cooker a little too much liquid so more soup than stew🙄 I'm cooling it in the fridge to skim the fat tomorrow it may end up all on the freezer.Dinner was sausage and mash with runner beans and Savoy cabbageLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was just a manky day weather wise from start to finish. It's dry and much brighter this morning but decidedly chilly. I think the time to have the heating on for a bit in the morning has come.
Finally sorted out the apples I've quartered and open froze about 1/3 of them and stewed the rest. It didn't take long once I got down to it.
Just enjoying a cuppa before making a pan of Scotch broth, then it's head down for a few hours of voluntary admin. The soup won't be ready for lunch today but there's LOs from dinner yesterday so will use those up. Refried bean tacos for dinner - DS2 is in charge.

I haven't been on here for ages. I will be mostly cooking for one for the next couple of weeks because of the shift my husband is working.
I did a fridge and freezer sort out last night. I realised I have run out of bread so I had a very unhealthy brunch today of hash browns that I forgot I had in the freezer. Yesterday was beautiful weather and we walked to the beach. It felt like summer, not October. It has been raining today and feels more chilly and I so am going to try out my heated throw this evening on the sofa.:)

Long day today, away day at a hotel, which meant a nice lunch 😉 (lasagne and profiteroles). Poached eggs and mushrooms on toast for tea.0 -
I might look out for the books as well JKS i have read some of her Wire in the Blood ones but none of her Karen Pirie
A damp start to the day which turned out very nice, currently there is a lovely big moon shining through the kitchen window
A busy day work wise with the expected 'post-mortem' from Saturday's issues 🙄
lunch was a portion of minestrone soup, I realised I missed the canned beans I usually add, it still tastes lovely 😋
im currently ignoring the oxtail I cooked yesterday other than skimming the fat from the top having cooked it I went off of the idea so it will probably be frozen until it is colder. Dinner was JO sweet n sour pork with peaches which is served with udon noodles and some stirfry vegLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
