Gosh Brambling, worrying about the baby, hope she gets better soon. Difficult with the distance involved, you sort of feel helpless when you can’t just go and help easily.
Two long offsite meetings today. Took healthy packed lunch (French inspired lentils, roasted butternut and feta salad) but have had a pastry, a cookie and a few Heroes during the day 😬
Tried to redeem things with hoisin tuna steak, stir fried veg and noodles tonight…0 -
Unfortunately the baby is still in paediatric intensive care bringing her out of sedation this afternoon caused her heart rate to drop which meant alarms and lots of medical staff running before they put her back under. It seems that it's expected as they panic because of the breathing tube, unfortunately no one warned mum that it may happen.
No cooking for me today lunch was cheese and crackers after a flying visit to Lidl for bananas (T express are now 27p each) I noticed a lot of empty shelves whilst they were putting out Christmas stuff, I brought a small stollen to taste test for research purposes
Dinner LO sweet n sour pork with udon noodlesLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Fingers crossed that baby has improved today Brambling. hope there are no more frights for her parents.
I'm hoping for a calmer day today as Hector was h*ll on wheels yesterday. Over tired and over excited with his BFF being here I think!! So far so good.
Very chilly and bright here, DS2 had to scrape the car.
Not much planned apart from admin and domestics though there's ripe tomatoes needing roasted. Probably the last decent batch of them but I've a reasonable freezer stash now.
Last of the soup for lunch and yoghurt chicken curry for dinner.0 -
Overnight rain but bright nowThanks Brambling for taking the Stollen hit for the CFO crewOff to volunteer AGM this afternoon, and collect my prescription while I'm out, apart from that nothing else planned, which suits me just fineTrying to complete my Asda online shop, but as quick as I add something it goes OOS, bet if added sirloin steak there would be loads of thatMeals today are Cheese & Onion flavoured. I've reached use up & clear out fridge meal phase nowLunch, Asda Essentials C & O pasty, I may just warm it up a tad in the AFDinner, LO cold half C & O flan, with HM AF chips, nuked use up LO beans, if it looks a bit forlorn on the plate I may add some salad bitsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Hope there’s better news soon, Brambling.
Office day today. Felt a bit like a Friday before a bank holiday or Christmas Eve first thing, the amount of random minor crises that were popping up…calmed down a bit but can never do proper concentrating tasks in there these days so did quite a bit of catching up with folk and some menial tasks 😉
Lunch was the rest of the lentil, butternut and feta salad. Made a naan bread pizza tonight with all sorts of odds and sods from the fridge as toppings - artichoke hearts, chorizo, mushroom, yellow pepper, even a bit of the never ending chimichurri! Served with posh (bought) coleslaw and salad.
In bed with hot water bottle and a cuppa, about to watch third episode of The Walk-In. Disturbing but excellent so far.0 -
No change with the baby today, luckily her heart hasn't stopped again. She's a fighter but the disadvantage with that is she is according to the doctors 'too feisty' as she is fighting the breathing tube so is still heavily sedated, it will probably be the weekend at least if there are no complications before they can remove the tube.
My other nephew came around this afternoon to do some heavy stuff for me in the garden and bring me a slice of warm from the oven brownie
lunch was some pea soup from the freezer. Dinner omelette, chips and runner beansLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
A very dull looking morning outside, not enticing at all, wrap up warm with cuppa & biscuit weather reallyNothing planned for the day, may attempt, yet again, to finish off my Asda list, but that's about itFood today, I fancy grilled corned beef on toast for lunch, maybe topped with an egg, warming comfort foodDinner, luckily I have matured LO chicken & mushroom stew + dumpling in the fridge, so will nuke that for dinnerEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
I do hope baby is improving Brambling, poor wee mite and poor parents.
Tesco due soon and then it's back to my voluntary admin accounts - anyone fancy categorising a year's worth of petty cash receipts for me?
LO curry for lunch and my usual Friday freezer rake for dinner.0
