    Good morning everyone,
Heating been on for an hour the last two mornings, we managed to mid-October without it last year but needs must.
Yeah heading to porridge weather, I'm not a fan of sweet porridge but DS2 has a bowl with jam most days.
Sis is still feeling quite poorly but so far the rest of us are still negative. I reckon if we are fine by the weekend we've somehow managed to avoid catching it.
Managed to pretty much catch up with the voluntary admin yesterday but apart from some laundry didn't get much else done. Never mind the dust isn't going anywhere!
Dry but overcast and then I think it's a case of batten down the hatches for a couple of days weatherwise.
Think I'll be joining you on the cheese sarnie option for lunch Farway. Nadiya's chicken, rice and peas traybake for dinner tonight. I also need to roast a batch of tomatoes for the freezer as there were lots ripe when we came back so will do that while the oven is on. Don't think I'll get many more now.

My sister tells me there was a slight frost on her car this morning when she left just after 7am 🥶 I hadn't put my duvet back on the bed, just the cover and a blanket however my arms were cold when I woke up so the duvet has gone back on. No heating needed here yet but I have put my socks back on 🙂

usual busy day at work and just the two of us working tomorrow.  I spent this evening looking for something and found it where I first looked!  I must have been 'man' looking 🙄 at least the drawers are now tidied and stuff thrown away  :) in my defence it wasn't very big, hence the reason it was put away somewhere safe!

Lunch was the last of the pea and ham soup. I made a vegetable and peanut butter 'stew' for dinner I was going to be veggie tonight but found some farm shop sausages in the freezer and fancied them. It was great for clearing out the veg container before the weekend and plenty of LO of course 🙂

Sunny start to the day, heating came on again and glad of it this morning, I think we are also battening hatches down here Caron, load of grotty stuff on its way across from Cornwall, I suppose we'll see tail end of Ian sometime as well over the next week or so

All this sausage talk reminded me I have loads in the freezer, must have been an offer on, as I'm compiling my next Asda order I've popped a pack of sausage casserole mix on it, worth a try for 30p in the S Cooker, not normally a fan of packet mixes, but maybe it'll be something different for a change

With the rain on its way, it's comfort food day, I'm going to use up the pork loin in a sarnie for lunch
Dinner, last of the posh F fingers in AF, with a bucket of mash, use up broccoli and wrinkly carrots. Should give some LOs for another day

Fell asleep reading on here last night 🙄. Another long short week…

Yesterday was more soup for lunch and tuna steak, new potatoes, veg and chimichurri last night.

Off work today but a bit grey, cold and forecast rainy so indoor play I think. Done meal planning and shopping list and have a swim booked. Just about to start on some voluntary admin and there’s washing up and ironing if I get really bored 😂

    Back later

    Good morning everyone,
It's blowing a hooley and lashing with rain, feels blooming chilly too! Hector is not very impressed!
My sis is feeling a bit better today thankfully though still wiped out.
Tesco are due soon and then I need to turn a large tray of roasted tomatoes into passata.
LOs for lunch and dinner will be the usual Friday freezer rake.
  • So my day went pretty much as planned. Did the washing up but not the ironing 😂

Good swim then home for scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Braved the weather to do a food shop and then stayed indoors, it’s been miserable.

Treat tea of burger, oven chips and corn on the cob 😋

I got my washing in lunchtime nearly dry :) the promised heavy rain came a little later than forecasted at 4pm

A nice quiet work day so time to tick off my to do list, my new laptop was delivered today so I will need to go into the office Monday to log on and get IT to set me up remotely. I'll be glad to return the old office spare one to the cupboard

Lunch was beans on toast. Dinner a repeat of yesterday veggie stew and FS sausages. LOs have gone into the freezer

Cool, sunny & breezy this morning. Excitement over already because I've just submitted my meter readings online without any problems

I'm beginning to think the bloke I contacted to rehang my lounge door doesn't want the job, he came over to look about ten days ago but no quote yet, could be one of those too small jobs :/ . Not the end of the world, but my lounge door now has gaps around it where it no longer shuts properly and with winter on the way and energy being the price it is I'd rather not heat the lobby at the expense of the lounge

Finalised my Asda order for next Wed delivery, a bit early maybe but due to the delivery pass rules has to be ordered by Sunday night anyway, but can go in and amend right up until midnight of the day before, but given the recent out-of-stock items I don't think I'd risk that

Yep, a good idea and duly stolen. But with OOD tin of spaghetti, so it's that on toasted stale crusts
Dinner, OOD by one day MFO RM, W8rose chilli con carne that had slipped was hidden at back of the fridge

    Good morning everyone,
I have a carrier bag worth of apples (various types) to do something with. Where we stayed last weekend had a number of apple trees all laden with fruit and there was a large note in the kitchen asking folk to help themselves to as many as possible. I'm thinking batches of simple stewed apples for the freezer to use over coming months.

The weather was absolutely foul yesterday, the wind has died back this morning but the showers are still torrential. DS2 and Hector have gone to meet DS1, DIL-to-be and the boys' Dad a nearby country park for a walk so fingers crossed the rain stays off. I expect Hector will need bathed when they return as he does adore a muddy puddle.

Lunch is tbc possibly a cheese toastie. Cajun Spiced pork belly ribs with baked spuds, corn cobette and salad for dinner.
