    Good morning everyone,
I hope aunt and BIL pull through Brambling.
Bright and sunny here today and due to get into the low twenties, more than warm enough for me!
DS2 and Hector were at the first puppy training class last night. Just four pooches, three pups and an adult rescue dog. DS2 said after initial chaos it went very well.
LO pasta for lunch and I've pork steaks defrosting for dinner. We'll probably have new potatoes and salad with them.

Hot & sunny again, already been out watering the volunteer pots, so it's relax for rest of the day, I'm another one who doesn't "do" heat

Message from dentist, appointment in Sept cancelled, he's gone on holiday and give them a ring, but when I do, I get the "Your call is important to us" so call back later. With the lack of NHS dentists, I'll keep with calling and not tip apple carts over

Also message from Asda, short of lemonade & dishwasher rinse aid, I think I'll manage, and I've ticked OK with subs anyway so having picked the cheapest it'll be interesting to see what turns up, although reading the papers it seems picking the cheapest in its Essential yellow packing is shameful, and I will now be derided by all and sundry and even dogs will slink away as I go by
Honestly, just how shallow some people can be !

Lunch is last of the PB baguettes, with cheese & sliced fresh onion filling
Dinner, use up eggs in cheesy omelette, with use up salad and HM AF chips

  • Phew, hot again! Worked from home so wore my shorts 😀

Lunch was LO carrot, lentil and feta salad. Just had a sort of deli sandwich (gammon, cheese, pickle, salad) for early tea before swimming in a bit 🏊‍♀️

Farway I think it's the press being shallow!

Caronc a old work colleague of mine rescued a 5 year old who had spent 2years in kennels he spent a long long time in basic training she would regale us with stories of training class each week 🙂 he never got the hang of returning to her and when called he once he did then carried on pass her and out the door someone had foolishly left open 😁 he was a WIP for the 10+years she had him

I did some pruning lunchtime, not sure of the shrub as it was inherited from previous owner my Google photos suggested Cotoneaster of some kind but it left me wheezing with a very itchy rash up each arm, after antihistamine didn't fully calm it I excused myself for  15 minutes to change and shower which did help.  I've never reacted to it before (I do to other plants) it seems it can cause skin irritation  :s I thought it had died once and dug it up but it had sent out shoots so is now quiet big again and does spread I think it comes up from the roots

lunch ended up as quick chicken salad sandwich.  Dinner LO new potatoes, cauliflower Added to AF with chopped bacon and onion, with green veg. It turned out very tasty 😋

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds like my sister's pooch Brambling, definitely a WIP lol :D
Bright and sunny here this morning and forecast to be a bit warmer than I like, though nowhere near as high as other parts.
Family round tonight for a bbq, DS1 & DIL-to-be head to Greece this weekend. Keeping it simple - spatchcocked chook plus some salads, spuds and bread. Salad wrap planned for lunch.

Asda delivery arrived & stowed away, Four subs, two OK with posh upgrades, another was a vegan Pukka pie, nothing wrong with it but this weather I really don't fancy a pie, so took the excuse to send it back. The final sub was completely off target, wanted dishwasher rinse aid, got washing up liquid :/

Fridge is back to full again and stuck for choice again
Lunch, I now have too many eggs, so a fried egg sarnie will use one up
Dinner, a CBA nuked MFO macaroni cheese

Among my shopping, a pack of cheapo mini Swiss rolls fell in, tried one and very moreish, won't buy again 'cos they'll not last long once opened

Usual work day although a mess up by our developers meant we all worked until 6.30pm to correct it 🙄 bad words were used 😐

Trip to the breast screening mobile unit lunchtime, in on time (strange 12.46 appointment time) she was a little heavy handed with the plates  :s but all done for 3 years. I did apologise for being so hot and sweaty, the car was reading 32 when I got in as it was sitting direct in midday sun 🌞🥵

lunch was a quick chicken and salad sandwich when I got back.  Dinner more chicken this time with LO veg and gravy, it was nearly 9pm so it was colder

  • A very positive work day, two long meetings but actually got decisions and resolutions to the issues that have been making my life miserable, hurrah!

As it’s my special day, I treated the team to sandwiches and cakes from an old school bakery for lunch, everything was yummy but enormous 😋

Swam this evening in an attempt to work some of it off (plus actually move some limbs having sat down for far too long). More of the gammon with salad, coleslaw and a 🍷 when I got home.

    Good morning everyone,
Gorgeous day here, DS2 has gone fishing and I'm pup sitting. He's hoping to catch some mackerel.
Roofer is here so hoping he can sort the bay window leak out.
I had lovely evening with the family, the weather was perfect for bbqing and it wasn't too midgie.
Bbq LOs for lunch and DS2 is cooking curry tonight.

Morning all, it's baking hot here already, but good news is I've put the garden wheelie bin out and picked a carrier bag full of ripe apples already. These apples are the early eaters that don't keep very well, so I'll be stewing them over the next few days, plus there are some windfalls I need to pick up to add to the pot

I was going to water but after apple picking my back is playing up so left that job for later

One of my Asda deliveries was stewing steak on offer, that has just gone into the freezer with the hot weather continuing over the weekend a stew / casserole is very unlikely

Today's meals are going to be lazy, too hot to cook ones
Lunch, another use up fried egg sarnie
Dinner, A flan / Quiché arrived from Asda, so it's that plus salad & HM AF chips
