Farway I found taking tablets early knocked it on the head quicker, I know what you mean about the side effects of drinking loads of water  :# it's just as well too hot to sleep the amount of time I spend walking the landing  :'(

I worked from 7.30 - 2 today and it was too hot 🥵 not helped by a cat deciding he wanted to be close to me.  I waited until just after 5 to pop to Lidl for milk and a little salad, a few extra things may have made it into the basket, unfortunately luckily there was no ice cream left.

Late lunch was a small portion of dirty rice from the freezer, it was too hot for not food 😐 dinner was a salmon and avocado salad, I picked up some YS cooked salmon in W8itrose £1 instead of £4  :) which I had froze

    Good morning everyone,
Temperature hardly dipped last night so an uncomfortable night. Quite glad that the heat is due to break here this evening, there's a list of things needing done that I just can't find the oomph to contemplate.
I've a chunk of lamb leg defrosting to make kebabs later but apart from that will be lurking in the cool area of the house. LO chicken wings and salad for lunch.

Another hot & sticky night, but I think I was so knackered from the sleepless previous nights I slept for OK mostly, and the early taking gout tablets is definitely working Brambling, just my little finger sore now. I reach my limit tomorrow and that's my stock gone. Once my blood test [Tuesday] results are in, I'll ask the Doc for some standby spares, he's quite a sensible Doc and knows by now I'm not going to take handfuls of drugs

Out watering & picking my blackberries before the heat got going this morning, I may see how my knife holding skills ex gout are later, if OK I'll get on with blackberry & apples stewing

Lunch, I have a couple of stale crusts so toast + something, cheese spread?
Dinner, I really fancy cooking the Coronation chicken thing I bought from Asda, it's breasts with a Coronation cook in sauce, I think it'll be fine cold as well once cooked, the question is can I stand the heat or should I keep out of the kitchen and settle for salad again?

JKS I've another couple of weeks before I've any holiday so it will probably rain then 😁
There’s thunderstorms forecast this week 😂

Lovely meal out last night - fillet of bream with fennel and new potato salad, caper and butter dressing 😋, all washed down with a birthday g&t. Feta and radish salad for lunch.

Not done a great amount either day, too hot. Although it does seem to be cooling down this evening (slowly)…been swimming both days and pottered at the odd chore plus read and caught up with some telly, like being on holiday!

Lunch today was avocado and scrambled egg on toasted bagel. Used the bbq tonight - lamb leg steak with a feta, tomato and spring onion topping. Served with new potatoes, salad and the very end of the tub of coleslaw.

Another sleepless night even with a iced hot water bottle, his lordship took up residence on the bathroom floor last night until I almost fell over him at 2am 🙄

lazy morning before a trip down to the coast, my sister was borrowing her friends beach hut again, it was more muggy than last Saturday the sun was behind the clouds and the sea wasn't so blue/green either.  The breeze didn't happen until about 4pm but still cooler than home.  There was a small fly past whilst we were there, not sure why or by whom about 8-10 planes in a formation a couple of older chaps.at the next hut suggested ww2 planes?

We took a picnic lunch, salad, chicken, smoked mackerel, dips etc with some grapes and berries.  Dinner was late, I had some pork fillet to use from the freezer so using LO crème fraiche, rice and mushroom I made another stroganoff this time pork and mushrooms with the LO rice and some wilted spinach

im hoping it will be a cooler but dry day tomorrow I'm having a new fence, back gate and a greenhouse base so there will be wet cement

    Good morning everyone,
Spectacular thunder and lightening in the early hours, it's now raining steadily and a good few degrees cooler though still quite humid.
Hector coped well with the storm and snoozed through it, :) I had a bit of a disturbed night though with horrible leg and foot cramp. It's still feeling quite stiff this morning.
With the storm looming we decided not to bbq yesterday evening and instead I made a "deconstructed" version of the planned kebabs in the oven. Today I have few admin bits to tackle and make a lasagne for tomorrow.
LOs (for a change LOL  ;)) for lunch and dinner will be salmon, spuds and various steamed veg.

Snap on another sleepless night, Brambling, no iced bottle though or cat to trip over

Today started dull & cooler and there are storms over Dorset, on their way to Brambling's cement I expect, but they may well fizzle out before then

Busy day so far, stewed a lot of my apples + my blackberries, waiting for it to cool down then I'll freeze most of it. Lots more apples left and some still to pick
The other excitement is changing the bedding

Meals, I have two slices of bread left and depending on staleness it's either sarnie or toast for lunch
Dinner, LO C & O flan, so that with last of the lettuce as a salad, HM AF chips I think

I'm off for Gout blood test tomorrow so can top up bread, milk & lettuce in co-op then, gritting teeth as I buy the £1.60 milk, maybe it's gone up since last week just to really rub it in

The garden work is a work in progress, they didn't arrive until 9.45am and it was very hot (half naked men in my garden  B)  ) the ground is so hard it's taken a long time to put in new fence post. they still have one post and two gates to finish as well as the base.  His lordship has been hiding in my bedroom, he's not impressed with noisy strangers in his garden nor the workman digging up the pavement in the front

lunch was a cheese and chive omelette.  Dinner a smoked mackerel salad with potato salad and coleslaw

  • A nice, chilled day off, slowly winding down 😉

Few chores done, including the excitement of a tip trip, plus lots of doing not very much.

Lunch was new potato, egg and avocado salad. Chargrilled tuna steak with new potatoes and sugar snap peas tonight. Couple of glasses of wine too (well, I am on holiday) 🍷

    Good morning everyone,
Dull and drizzling here today but so far no more thunder storms.
Sis and maybe nephew coming for dinner tonight, I prepped a massive lasagne yesterday. Recipe says serves 4-6 but I reckon there's at least 8 decent portions so I'm hoping there's leftovers for the freezer. I love lasagne but I seemed to spend most of yesterday making it! I did make more béchamel than needed so I could pop a couple of tubs in the freezer. If I'm going to have to perch at the stove stirring (something I find difficult) I might as well make it worth my while!
There's a little salmon LO from last night so that will be turned into pate/spread for lunch.
