Very glad of my away day spent in an air conditioned hotel conference room today 😅
Lunch was good too - chicken thighs with a curry sauce and rice then profiteroles and fruit salad 😋
The above meant tea was a cheese and coleslaw sarnie with a 🍷 …well, the bottle was open and I’m nearly on holiday 😜0 -

As it’s my special day, I treated the team to sandwiches and cakes from an old school bakery for lunch, everything was yummy but enormous 😋
.
Did you get any mackerel Caronc ?
too hot for doing much outside today 🥵 even his lordship decided the darken bedroom was the best place to be all day. My Dutch colleague was complaining as well and as he said he lived in South Africa for a couple of years, we seem to be having the same problems with the heat and water shortagesA real CBA to cook day, lunch was cheese, crackers and a apple. Dinner was a 'what's in the fridge' meal I AF some LO new potatoes and heated some LO veg and made a omeletteLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Good morning everyone,
Belated happy birthday JKS
Sorry to read the gout has returned Farway, the hot weather probably hasn't helped.
High twenties for us today, too hot for me so once Tesco have been I plan to retreat to the cooler part of the house until late afternoon.
No fish caught yesterday, too hot I think but DS2 enjoyed it anyway. Today him and Hector are off to Glasgow to meet up DS1 and have a picnic lunch in a local park which has lots of shade.
LO chicken tikka for lunch, I wasn't that fussed on the sauce DS2 made to go with it but the chicken was lovely, with salad in a wrap for lunch. Dinner is tbc.

Ouch re the gout Farway, are you drinking enough water? Dehydration will cause it 😐

A long hot & sticky night last night, 78F indoors when I got up, shame no way of storing this heat until winter to save a few quidBrambling said:Ouch re the gout Farway, are you drinking enough water? Dehydration will cause it 😐

Better gout news this morning anyway, the tablets seem to working, fingers are much easier this morning but still swollenFood, still much too hot to slave over a hot stove, lunch I have a Smart Price C & O pasty so sounds an easy optionDinner, still got the Quiché / flan so that + some salad if I CBAEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Enjoy your birthday meal JKS
Getting hot here though not in the same league as other parts. We've to reach 30C which is more than I'm comfortable with. I'm waiting for a load to finish washing and once that's pegged out that will be the extent of my exertions until later. We are bbqing tonight and DS2 is in charge.
Think we've managed to find a home for Hector's now too small crate via the local FB bartering page where a woman was looking for one. We'll see if she turns up to collect it.
Salad for lunch and grilled chicken wings for dinner .0
