  • Very glad of my away day spent in an air conditioned hotel conference room today 😅

Lunch was good too - chicken thighs with a curry sauce and rice then profiteroles and fruit salad 😋

The above meant tea was a cheese and coleslaw sarnie with a 🍷 …well, the bottle was open and I’m nearly on holiday 😜

As it’s my special day, I treated the team to sandwiches and cakes from an old school bakery for lunch, everything was yummy but enormous 😋
    .
Does this mean it was happy birthday for yesterday or have I read that wrong?

Did you get any mackerel Caronc ?

too hot for doing much outside today 🥵 even his lordship decided the darken bedroom was the best place to be all day. My Dutch colleague was complaining as well and as he said he lived in South Africa for a couple of years, we seem to be having the same problems with the heat and water shortages

A real CBA to cook day, lunch was cheese, crackers and a apple.  Dinner was a 'what's in the fridge' meal I AF some LO new potatoes and heated some LO veg and made a omelette

boo Hoo, my gout has returned to Right hand, very painful right now, I've followed your lead Brambling and started taking the pills again, I've enough or the twelve I'm allowed, and my gout blood test is on Tuesday so will await results

Meals, just no appetite, finished up with a salad sarnie last night & can see the same happening today, too hot & hand painful to muck around with food today

    Good morning everyone,
    Belated happy birthday JKS
Sorry to read the gout has returned Farway, the hot weather probably hasn't helped.
High twenties for us today, too hot for me so once Tesco have been I plan to retreat to the cooler part of the house until late afternoon.
No fish caught yesterday, too hot I think but DS2 enjoyed it anyway. Today him and Hector are off to Glasgow to meet up DS1 and have a picnic lunch in a local park which has lots of shade.
LO chicken tikka for lunch, I wasn't that fussed on the sauce DS2 made to go with it but the chicken was lovely, with salad in a wrap for lunch. Dinner is tbc.

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes, looking forward to celebrating with a meal out tomorrow night 😋

Wfh today, nearly melted this morning but got everything I needed to done. A whole week off now 😀

Lunch was spinach and feta parcels with salad and olives. Christened the new bbq tonight cooking a burger and rosemary roasted pepper, served with salad, coleslaw and new potatoes slathered in butter.

Ouch re the gout Farway, are you drinking enough water? Dehydration will cause it 😐

definitely too hot for me again  :( 🥵 and after a bad night I have been tired and a little grumpy today.  JKS I've another couple of weeks before I've any holiday so it will probably rain then 😁 I'm working tomorrow starting at 8am hopefully as plan we'll finish before 3pm

lunch was falafels and salad wrap. Dinner beef and mushroom stroganoff with rice

A long hot & sticky night last night, 78F indoors when I got up, shame no way of storing this heat until winter to save a few quid

Drinking loads of water, which then means I'm off to the loo every ten minutes, or so it seems anyway :'(

Better gout news this morning anyway, the tablets seem to working, fingers are much easier this morning but still swollen

Food, still much too hot to slave over a hot stove, lunch I have a Smart Price C & O pasty so sounds an easy option
Dinner, still got the Quiché / flan so that + some salad if I CBA

    Good morning everyone,
    Enjoy your birthday meal JKS
Getting hot here though not in the same league as other parts. We've to reach 30C which is more than I'm comfortable with. I'm waiting for a load to finish washing and once that's pegged out that will be the extent of my exertions until later. We are bbqing  tonight and DS2 is in charge.
Think we've managed to find a home for Hector's now too small crate via the local FB bartering page where a woman was looking for one. We'll see if she turns up to collect it.
Salad for lunch and grilled chicken wings for dinner .
