  • A very frustrating work day today. Probably a good job I was wfh otherwise I may have exploded in the office. As it was, I just ranted at my boss over the phone 😂

Luckily, it’s a swimming night so will work out the frustration as I plough up and down.

Lunch was feta and spinach parcels, salad and the end of a tub of beetroot salad/slaw. Just had early tea of beans with toast.

Tomorrow is another day…although the issues need discussing tomorrow before they get any worse 😮

There are definitely benefits from WFH JKS less chance of committing murder and no one can see you roll you eyes 🙂

dreary start to the day and I was drizzled on when talking to the fencing man midday but it didn't last long.  Whilst the guy was measuring for a new back gate with post and the side fence I asked him to add a concrete base for a greenhouse when he sends in the quote, which will come under the nice to have depending on the quote 🙂 but as he confirmed my back fence will last a few more years he just needs to replace the gate and it's post which were damaged in the February storms and have been wedged shut after temporary repair from my neighbour.

Lunch was LO tandoori chicken with salad,  dinner Singapore noodles with some gammon followed by some stewed rhubarb and strawberries 😋

Reading like it's gammon time on here, because the oven was on for Spring Rolls I cooked my W8rose on offer one yesterday, so I can join in the feasting :)

Dull but muggy this morning with sight dampness in the air after a restless warm night. My car has been fixed and just waiting for the MOT retest before it's returned, at least should be good for another year all being well, although the way things have been going with it, I've not ruled out it being hit by a meteorite :o

It's a gammon day today, having cooked & sampled a slice or two of it yesterday
Lunch, gammon & Branston, or maybe mustard, sarnie
Dinner, gammon, boiled new spuds and salad bits, I'll be making a carrot coleslaw later

I need to water the pots at the front as well, but it's not urgent, and I'm a tad frazzled after not much sleep last night so may leave it for today

    Good afternoon everyone,
Late on parade today as stove was serviced and chimney swept. Although well out the way in another room Hector was terrified of the noise and cowered on DS2's lap.
Chilly, grey and wet here, such a contrast to yesterday when we were sitting the garden until it started to get dark.
LO sausage & pepper stew on toast for lunch. Piri piri chicken and veg traybake bung in for dinner tonight.

No actual murder committed but I did get to rant in person today, and to a wider audience 😂. Luckily it was at my weekly offsite meeting so could come home afterwards, calm down and roll my eyes in peace.

Lunch was posh fishfingers with pickled gherkins in toasted pitta. Prawn and assorted veg egg fried rice tonight 😋

Boring dinner - Made a coleslaw from some cabbage, half a cucumber, a few small beetroot and a ropey courgette or marrow that came in the old veg box.

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)

    Good morning everyone,
Hello CJ, love your DIY solutions you could add "is it plugged in?" lol.
Dry and trying to be sunny here today, definitely fresher though.
Just me and Hector today as DS2 headed off before 6am to the office. Hector was clearly still tired when he left and snuggled down on top of my duvet until 9am. I'm hoping it bodes well for a less stressful day than when I had him two weeks ago.
LO traybake for lunch and Thai green curry tonight.

Another mixed sleep night with the warmth, but it is a tad "fresher" this morning, even though sunny & bright.

I was wondering if the new hosepipe ban applied to you Brambling, I'm in the middle of two banned areas now but can carry on hosing away for the moment, actually even in the '76 drought our ban was political because nearly the whole country had one even though not really required here, our water is held in the miles of chalk under us.
If you remember back to '76 the government eventually appointed a Minister of Drought or similar, and of course the heavens opened with subsequent floods

I've already been out pruning the pear & apple trees before the heat gets going and while my back is up to it, so that's my gardening finished for the day :) And I have a fig nearly ripe <3 , just waiting for its final succulence to get in there and hoping I beat the wasps to it

Car came home yesterday with MOT completed, good for another year hopefully, I wonder just what the general situation will be by then, all a bit into the unknown fore many I suspect, especially with interest rates on the up, a new experience for many buyers

Back to CFO, the gammon joint I bought from W8rose on offer is a good 'un this time, very nice and one I would've picked myself.
Lunch will be gammon + Branston sarnie
Dinner, the meal deal W8rose Sweet & sour chicken with special fried rice, looks good. Has to go today as it's on BB date, so may as well eat it today

    Hi CJ 🙂

I hope Hector behaved himself today Caronc  :) my sister is dog sitting a friends dog and a couple of weeks and very quickly realised that when my nephew is in the house she doesn't get a look in, we all knew he was the cat whisperer he is obviously the dog whisperer too

Hosepipe ban from the 12th Farway so car will get washed at the weekend and my wheelie bin needs a good wash as well and it's easier with the hose pipe

lunch was a cheese and spinach omelette with a little bit of gammon and some salad.  Dinner vegetable chilli from the freezer, the last portion made with peanut butter and butter beans and on my list to make again when i'm not trying to eat down my freezer 😁
