Hope the foot isn't too bad Farway 🙂
JKS I'm also on run down to holidays with tomorrow being my last day until the 4th January 😁 people seem to be clearing their to do lists this week 🙄
Lunch was tuna Mayo on a small AF jacket potato with a little salad stuff. Following on from your cauliflower cheese comments Caronc I made a cheese sauce to pour over LO cauliflower and broccoli and flashed it under the grill, eaten with LO code chickenLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Last pair of Christmas cards written, not for posting, just popping through letter boxes
Foot update, prescribed anti biotic & paracetamol and waiting call from pharmacy when they are ready. Bit of a better night at least. Dr prescribed enough to see me into the New Year so I won’t have to be scrambling around for a prescription with everywhere shut
Food today, something on toast for lunch
Dinner, last night’s stew was a good ‘un with LOs, but I’ll have a change tonight. There’s a steak in the fridge so maybe that, sautéed mushrooms, fried eggs & HM AF chips? If I fail on that it’s nuked LO stew

Good morning everyone,
Glad the Dr sorted out something for your foot Farway.
Hope your final working days are good ones Brambling and JKS.
Tesco order is due shortly, hopefully all is present and correct! Booster jabs for DS2 and I this evening.
LO ham for lunch and dinner will be a fridge use up of some description. I must remember to move the turkey from the freezer to the fridge today.0 -
Thanks caronc, one day to go! Hope Brambling isn’t still working 😂
Due to another staffing crisis, I need to go into the office in the morning. Oh well, some of the catch up jobs I was going to do in peace will just have to wait…
Stocks getting a bit low so just a sarnie for lunch today - it was Serrano ham with cream cheese on sourdough though 😜. Bit more using up tonight - pork and sugar snaps in hoisin sauce with noodles.
Wrapping all done except for two parcels, I ran out of oomph 🎄0 -
I managed to log off at 6pm and only because the boss told me there was no need for two of us to wait for IT to finish! system issues again 🙄 that's it until the 4th 😁
I hope the arm isn't too sore Caronc 🙂Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich. Dinner a portion of goat shank and pearl barley casserole from the freezer 😋 with cauliflower, carrot and cabbageLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
The antibiotics are like a miracle on the foot, just two tablets taken so far and the foot is much better, I can even stand on it now. Looking like Christmas will be fine foot wise at least
Hope the booster arms are not too sore Caron, seems it depends on folk, no problem with mine but others linger on
Change of plan with yesterday meals, cooked to beef joint instead because that did not require standing up or prepping with poorly foot. It cooked just fine & I finished up just picking at it for dinner, just beef, and no green stuff. Trouble is with the antibiotics it awkward fitting food around them, empty stomach and has to be about six hours apart, I don’t want to deviate too much or chance them not working due to not following instructions, too near the Big Day for that
I put a loaf in overnight, nice fresh loaf out of the Panny this morning and cooling down for a lunchtime Beef sarnie. I may have sliced tomato in it as well for a bit of veg at least
Dinner could be rinse & repeat or maybe nuke a portion of LO stew & dumplings
Asda delivery tomoorw, e mail tells me out of Smart Price tissues and would I like to choose an alternative? Err, no thanks, you choose and send me Kleenex at Smart Price, ta very much
. Especailly because now confirmed my delivery pass is cancelled, I'll wait & see how it pans out regarding charges tomorrow
Bright but very frosty morning, with awful pong of smoke, local FB reports large fire a few miles away, and with the still air the pong is lingering, initially I thought it may have been my loaf getting extra crusty
Have a nice work break Brambling & JKS

Good morning everyone,
Glad the antibiotics are helping Farway.Tesco came yesterday with everything I ordered and I remembered to move the turkey from the freezer to the fridge so good to have these ticked off my list.Cold and grey here today.DS2 and I had our boosters last night, can't say I'm firing on all cylinders this morning, my arm is very stiff and all my joints are sore. I was the same after the previous jabs but hoped with Pfizer this time it might not happen. There's not masses I need to do today so I think a not quite duvet day may be on the cards. Do need to go through the booze cupboard though as DS1 & DIL-to-be are wanting to make cocktails on Christmas Day and there's no point in buying stuff when there's a good chance I have it. We had a use up meal last night, I cooked some homemade wedges and nuked some peas. DS2 had these with leftover curry and I had them with the remains of the cauliflower cheese. Salmon tonight though haven't yet decided what to do with it.0 -
Thanks, Farway. Glad the foot is improving with the tablets, you’ll be able to dance at Christmas 😜
My arm was the sorest after the booster than either of the other two jabs, hope the effects don’t last too long, caronc.
Well, I made it - that’s me done until 4 Jan too. Got home from the office in time for lunch so posh fishfinger wrap with some pickled gherkins and the end of the sour cream and chive dip. Gourmet tea of egg, chips and beans (my excuse is that the freezer needs clearing out…) wine may have been taken 🍷🎄
I’m also done CFO for a few days so have a lovely Christmas everyone, hope all of your plans can go ahead and you have an enjoyable, restful time.

Have a lovely Christmas JKS, wine sounds well deserved.
I ended up heading to bed with painkillers and heat pads and feel a tad more civilised than earlier though I suspect I won't be late in bed. Lots to do tomorrow so hoping my joints aren't so stiff and sore so I can crack on with my to do. DS2 ended up sleeping for 13 hours straight last night and is still very yawny but not sore.0 -
Happy Christmas JKS
I was the same after my booster Caronc very sore arm and achy joints. Luckily the joints weren't bad for too long
Very cold here today, I forgot my scarf when I went into town 🥶 so as well as the cold the amount of people meant I didn't hang about for long. I did pop into M&S food hall for my sister but found it too busy to want to hang about for long, they didn't have what she wanted either 🙄
lunch a potion of veg soup from the freezer. Dinner bacon egg and chips - no excuse just CBA to cook once I got back from townLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
