    Good morning everyone,
    Glad tum is improving Farway.
I was pooch sitting for a couple of hours earlier. He's not been here on his own for a few weeks and was super excited to be here tearing about the place and hurtling up and down the stairs like a dervish. I think he's missed me lol!
Damp and dreary here today, feels colder than it actually is.
I'm Zooming with pals early evening so will prep mince & tatties later so they just need a quick nuke when I'm finished. Egg mayo on oatcakes and some grapes for lunch.

Picture is definitely a lot better than my old TV Farway 🙂 I'm sure I could work out the extras or persuade my nephew he needs to help the old dear 😁

4 more days at work 😁 I'll be glad to walk away for a while

lunch was the last of the roast pork in a sandwich with some HM coleslaw.  Dinner a portion of HM fish pie from the freezer with cabbage, broccoli and beans

    Good morning everyone,
Get your nephew to do it Brambling it will take him minutes and save you the brain ache!
I had a good virtual catch up with the "girls" last night though it ran later than I thought so dinner was very late. I'm glad I had organised it beforehand. Plenty of mince LO so that will form the basis of dinner thought maybe with pasta or rice instead of spuds. Oatcakes and cheese for lunch before I head to get my flu jab.

Up early for hospital visit and another dull & grey day

Hospital was a bit more uplifting, some improvement and another lot of pills added to the list, plus blood test required. At least it’s a positive start for 2022

Then off toGarden Centre & café for brunch, I had a sausage baguette & coffee.

Visit to the GC Farm Shop bought another pack of free range streaky with long post-Christmas date, and some FR pork sausages, hopefully with real skins & not plastic ones

Dinner, the Mark’s MFO liver, bacon & mash should do nicely

Glad it was positive at the hospital Farway and sounds like a successful trip to the GC.
Flu jab is done and a visit to the post office for some cash covered the last of my Christmas gift shopping.
I hope to finish up the bulk of my voluntary stuff by Saturday at the latest and then I'll go into festive mode.
DS2 returns tomorrow ending my longest CFO stint in almost two years! Tesco is due tomorrow but a fairly normal shop with a few extra bits. I've another delivery due on Tuesday for the festive fare though already have the meat for Christmas and New Year apart from some streaky to go over the turkey. Just need to sort out a tree now but I'll get DS2 on to that over the weekend. I have a nice artificial one but it's far too big for where I need it to go so hope to get a small real one. We are having another kitchen/conservatory Christmas as my dining room is full of DS2's belongings and tbh now my Dad's not with us  we prefer the more informal setting.
Need to catch up on last night's Masterchef, I think I've narrowed down who I think we should see in the final.  :)

Good new from the hospital Farway will you rattle if we shake you now 😁

I hope the arm isn't too sore Caronc

I posted a parcel lunchtime, the little post office counter at the petrol station had no queue and its only about a mile down the road. I did gulp at the price of stamps but all my cards have now been written and posted.  I remembered my sisters birthday card when out so popped into the garden centre as they have a nice selection.  Local cards were also hand delivered when I was out at the post box.  Just need to wrap the local presents,  No decs up yet but at least I'm a lot more organised than I was last weekend as I how have presents 😁 TBH I'm trying to find my get up and go to put up the tree 🌲

lunch was a portion of broccoli soup from the freezer.  Dinner was also from a freezer rummage 🙂 beef and ale casserole, root veg mash both from the freezer and roasted squash and Savoy cabbage 😋

I hunted down the chicken I had in the freezer, it seemed to have migrated down to the bottom 🥶 that will be the weekend sorted although it doesn't seemed to have cleared much space. When putting stuff back I 'found' a rump steak and a small lunchtime 'mystery' portion of either tomato and veg pasta sauce, ratatouille or ragu so that's tomorrow sorted as well.

Phoned to book a blood test, no space until 11th Jan, wow, I suppose with Christmas + Covid it’s to be expected.

Bit like Caron with two more deliveries before Christmas, Sunday is w8rose with posh stuff, like smoked salmon & blue cheese, then Thursday is Asda with the mundane + mince pies. Still unable to sort out & update my delivery pass, I suspect they’ll just charge me for it this time but it works out the same cost so no a problem, only advantage of delivery pass is earlier visibility of slots and no extra charges for weekend but I can live without until the New year when hopefully it’ll have settled down & I can start over

Today’s meals are not very involved, more warm up for one

Lunch will be salad sarnie, maybe with some cheese?

Dinner, Pukka pie, chicken one I think, with LO carrots & mash fried up in sort of bubble & squeak

I’ll be watching Gardeners’ World tonight, part of it is at Hillier winter gardens over at Romsey, which I’ve been to many a time so it'll be interesting to see what they mention

    Good morning everyone,
Unfortunately post flu jab I've now got a very sore and stiff arm and shoulder. I'm just waiting for some more painkillers to kick in. I had the same last year and I'm hoping it settles before I get my COVID booster on Tuesday.
Not planning much for today just a bit of housework and admin. Meals are tbc probably oatcakes with cheese and grapes for lunch and I'll see what DS2 fancies when he gets here. If he's for a chippy I'll probably have breaded cod from the freezer.
  • 3 days to go!!! Another long, stressful week is done. Couple of days of not CFO, one because of a visitor and one because of pizza at work 😋

A nice, productive wfh day today so quiche and baked beans for lunch. Prawn and sugar snap pea Thai green curry with noodles tonight.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, just some present wrapping and tree decorating that must be done…

I hope your arm is better now Caronc

I did have Waitrose shop booked for this Sunday and a Asda for the 23rd but decided I didn't need the Asda especially at £6 Xmas delivery, so tweaked the Waitrose one. Virus permitting I wouldn't be eating at home Christmas or Boxing day and can easily top up if I need to at T Exp or just eat freezer supplies 😁

Just myself and the boss working today, not too busy until it got manic at 4.30pm and just as we tried to escape at 5pm a urgent email came in.  It wasn't too too bad we still managed to finish just after 5.30pm and mutually decided not to check the mailbox again before switching off 🤨

lunch was ragu from the freezer with grated Parmesan. Dinner turned out to be a delicious inch thick rump steak from T Exp brought YS for £2 and stuck in the freezer, it was one of their finest 21 day old steaks and really tender 😋 I probably won't spend nearly £6 for one but if I ever seen it YS again.... 🙂 TBH if I realised how big it was I would have probably halved before freezing but I'm glad I didn't 😋 i made AF new potato chips and stir fry vegetables . I'm Still feeling slightly stuffed
