Good evening. Decided I needed a positive day today 😀
Walked to do my food shopping first thing, carrying it home is good for me! Load in the washing machine before I went out. Cup of tea and a sit down when I got home, washing out of the machine then off for a swim.
Home for lunch of tuna sweet corn mayo and cucumber sandwich on lovely fresh sourdough 😋
Another sit down, and moving washing from indoor airier to outside washing line, before off out to have my hair done. Always cheers me up and the drive both ways in the sunshine was lovely. Made creamy sausage, leek and mushroom pasta for tea.
Just settled down to watch Darkest Hour…0 -
Early start again today, managed to water & feed the pots at the front, rain on it's way to Wembley is due later this evening so I need to get outside bits done before I settleToday's planned meals are nothing special, lunch is use up, a cheese toastieDinner, it depends, could be salad of some sort if it warms up a bit, or lazy football CBA pizza from the freezer?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good afternoon everyone,
I had a lovely evening yesterday, the weather was perfect for bbqing and sitting outdoors. It's less lovely this today ,very grey and humid (though dry so far) and the midgies are out in force! I seemed to have escaped feeling fragile despite several glasses of wine and a late night.
DS2 has gone fishing so with a bit of luck dinner will be fresh mackerel, if not it's JO's Golden Crispy chicken. Lunch will be a salad wrap and some grapes.0 -
It's been a slow day for me today, I'm shattered 🥱 i worked from 7.30am yesterday to nearly 1am this morning, we did have a break between 8.30am - 10.30am and another between 3.30 - 6.30pm but I had to keep an eye on my emails and Skype. Nothing went right caused by human error 😡 and it didn't help that no one picked up our 24hour support line 😡 checking my work emails this morning I saw my colleague got a response 2.00am and annoyingly it's was a 5 minute fix for our developers 🙄 I was still awake at 3am as my brain couldn't switch off 😴🥱 and the furry alarm demanded attention at his usual time
My W8itrose delivery arrived almost complete yesterday, no peas not even a substituteI don't eat many so not really a problem and I refused their tea bag sub as I'm not keen on PG tips even if they subbed a bigger box for Yorkshire Tea which was on offer. T Express also have it on offer so I may wander up there but no rush as I only added it because it was on offer
Food wise it's been a day of LOs. Lunch was the cold pork fillet and LO gnocchi gratin, I had a brain fart when cooking it and halved the pork but not the gnocchi, it's not so good reheated. Dinner was LO chicken and fennel tray bake

Gosh, Brambling, that’s a hell of a working day any day, let alone at a weekend 😮. Will you get TOIL?
Fairly certain Yorkshire Tea is on offer in sainsbugs too…
Very easy day here, although I did change the bed and dust and hoover the bedroom. Out for a lovely roast dinner and pudding at lunchtime so just some smoked mackerel pate and toast with a glass of wine this evening 😉0 -
More rain overnight and this morning, it's hardly stopped but sun is peeking out nowMy W8rose delivery is due this afternoon, I've three subs but all subbed upwards with branded in place of Essentials, Jacobs £1.20 charged 50p, Flora £2.35 charged £1.25 & Carex £1.30 for 0.90 , and the salmon is still on the list, a happy bunny here
, except for the England footy result of course
Food is more use up, another cheese toasty for lunchDinner, depends on the delivery, if something fresh is close to date I may well use it, there are breaded fish & gammon steaks [both part of a 3 for a tenner offer] in there so could be one of thoseQuietly hoping it's the fish because there are fresh spuds on the lorry as well, F & Cs perhaps? This will be my first bagless delivery so I'll see how helpful, or not, the driver is in helping me bag up.I do mention on the list I need help due to lack of bend & tipping over at inconvenient times and so far I've never experienced any refusal with a bit of extra lifting from them

Good morning everyone,
That was one long day Brambling no wonder you were shattered!
Farway, Tesco bring my shopping straight through to my kitchen so I can load it straight onto the counter. You should ask the delivery person if they'll do that for you though their delivery policy might not allow it.
I'm heading for lunch with DS2 today, we haven't decided where yet but it will just be local. Dinner if anything will be salady bits or "something" on toast.0 -

Fairly certain Yorkshire Tea is on offer in sainsbugs too…. Thanks for the tea tip, Usually only buy it when I see it on offer 😁
Any flooding in your part of the country Farway? My cousin put pictures on FB today re flooding in Poole/Bournemouth. They are also reporting flooding in parts of London so I'm hoping the heavy rain has bypassed us and we wouldn't get caught in a betw two fronts. I'm on a hill so. I'm on a hill so not usually a worry for me.
Also on FB another cousin's son put a link of his dad giving a newspaper interview, I had to smile he's 80 and has lived in New Zealand since the late 60s (a £10 pom) but under a soft NZ accent you could still tell he was Dorset bred especially certain words which were real West County 😁Lunch was a blue cheese, pear and walnut salad. Dinner a vegetable biryani (ish) 😁Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Ho hum, Brambling, you win some, you lose some…
I tend to buy Yorkshire Tea all the time now but it is often on offer.
Nice productive day in my home office plus managed a swim at lunchtime and got some pegging out done, caronc 😉
Lunch was spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweet corn and sun dried tomatoes. Made a yummy honey roast butternut squash, blue cheese and walnut salad tonight.
I then taxed my brain with Only Connect before letting it go to mush with the new Channel 5 drama, Lie With Me…complete escapist trash but it looks lovely 😂1 -
Good morning everyone,
Hazy sunshine here today, I'll be joining you in the pegging out JKS
I had a lovely lunch yesterday at a local hotel of smoked haddock gratin - it was truly delicious. Not the cheapest place by any shout but not scarily expensive either and the food is well worth it.
DS2 is busy fence building and I'm going to tackle the very manky front windows when I finish my cuppa.
Salady bits for lunch and HM refried bean burrittos for dinner tonight.1
