I had bruschetta and a veggie pizza last night. It was a lovely restaurant with an outdoor seating area and it felt almost like being on holiday.
I just had some blueberries, yoghurt and a coffee for breakfast. I have to take my cat to the vet in about an hour.
I think I will make bruschetta later at home for lunch with a chickpea salad.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hello Wednesday, hope your cat gets on okay.
Good to hear you got the phone working again Farway
Snap re the shorts wearing Brambling, they're strictly for family viewing only.
It's a scorcher here today, DS2 is busy fence painting while there is still some shade. He'll probably go fishing this afternoon. Yesterday he caught a mackerel which we shared as small starter just quickly fried in butter with a squeeze of lemon.
I'm enjoying a quick cuppa and noodle on here before sweeping & mopping through. The kitchen has had a good wipe down and once these chores are finished I'm going to enjoy the shade of my new parasol until the sun goes over a bit and then I'll do some more deadheading.
JO bacon, mushroom, pea and tiny soup pasta in a creamy sauce for dinner tonight. It's recipe from The Ministry of Food book which I've not made for years. I hope it's as good as I remember. Salad and fruit for lunch.1 -
I hope you got the cat in it's basket with no blood loss Wednesday
One of my neighbours caught me in my dressing gown this morning she knocked to ask me if my cat was all right as he was just sitting and letting the children stroke him and he usually runs away, I did ask if she was sure it was his lordshipthere's a cat i occasionally see almost identical to him without the bent ear and he usually gets chased off by mine so I think it was him. It was nice of her to check as she knows his lordship is a timid wee beastie 🙄 he came in when I whistled out the back door for him and ate his breakfast all ok
I was organised this morning and chopped loads of veg to make a tomato and veg pasta sauce in the slow cooker, I added venison meatballs half way through the cooking time. It needed a teaspoon of bicarb to easy the acidity but turned out very nice. It made a lot more than I planned so two portions with meatballs and two without added to the freezerLunch was a salmon and broccoli small quiche from the freezer with salad. Dinner was the above mentioned meatballs with sauce and pasta.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Another busy office day but did get out for another sunny evening walk 🌞
Lunch was the last of the noodle salad and tonight I made linguine puttanesca.
Have to keep reminding myself it’s not Friday this evening 😂1 -
My cat is okay as it was just her vaccinations but my dog had to go to the vet today. He kept limping around all last night in our bed. He did fall down a few steps on the stairs the other day but he seemed okay so I'm not sure what is wrong.
My husband is at the vet now with him so keep your fingers crossed for him.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Hope your dog is okay Wednesday.
Slightly overcast and breezy here this morning but still very warm. DS2 is sorting garden debris out for yet another tip run. Bathroom has been scrubbed and I'm just enjoying a cuppa while waiting for Tesco to arrive.
Must look out and wash my good china and cake stands later. A couple of friends are coming over tomorrow for afternoon tea in the garden, they are picking it up on the way so all I need to do is set the table etc. I haven't seen them in person since November 2019 so a catch up is long overdue!
Salad & fruit for lunch. Dinner is tbc.0 -
Baking hot today with sun blazing down, and because forecast is same for a few days I was out early watering my volunteer garden pots, all done followed by quick burble down the motorway to give the battery a charge & engine some heat and a workout, being a diesel it likes a blast now & thenBack for lunch, cheese & sliced raw onionDinner, more F & Cs, only because the fish was a two pack & it's freeze it or use it so may as well us it. I'll probably use up the last of my HM coleslaw on the side instead of nuked peasThen I'm clear for salads all weekend and make some fresh coleslaw as well, a cunning planEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Absolutely gorgeous day here, warm and sunny but with a bit of a breeze. Shame I had to work but at least it was at home…pegging out done 😉
Lunch was beans on with toast after a lunchtime swim (another bonus of wfh). Had leftover butternut squash and sweet potatoes so turned them into veggie fajitas tonight. Rest of the roasted sweet potato will end up in some kind of lunchbox creation next week…
Happy sunny weekend!0 -
Hope the dog is ok Wednesday
Hot here as well, washing all done, dried and put away which will save me a job to tomorrow, no long meetings today so I could pop out and hang it on the line 🙂
The word from the top at work is if we're working from home we should continue and if we have to go into the office we still have to follow social distancing and mask wearing is mandatory. So it's business as usual until further notice. I have spoken to my manager on the possibility when we can go back to the office in dividing my time between the office and home, I don't want to work here full time but I would quite like a couple of days at home a week it can be very convenient 🙂
Lunch was crustless quiche and salad. For dinner a wrapped some cod in Parma ham and a little bit of sage, roasted it with some tomatoes on the vine, green beans, tenderstem broccoli and new potatoes.
Tomorrow it's a long hair appointment and they have a new puppy they're bringing into the saloon so I may get puppy cuddles 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Supposedly going to be the hottest day of the year today, just in case I made an early start by watering all the pots in the back before nine, there's a slight cooling breeze at the moment and it's very pleasant, though I suspect not the day to venture down the sea front along with a trillion othersToday's food will be of the zero cooking styleLunch, another cheese sarnie, maybe add a bit of lettuce inside as wellDinner, the LO cold gammon steak from the other night, with salad. And I have a tin of new spuds that was part of a food box delivered during last year's lock down. I'll open that & if OK use them, maybe warmed through with some mayo mixed in?I'll make a batch of fresh coleslaw later as wellHope all's well with dog Wednesday, and if your boss agrees on WFH terms Brambling it sounds like a good deal all round including pop into W8rose for YS mooch on work days
