JKS I don't mind subtitles as long as I'm not too quiet, I usually like most of the BBC4 Saturday subtitle crime/thrillers or the Walter present series on All 4. I'm not sure about Prof T I'll watch next week to see. I did have to look back at a couple of bits to Baptiste as I lost the thread answering a text. I may end up watching the rest of iPlayer as well I'll see if I can resist temptation, but I have questions and I need explanations 😁
Ridiculously hot at home as well 😁🥵 I moved from lounge and back to the table following the sun. I forgot milk at the weekend and foolishly got in the car lunchtime which had been sitting in the sun, it said 35 and I could hardy hold the wheel it was a more realistic 30 when I got to T Express, I did wonder how long I could linger in their lovely air con shop just for milk 🤔 of course the boss may have complained as well 😁
lunch after my sauna was fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt. Dinner was LO Asian noodle salad with crispy smoked tofu,I tried cooking it in the AF but it wasn't quite right so I'll have a rethink before cooking the second half tomorrow

Good morning everyone,
Hot here already this morning.
I'm off for lunch with my sister and our friends, the last time the four of us got together was January 2020. The restaurant overlooks the marina and is usually blissfully shady and air conditioned. We may stay some time........

Sounds a lovely lunchtime Caron, hope it went wellIt's baking here, I'm under the heat warning area and not surprised, it's too hot to go into garden. I made an early start again, up watering the volunteer pots earlier this morningLuckily the sun goes over from back to front so my front room is cool while it's clocking 90F+ in the conservatory with all doors openDespite the heat I have the oven on, defrosted my 1/3 off W8rose gammon joint last night and now have it in the oven, in tin foil. That's dinnerLunch was another cheese & Marmite toastyI've made a ciabatta in the Panny and dinner is looking like freshly cooked gammon + salady bits in a freshly baked ciabatta sarnieCertainly too hot to slave over a hot micro waveEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Sounds good Farway, hard to beat gammon & salad.
I had a nice lunch out it was great to get a catch up. The restaurant was fairly quiet and blissfully cool. We opted to just get sandwiches and share some fries. I had pastrami with cream cheese and dill pickles which hit the spot nicely.
I was going to cook a quick Thai green curry tonight but although in the fridge overnight the chicken is just barely defrosted so instead I'll make the frittata that I was going to cook tomorrow and bump the curry for 24 hours.0 -
Glad you had a good lunch Caronc
I was thinking about cooking the small gammon I have in the freezer as you say great with salad but I couldn't face putting the oven on the AF was enough
I picked a couple of small cucumbers tonight, a friend took pity on me and gave me a plant as mine were hopeless. The veg garden hasn't done too well this year and I have about ha,f frozen small green tomatoes on the same amount of plants
Lunch was hummus with chopped up veg and a wrap. Dinner the last of the noodle salad, the veg stayed lovely and crisp although the chilli in the peanut sauce had matured 🥵 I AF the last of the smoked tofu as I CBA to do anything else with it 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Lunch venue sounded perfect caronc, glad you had a good time.
Ridiculously hot again for most of the day although we have had thunderstorms and heavy rain this afternoon/evening which has cooled it down a bit…
Lunch was quiche, coleslaw and salad bits. Tonight was feta and olive stuffed courgette with jewelled couscous. The courgette should have been bbq’d but due to the thunderstorm, I had to dig the griddle pan out 😎
Leftover couscous shoved in a lunchbox for another day…0 -
Another very hot day ahead, my bedroom was like an oven overnight despite open window etc. I think come winter I'll try & source a portable air conditioning unit, may only be used a few times but i think it'll be worth it, well I say that but not yet checked prices. Just checked, maybe notMore early watering but that's about all I'll be doing today, no cooking either, sarnies & salads I think. Do frozen chips in AF count as cooking, or salad
?
Lunch some of yesterday's gammon in a sarnie, possibly with a sliced tomatoDinner, more sliced gammon, maybe in sarnie or with bit of saladI have too much milk and with this weather I'm wary of it going "off" so think I'll knock up a Lidl own brand Instant Whip, maybe go posh and pick some gooseberries & red currants to pop in with it?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Hot here today, DS2 has thoughtfully pitched his fishing shelter for me to lurk in. It's fits me, my rocking chair and a builders tub full of water to dangle my feet in very comfortably. I may just move in for the next few days
LO frittata for lunch and Thai green chicken and veg curry with rice for dinner.0 -
Without wishing my life away I'm looking forward to the weekend when the temperature is due to drop to 22, no rain for us yesterday so it's still muggy here and like Farway said too hot to sleep 🙄🥵 even his lordship was too hot to sunbathe on next doors front lawn today he hid indoors with me in the shade
Lunch was a hummus and grated carrot wrap with salad. Dinner was large haddock fish fingers with chips and sweetcorn so using Farways logic I had fish fingers and salad 😁

It felt slightly cooler here today but not much. Typically, we’re forecast rain at the weekend just when I will have time to actually enjoy nice weather 🙄
Rinse and repeat lunch today of quiche, salad and coleslaw. Prawn and cherry tomato linguine tonight (with green beans for the 5 a day count).
Watched the second episode of Baptiste tonight, certainly have to have your wits about you when watching….unfortunately Brambling, I have more questions than before 🤨0
