Woke to more drizzle but sun is trying hard now, not that I'm getting up to much today, maybe mooch around garden "just checking" having exhausted myself after 3 hours of holding my breath last night following the footy

Brambling your nephew will learn eventually, I have to have blood test in the reclining chair just in case, having previously finished up with very concerned nurses wondering whether head between knees or get me PDQ onto bed is their best option before I fall slither onto the floor.
It's one of those life things, the more you are prepared & ready for something the less it ever happens

I tried to complete my on line shopping yesterday but the Asda site was having non of it, just the rotation circle when i got to check out. I kept trying later but in the end gave up & now have a W8rose delivery next Monday, I was trying Asda for today delivery but I reckon I'll survive OK until Monday. W8rose is still free delivery over £40 here so no big hardship except some items are more costly but total figure is much the same

Lunch, probably cheese & salady sarnie
Dinner, a MFO from the freezer. last night's MFO was Iceland chicken curry + rice

I think if time allows I'll start assembling my posh free range meat order now freezer spaces are appearing, the suppler has also started stocking posh veggies so just maybe, plus posh Scottish Macduff beef as alternative to English local.
Some of the non meats are daft prices, £1.70 for a sliced Hovis is taking the mick but there maybe something there, never know until I look

    Good afternoon everyone,
Oh your poor nephew Brambling, he was probably too embarrassed to mention it. I'm fine with jabs but have keeled over a couple of times getting my blood pressure taken  :(
A friend popped by and we had a good catch up after not seeing each other for almost a year. It's was dry and warm though overcast but it was lovely to sit in the garden and put the world to rights.  :)
Toasties and salad for lunch. Dinner will be salmon with a vegetable medley aka whatever's lurking in the veg drawer and Ayrshire tatties.

My nephew other than a spectacular eye has no after effects from his jab or fall 😁 he had moved to the waiting room to sit his required 15 mins when he passed out so I think caused a stir 😁 I was teasing him when he reminded me I broke my two front teeth due to my low blood pressure  :*

After 18 months my friend and I are hopeful of meeting in Chichester soon, it will be via train as we are talking of a bottle of fizz to celebrate 🍾  🥂 although between work and other commitments it's looking like August once I get back from Cornwall.

Farway my W8itrose delivery is due Saturday, I'm working all day so it suits me. I did some dithering but did add their salmon piece which is 25% off which I can cut into individual portions.

Lunch was smoked mackerel and egg salad.  I finally got around to making JO pork fillet in Parma ham with gnocchi and peas gratin with runner beans for dinner. Plenty of LOs I may have to see if the gnocchi freezes. I didn't have any basil pesto so used wild garlic pesto 😋 most of it came from the freezer as did the mackerel lunchtime

  • Much better day today, thanks Brambling. All calm and got a few things ticked off the to do list 😎

Office day so the rest of the rice salad in a lunchbox. Created a new potato, salmon and broccoli bake thing tonight with creme fraiche, lemon juice and parsley as a sauce. Was surprisingly ok 😂

    Good morning everyone,
Glad you had a better day JKS  :)
Did you enjoy the gratin Brambling, I thought it was really tasty. I'm not sure how well it would freeze but there's only one way to find out I suppose.  :)
Tesco are due shortly and then I'm pooch sitting for a few hours. Family bbq tomorrow - just a simple bangers, burgers and chicken wings one but I'll make the burgers later so they've plenty of time to firm up and get the chicken marinating. I'm sure poochy will be wanting to help lol!
Sarnie of some description for lunch and breaded haddock, veg and a baked spud for dinner unless we get a takeaway.

Snap, it was already on the list :D . Last time I tried it failed to arrive despite being on the list, sold out. :s
I found it seemed a meatier cut than the ready portioned ones. I get three out of one, or did last time I had one

Warm & sunny day at last, up to the volunteer garden first thing, spot of watering flower pots despite all the rain still get dry. But looking good & summer like now
Over to the Co-op and found fully stocked shelves :o , came away with Iceberg, celery & a cuc, all decent as well.
I really only needed the celery because I have duplicates arriving with W8rose on Monday, except W8rose never had celery, but if this weather holds I'll soon use them

Lunch was cheese & sliced raw onion sarnie
Dinner, I found some old lurking salad spuds plus three small spuds from the meal ingredients box deal I tried a bit back, so it's them, boiled, plus salad plus I think tinned tuna + mayo

I usually cut it into 4 Farway   :D or I've been known to keep it whole if I'm feeding others as I find it cooks and tastes better if cooked whole.   I was also tempted by their rump steak also on offer 🙂

I enjoyed the gratin Caronc it was very tasty, I put a portion in the freezer so will have to see if it works maybe I'll eat it with bacon, everything works well with bacon 🙂

A busy work day not helped by his lordship throwing up half a small rodent under the table when I was holding a meeting 🤢 luckily they were colleagues I deal with every day so they waited on mute whilst I dealt with the remains whilst he looked on very sorry for himself, I supposed it could have been alive when he brought it in 🙄

Lunch was the same as yesterday smoked mackerel and egg salad. Yesterday's LOs will be kept until tomorrow as I have a long work day so tonight's dinner was chicken and fennel traybake 'Italian' style and to quote you Caronc a medley of veg thrown in (food delivered tomorrow) I also tossed in some new potatoes. Turned out very tasty and I will probably not be able to duplicate again😁 and LOs for Sunday.

I brought some Iceland frozen chicken thighs, they were ok, not great but ok, they have been in the freezer for a while so time to use up.  i don't think I buy them again 🤔

Made it to the weekend, seems to have been a bit of a slog this week!

Lunch was quiche, baked beans and bread & butter. Relaxed by making risotto tonight, not sure if it’s the stirring or the open bottle of wine that’s so relaxing 😜. Tonight’s was courgette with pan fried prawns on top, served with tender stem broccoli and a glass of the aforementioned…

More rain this morning, just as I have plenty of salad available from yesterday's Co-op trip

Letter arrived, car tax due :( , which means MOT also due.
I have time to arrange that but with the lock down I doubt I've even covered a few hundred miles since last MOT but at least nothing should've worn out, may have rotted away of course

I'm trying chocolate Weetabix because it was on offer I couldn't refuse last on line shopping time so thought I'd give it a go, I think I prefer original TBH but as they also do banana and a red berry maybe I'll try them if offer still on next time?

Today looking like a frozen pie & frozen chips day if the weather stays as it is. Should it brighten up I can switch to salad
Lunch will be LO tuna in a sarnie

    Good morning everyone,
Can't say flavoured Weetabix appeals to me Farway, I'm not a massive cereal eater but only enjoy the plain types with the exception of Crunchy Nut cornflakes but I could happily binge on so tend not to have them in the house lol.
Sunny and warm here today, DS2 is hoping to crack on with the new fencing & gate after he's been for DIY supplies. This evening my sister & nephew are coming round for a bbq. I'm keeping it simple burgers, bangers and chicken wings. I made the burgers up yesterday and marinated the chicken. My sis is bringing salads so I just need to get the bbq lit later. Salad wrap & fruit for lunch.
Yesterday I picked the first cucumbers, three decent sized ones though they'll be a lull now as the rest on the plant are tiny. Hopefully now the big ones are picked they'll grow quickly.
