Goodness I've been a busy bee today with my voluntary admin - I felt like a proper worker (though with no pay packet to look forward to lol!). Well seeing with the school's closing for summer on Friday the club is about to hit the frantic summer holiday service. Still it keeps the old grey matter ticking over. ;) I then ironed for an hour in fits in bursts so at least I'll have some summer outfits to wear over coming days. When it comes to ironing I do wish I wasn't so fond of cotton and linen for the warmer months ....
It's rained on and off all day, been very grey and quite chilly so a good excuse to defrost some mash & sausages for dinner.
Thankfully the weather is due to pick up after tomorrow and looks as though it will at least be dry for the family bbq on Saturday if not hugely warm & sunny. Temperatures are supposed to be better next week and I've just done a meal plan that reflects that I will not be wanting to spend an awful lot of time in the kitchen!  :)

I have both Time and Mare of Easttown recorded I just haven't got around to catching up, I was dithering on whether to watch Time but I think I'll give it a go

Farway I think the iceberg shortage is a Hampshire thing 😁 I went to T Express for milk and F&V bits 8.30pm and there was about 20 all YS 10p not a bad size and all looked ok, so I brought one with a bag of 20p rocket.  I was tempted by a small water melon I've feta cheese in the fridge so that's a lunch and the pears fell into the basket as well,  I've Brighton Blue in the fridge and some chicory and walnuts so that's another salad lunch 😁

Typical I'm back to work today with only a half hour lunch and it's been a lovely day here 😐

I decided the chicken needed finishing so lunch was a chicken salad sandwich and dinner LO chicken laksa with noodles and green veg on the side. Annoyingly when rushing to clear up before my 1.30pm meeting i binned the chicken carcasses rather than putting it in the freezer for stock 🙄 it was only a small one

    Good morning everyone,
More rain for us today and tomorrow but so far the forecast looks okay for our family bbq on Saturday.
Today its a catch up on the general cleaning as it was side lined while I was getting the garden sorted out and now needs a bit more than the "lick and promise" it had last week.
Apart from the chores and finalising the grocery order I've nothing planned. My son will return at some point tonight and I'm making naan pizzas as I'm not sure when he'll arrive. Egg mayo & salad for lunch.

We had sun to start with but clouded over now. I decided on salad when the sun was out so hope it's not tipping down by dinner
Up early because I found myself pickling onions, so I got up :) . I'm sure Freud would have some fun with that

Out for milk, cuc and possible cauliflower, bread rolls plus YS mooch in Co-op
Milk & cuc OK, rest failed, cauli just poor & rolls not worth it

Lunch was another frozen Asda sub pizza with extra cheese, does the job and certainly easy
Another salmon fillet out defrosting, plus coleslaw made & chilling. So it's fried salmon fillet salad, with HM coleslaw & HM AF chips
I've eaten my one ripe strawberry, it was too tempting once I knew it was there

Praise be, I've now moved onto recording Handmaids Tale. Blessed Day :)

I've never watched the Handmaidens Tale so I'll leave you to it Farway

Typical work day, although I did finish on time for a change and found myself apologising for going on time 🙄

Lunch was a blue cheese, pear and walnut chicory salad with a ciabatta roll .  Dinner was Nasi Goreng with enough chilli to clear my sinuses 🥵 but very tasty and LOs for tomorrow

  • Handmaid’s Tale has never appealed to me, way too bleak.

Busy day in the office today, was glad of my LO jambalaya. Annoyingly, I forgot to nip out for petrol at lunchtime so had to do it on my way home.

Dinner was a chicken “burger” (couple of chicken fillets coated in paprika) in a brioche bun served with sweet potato fries and HM coleslaw.

    Friday tomorrow 🤩

    Friday tomorrow 🤩
Friday arrives, and it's raining :( . Not that I was going to do much anyway, maybe prune a pyracantha now the flowers have passed but that was all.
HT is bleak & getting bleaker, I may drop out soon because it's getting to the stage where i get the feeling it's being deliberately dragged out just to make money and not merit. Star Trek anyone?

Back to CFO, it's banger day today, took some out to defrost overnight, last year's YS Co-op posh ones.
This morning I have a ciabatta in the Panny for lunchtime sausage sarnie
Liberated a 2019 packet of instant mash from back of cupboard ready for tonight's bangers & mash plus open tin of beans

Another day CFO slaving over hot stove :D

    Good morning everyone,
Much as I enjoyed the first series of Handmaid's Tale for no good reason I never got round to watching the second before it disappeared from All 4 and then there didn't seem much point in watching the third series.
Dull and thinking about raining here but dry so far, it will probably pour this afternoon as the kids finish school at lunchtime for the summer!
Tesco order has been delivered with only one minor sub and I'm now enjoying a quick cuppa after putting it all away. I've lots of lamb defrosting both leg meat and mince to make kebabs for the family bbq tomorrow. I'll get the meat sliced and mince marinating later. For once we are keeping it quite simple, I'm sorting out kebabs & spicy onions, my younger son bought lavash bread in Newcastle, my elder son & DIL-to-be are bringing Greek salad and tzatziki and my sister is making Lebanese style roasted potatoes. With some olives etc, I think we'll have more than enough.  :)
Second half of the egg mayo for lunch and probably breaded haddock & a baked spud for dinner.
  • Finished Time this evening, highly recommended (even though I wept through a large part of the last episode) - just great acting and filming.

A day in my home office and loads achieved, has been a very long week so celebrated Friday evening with a 🍸

Lunch was quiche, salad and LO HM coleslaw. Easy tea of LO mushroom risotto (from the freezer) served with broccoli for the something green 😁

Need to food shop again tomorrow, as usual can’t think of anything I want to make/eat in the next week…I’m sure inspiration will strike at some point tomorrow morning!

Sounds like some good food for tomorrow night Caronc I hope the weather stays dry for you

JKS my menu planning is usslly a little what i fancy combined with what is see and what's in the cupboard I want/need to use up. I do miss the wander around the SM seeing what catches my eye or what's on offer.  I'm really bad at adding a item to my shopping list and once brought I can't remember what it was intended for  :)

like JKS I'm celebrating Friday with a tipple in my case a G&T I only worked 3 days but it was a long week :|

I didn't sleep very well last night I was awake until 2am and then I think I saw every hour, I didn't fancy my breakfast so had it for lunch, a bowl of Greek yogurt and fruit (strawberries, blue berries and nectarine ) I need to get bananas tomorrow.  Dinner was LO Nasi Goreng so a nice easy ping and eat meal
