Farway do W8itrose have a email to complain to, it's been several years since I had to but I did it via email and they sent me a voucher, I assuming these days it would be returned to my card

Even if it's the smallest amount i find coriander is all I can taste 🤢 one of my sisters is the same

I'm glad the jab went ok Caronc  :)

Almost a no food day for me I woke with a heavy head (a change from my toe 🙄) I think a mix of sinus pain across the cheeks and hayfever and went back to bed at 11am until 4pm with a migraine.  Having lost my breakfast banana 🤢 I had dry crackerswhen I got up and I'm just having a nectarine and some strawberries now I know my tum is settled.  I slept with my large window open last night and next door seem to be 'wilding' their front lawn so I think grass pollen is playing a part.

Any aches and pains tomorrow and I may need to borrow a gun, at least it was good for the diet 😬

Another hot day ahead here, no work except stripping the bedding is required though, shame I can no longer get the washing out in the sunshine to dry but wobbles etc make it too risky an option these days

    Good evening everyone,
Farway are you on some sort of roaming network?
No, I think it opts for where my ISP is, or it thinks my ISP is, it was at Southampton this morning so a bit closer, reset yet again

Thanks for the prompt, I went on a hunt and eventually found an online moan form, maybe they think they are like the old Carling ad and the complaints office is closed as not required?
Duly completed and robot response received.
It's only 70p but it's my 70p, plus complaints should be analysed so they can continuously improve the product, Kaizen, Six Sigma and all that stuff
Hope you're feeling better today, tum troubles seem to be creeping along the coast

Lunch today to be cheese & salady sarnie and try out the 70p wrinkly limp lettuce.
I don't expect to have much of it left by the time I've removed the outer wrinkles, trouble is recently all the lettuces I've seen during my occasional shop visits have not been much better, and given the little amount I eat growing my own is just not worth it with the limited space I have, but I may have to rethink this
I've tried the mixed leaves bags but they're slime before I've eaten them

Dinner, one of the newly delivered cod in crumbs fillets, with HM AF chips & nuked frozen peas.
I'll freeze the other one left in the pack, same as I've done with last night's steak, which was just fine, ideal for one

    Good morning everyone,
Southampton sounds a bit more like it Farway!
Oh Brambling sounds like a rough day hope you are feeling better today.
I have horrible achy joints again after my jab though I feel okay apart from that, whereas last time I felt pretty wiped out for a few days. Hopefully this will be the extent of it this time.
Had hoped to get the weed killer down this morning but it's been raining. It looks as though it's drying up but I'll give it a bit before I risk it.
I'm expecting elder son to appear at some point, he has the day off and is coming down to watch the footie at a mates. I wonder is he'll stick to his plan to drive or succumb to a few beers  ;) , time well tell!
Ham salad wrap for lunch. Dinner is tbc, will see how the day goes and if my son needs feeding and take from there.

    Good evening everyone,
Elder son did pop by - not the result he'd been hoping for but said the other team deserved the win!
I decided to ignore the aches and just plough on. While it was raining I made a pot of mushroom soup and one of white sauce as I seemed to have rather a lot of milk and there was a pack of mushrooms that had been overlooked in the fridge and were at the "use or compost tomorrow" stage! (I thought my son had used them before he left and had bought more :( )This afternoon the rain dried up and I chanced putting weed killer down, thankfully the weather gods were kind and rain stayed off.  :)
HM soup and crackers for lunch instead of the wrap. Sausages, cauli cheese topped with tomato and flat mushrooms for dinner.
  • Good evening. Thought I was doing ok after my second jab on Saturday but feel exhausted this evening and haven’t felt 100% all day…was even off food first thing 😦

Lunch was picky bits that I fancied from the fridge - a few LO potato wedges, end of a tub of houmous, some cucumber, few cherry tomatoes, bit of prosciutto and some cheese and an apple. Made a red pepper and spinach puff pastry tart tonight, served with more of the HM coleslaw.

Did find the energy to knock up a batch of jewelled couscous for lunchbox lunches for a few days. Have added some LO chicken to tomorrow’s box.

I hope the joints are a little better Caronc 🙂

sorry you're not so good either JKS

what about little gems or romaine lettuce Farway I keep it in a container with an old tea towel in the bottom and it lasts a lot longer than the bagged stuff.  I do eat a lot of raw spinach and wilt it down when it starts to look sad

my head has been a little woolly today but I feel almost back to normal and my toe has stopped aching as well 😁  too much sleep yesterday meant not sleeping when I got to bed, my brain went ping as soon as I turned off the light. I lay there listening to a podcast menu planning in my head and decided I really fancied fish pie, and worked out I had all the ingredients, this morning I remembered that I'm not that keen on fish pie and it's too hot anyway 🙄  when I did get to sleep I dreamt that my hairdresser had given me a perm, think Kevin Keegan 1980s and woke in a panic, I have enough problems with natural curls 😬

lunch was tuna salad using LO tuna Mayo.  I had defrosted 'kiln' roasted salmon (YS M&S) and planned new potatoes, asparagus and green veg but one of my sisters called for a long catch up so I ended up with salmon salad.  There were two pieces of salmon so I'll try again tomorrow

    Good morning everyone,
Glad you feeling almost back to normal Brambling
I hope you are feeling less wiped out today JKS
My joints are still achy post-jab but have eased a little this morning as it's dry and trying to be sunny I hope to get quite a bit done in the garden but I'll see how I feel once I get started.
Salad wrap or soup for lunch and cauli cheese with "something" for dinner.

Warm, dry but a bit dull today
Up watering the volunteer border first thing, and went over to the Co-op on a lettuce hunt, empty shelves as per usual so came away empty handed

Brambling I like Little Gem & Romaine [cos], in my growing lettuce days I always grew Lobjoits green, I think that will be 2022 sorted for lettuce
I've just found a 2012 free packet of Arctic King lettuce, well past everything but maybe give me green leaves in a month or so, worth a gamble with nothing to lose

Lunch was cheese & cuc sarnie
Dinner, I will be joining [virtually] Caron with "something" for dinner, too hot to have oven on, the freezer is singing a siren song :)

  • Feeling much better, thanks. Hope your joints are easing up caronc. Glad you feel better too, Brambling - aren’t dreams strange???

Been another beautiful day here. Forecast to get really hot again tomorrow before it breaks overnight and the rain moves in.

Lunch was the previously advertised jewelled couscous (chickpeas, dried cranberries, cucumber, pomegranate seeds, mint and coriander). With added LO chicken today. Really enjoyed it 😀

Just had more LO chicken with salad, some yummy new potatoes and HM coleslaw.

    Good evening everyone,
Join away Farway, my "something" dinner is cauli cheese with HM wedges, a flat mushroom and probably some peas.
I managed between showers to get seven large pots planted up but the rain was definitely against me! However, it's maybe just as well as I was indoors when I got the alert for a virtual out of school club meeting so didn't miss the video call. I had for some reason thought it was tomorrow.  Tomorrow looks as though it's to be wet in the morning but dry in the afternoon, I do hope it's accurate so I can get the remaining pots in that corner of the garden finished.
Last full day of CFO for me for the next wee while as my son returns tomorrow evening. His trips away are likely to increase over the summer as they catch up with a back log of site visits and then probably tail off come Autumn but we'll just need to wait and see what pans out.
