Dull with hint of drizzle first thing, bit of a sticky night though so a disturbed night, old crocks R Us.
Hope it is not gout Brambling, I had it years back and know just how bad it can be, fingers crossed it seems to have gone since I changed diet way back
And the joys of outside tap + hose, so easy although I'm not metered I don't leave it running unattended.
I never will, [due to plumbing constraints]  but an outside tap at the front as well would be the ultimate luxury

Lunch today, maybe a cheese toasty?
Dinner, spotted a pack of frozen battered fish when hunting out last night's dinner of lamb moussaka so today is Fish & Chip day, HM AF chips though, plus frozen peas

    Good morning everyone,
I think I'm passed the "getting to be" stage and I'm firmly "there" in the old crocks department lol . I do hope it's not gout Brambling <<fingers crossed>>.
Yes a tap at the front would be fab Farway, one's on my list for when I finally get the bathroom done though I probably don't need to wait. Thankfully my water supply comes in the front so should be fairly straightforward and not too expensive to install. Depending on where your pipes are it could be an affordable luxury my sis was only £55 to get hers fitted.
Dry but cloudy here today, the rain more or less held off yesterday and I managed to get a fair amount done with further aggravating my wrist.  :)
I'm pooch sitting  my sister's dog this afternoon & evening. He's no bother but I'll need to try and make sure my garden is escape proof as he does like a wander!
Ham & egg mayo salad wrap for lunch and either breaded haddock or fishfingers for dinner.
  • Another week done! Started the day with a Joe Wicks workout before sitting in a zoom training session for 3 hours.

Left the house after work to brave Lidl, I had forgotten the stress of the speed packing 😂. Also made myself unpopular when my bottle of soy sauce fell off the conveyor belt and smashed 😦

Lunch was the end of the noodle salad (are you glad it’s gone? Was nice but seems to have lasted forever) and dinner was chorizo, butter bean and spinach hash with a poached egg - slightly overdone…clearly not my day!

At least it's Friday JKS and here anyway the weather forecast looks okay  ;)
I ended up not pooch sitting as my nephew had a shift change so my Krypton Factor  inventive skills at barricade building weren't required!
Had a decidedly eek/squirm moment earlier when I inadvertently plunged my hand/arm into a large ants' nest while hauling a past it's best lavender out of a planter. Bitey little beggars they were too but thankfully apart from a few red spots the bites have settled okay. Must get some ant powder but nest has been suitably dispatched .....

JKS some LOs are the gift which keep on giving 🙂 my crustless quiche has been the same 🙂

I'm please to say I don't think my toe is gout 😁 it's still painful but not as bad as it was although my knee has joined it, I'm sure it's just my usual joint issues and the reason I don't wear heels at all 😐 thanks mum 🙄

I managed to finish work at 5pm tonight but I am working on and off all day tomorrow 8am - 8pm IT are deploying fixes to our new system and we have our monthly server maintenance afterwards, so it's a case of doing a bit then wait for IT to do something than back to us.  Although we are not working all day we do have to be around and keeping an eye on the laptop to do our next bit so are limited what we can do as we have to keep an eye out

I went into town lunchtime to bank a cheque, take back something back to M&S and I managed to top up on fruit and salad stuff to tie me over until Tuesday, a small YS 500g joint of beef for £3 found it's way into my basket and freezer as well 🙂 I managed to do it all and get back to the car in less than half hour 🙂

lunch was quiche and salad and dinner spaghetti bolognese which was supposed to be yesterday's dinner so all I needed to do was cook the pasta

Sun's out with a hot day forecast, nice for those who can brave fighting their way down to the sea front, there's bit of a breeze so it'll be lobsters everywhere no doubt
I've just had a Windows 10 update, seems to given me a weather forecast icon at the bottom of my screen which for some reason tells me it's 16C in Glasgow with moderate traffic on the A81 Maryhill Road. Thanks Mr Gates, looks like fun & games ahead while I try & sort that "improvement" out :s

Meals today, unfortunately I've mostly run out of salad until W8rose arrive tomorrow, half a cuc & some toms are all I have, I'll try & sort some type of ploughman's for lunch using those & some mousetrap ready cheese
Dinner, from the freezer, either zap MFO or pizza

Right click on the weather icon > the menu will come up and select 'News and Interests' > then select turn off
That sorted it for me as I had the same thing and didn't want it either!

    Good morning everyone,
I now have the same icon Farway, though at least mine is correct though I'd prefer better than 14C and cloudy. Should be fairly easy to set correctly (if you want to) by opening the icon. If you click on the three dots in the blue box it gives an "edit location" option.
Glad you don't think it's gout Brambling though shame your knee felt it had to join in!
Gardening beckons again today though I reckon a cardi might be needed if the temperature doesn't perk up. I think another cuppa is required before I venture outdoors.
Pork pie and salad for lunch and I've some belly pork strips defrosting for dinner though I haven't quite decided what to do with them yet. No doubt an oven "bung in" of some description.

    Good evening everyone,
The cloud more or less cleared and the temperature rose to 16C, ideal IMHO gardening weather. I feel as though I made some progress this afternoon, an overcrowded pot of rosemary plants got carefully emptied and the three plants potted in their own spaces, cleared an awkward corner of lurking debris and made a start on planting up some of the larger annuals. I'm going to have a much smaller scale flower garden this year as the log store has stolen an area and the replacement patch isn't finished yet. I'll just need to be vigilant and make sure my son doesn't "accidently" dump them thinking they are no longer wanted lol (he thinks I have far too many pots and he's probably correct but......... ;) )
Before I headed outside I quickly popped the pork belly strips to marinate in a mix of rosemary, sage and thyme from the garden, a splosh of red wine and garlic. I also peeled and chunked some sweet potatoes. Just need to pop them both in the oven and sort out some veg.
  • Another gorgeous day here, bed changed and bedding all dried on the line 😊

Turned some very average tomatoes into a nice salad for lunch by slow roasting them this morning, added prosciutto and feta plus olive oil/balsamic dressing. Tonight was second go of masala cod traybake which has new potatoes and tender stem broccoli in, was really good again. Strawberries (from the farm shop) and cream for pudding shortly 😋
