Farway, our local @sda looks like it's been raided by Sunday afternoon so I don't amend my order until Tuesday afternoon for delivery on Wednesday which gives them time to stock up. Most things turn up this way.....
  • Still very cold and snowy here so no walk today, did manage an indoor workout before starting work though, always makes me feel better about the day 😀

Got a load of washing put through in between work stuff but other than that it’s another work, eat, watch telly, sleep, repeat day 🙄

Lunch was the end of the harissa chicken and couscous leftovers, and I made tart’s spaghetti (as Delia calls it) tonight, served with broccoli - I do like to have something green...

Typical that the heating is causing problems the coldest part of the year Caronc just be careful of your wheels with trailing cables

His lordship has spent the day voicing his disapproval of the cold and the white stuff we had on the ground this morning, he did the typical thing of checking out the front to see if it was the same as the back 🙄 and then was a PITA all day although he did fall asleep sitting up with his nose pressed against my monitor whilst I worked around him

lunch was a chicken salad wrap.  I wasn't that hungry dinner time so picked at the chicken from the fridge if I get hungry before bed I'll have some cereal

    Good morning everyone,
I can't think of the last time I was up, showered and dressed before 8am but didn't want to be caught in my nightwear if the electrician arrived without calling first.
The stove has been on all night so the place isn't too cold but I do hope the problem can be fixed today or at least isolated so we can get everything else turned back on. Having extension leads snaking about for the fridge and freezers is far from ideal. Minus 5 here just now but just a smattering of snow overnight.
HM soup for lunch and depending on what happens with the electrics sausage and mash for dinner.

Thanks, it seems the same here, just had e mail to tell me somethings have vanished, went back on and I think I've got it sorted now but I may finish up with surfeit of mushrooms, opted for a new slot as well, a day later, this Friday, but a more convenient time

Cold, sunny but no more snow
I finished up with egg sarnie last night for dinner, just didn't fancy much faffing about
Meals today, it's more use up for lunch, part baked baguette, [fortnight past BBE] with cheese & salady filling
Dinner, unsure, I may crack on & make more cream of celery soup hoping to replicate my previous yummy one, or maybe chuck a frozen pizza in?

I have heating, hot water and electrics :D:D
Only a shortish term fix as it would appear an underfloor cable is faulty between the kitchen and conservatory areas, possibly mouse damage! Further inspection on hold until April as classed as non-essential under lock down rules up here but may well be covered under my repair policy.
No sign of any mice actually in the house but I think the traps will be getting looked out just in case.

Good news Caron, at least part of it anyway, if true you are in good company, remember the hadron collider being gnawed through a year or so back, and likewise my nuker cable when ratty was visiting :s

Update on dinner, made a pot of celery soup, slight deviation from last time,  I burnt the pan & it overflowed onto stove top :'(
Tastes OK though, I'll have some of that tonight with HM loaf dunking bread

Lol Farway yes I remember, according to the guys out today it's the most common cause of domestic cable fails in winter.
Hope you managed to get the spill mopped before it set like concrete!
Challenge for this evening is working out my new boiler control thingy, apparently it's "smart" I'm just not sure I am but I'll give it a go as I'd rather not delegate it to my son who will just smirk knowingly lol .......
  • Lunch was quiche and baked beans after a quick 15 minute blast of fresh air in the sun (snowy underfoot still but lovely to get out finally). Pork egg fried rice tonight, quick and easy 😀

I've found the smarter things are  meant to be Caronc the more over complicated someone has made it  :o I remember my sister in Belfast in the mid 70s having to wait for an army approved electrician to fix the kitchen electrics, he found the mouse with its teeth still attached to the cooker cable  :s he blamed their large ginger cat who was supervising the work (or waiting for his mouse back)

today's been one of those days 🙄 I think I slept wrong last night as I woke up with a painful neck, which hasn't got better  :# and my microwave has died 😡 I do use it a lot to reheat my CFO LOs, lunchtime soup and my morning porridge, during lockdown it's been the dishwasher, hairdryer, iPad and now the microwave it's just as well I'm not spending money elsewhere!  It was a cheap one I brought about 10 years ago so I've had my money's worth.  I found one half price at currys and I'm using their click and collect option,  once I get a email with instructions I should be able to pick it up tomorrow it requires my car reg so I'm assuming as it's contact free they will bring out to the car? I'm just hoping as both are over 15 years my WM and FF won't soon follow   🤞

Lunch was a prawn Mayo and salad wrap. Dinner a chicken and veg risotto using LO chicken

I was looking at a half south down lamb from a local farm and debating whether I had the freezer room just as well I was dithering as that is being spent on the MW now 😐
