We did have a car though, mainly because my great Aunt stopped driving due to her age/health so we got her old Ford Anglia. Many a happy holiday was had in that:D (2 adults, 3 kids, luggage and a box of groceries all wedged in).

My first car was an Anglia,, similar to your outings, except I was the Dad. Kids [STRIKE]quarreling [/STRIKE]snuggled up in the back under a duvet, dog puking in the front foot well :( The good old days eh?

Snowed in now, self inflicted, just do not want to take chance on a slip, had a phone call, the centre where I volunteer is closed due to weather so not feeling at all guilty about that bit

I'm one of the "organised" ones who carry a mobile around, in my trouser pocket, don't have a pinny:D

Breakfast was pot of tea, with a bowl of hot porridge, HM yoghurt & honey

Lunch will be a cheese salady sarnie

I took my frozen HM SC beef stew out of the freezer last night, left out to defrost. It is still cold this morning, but unfrozen. I'm either having as stew & dumplings but thinking about a suet pastry crust that someone on here mentioned

That would have the advantage of warming the kitchen up a bit, down to 55 in there lately, not too cold but could be warmer

Great car if you didn't want to go above 45mph (ours shook alarmingly if you tried too!), the exhaust also had a habit of dropping off:rotfl:. It was my sister puking rather than the pooch, he loved travelling usually perched on someone's knee or squidging a space amongst us kids on the back seat so he could lick my Dad's neck:eek::eek:

Nice to see you back N2BT:),
My neighbours are very good at checking I'm ok or needing anything which I appreciate so I don't need to worry about something happening and I'm stranded undiscovered,

Groceries have been delivered and apart from having rather a lot of mushrooms, as whoever worked out the sub must have had dodgy adding skills, all was intact. The driver looked frozen though despite the fact he said he his thermals on (I didn't check;)).

I did something earlier to announce my presence... just in case anybody had looked/wondered. My car can go days without moving ... and I'm tiny and not often outside, so can't be seen "going about doing what I do" unless you're prepared to sit it out and stalk me.
This too is something that engages me. I had a chest infection a while back. Anyhow after a coughing fit one night, I couldn't breathe/get any air in. It's called laryngospasm - when your airways seize up and close. People have been known to pass out then come round later. Didn't know that then and thought that was it. Not so bothered about me - it's the thought of my dog. I'm tinkering with the thought of coming up with a signal - or the lack of one - with the neighbours.

There is a 'traffic management' lorry parked at the little junction opposite. But it's a dead end lane and there is no traffic to manage anyway (apart from farm tractors which they are getting in the way of!).

The trouble with the warnings and threats is that there's no "right to reply" or query.... and so it's frightening.

Somebody anonymously didn't like something said in one post - often because they read it wrong I bet.... and I got TWO for one post, and it was headed "Final Warning". I'd had a couple last year and if you look where it says in your profile about infractions (again, silly unsubstantiated punishments) ... they say they were expired.

So you end up unable to speak out, or query ... and feel threatened and bullied because of something you don't think is justified.

It can be mentally debilitating and puts you into a low mood. Especially as there's no clear/open route to being able to understand how you can be on a FINAL warning, when your sheet is clear as any previous ones were "expired".

    *sighs*

Sucks to feel bullied and powerless to enquire.

So so sorry that you have been made to feel this way and it should not be happening I have a pet hate of Bullies and will always fight back, especially on behalf of someone not feeling up to it themselves

This is a bit taken from Forum Rules

Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way.

I`m taking that to mean All Moneysavers and feel there has to be a way to enquire and be given the right to reply. Will look into this further

PN don't worry pet wont mention your name when making enquiry and making my feelings known on this kind of Bully its just makes me so mad

It's a snow day for me today, as the school I work at is closed.
Yesterday afternoon (after an early finish) I kitted myself up with walking boots, ice-grips and my hiking stick, and walked up the road to Waitrose with a backpack, and loaded up on the essentials I could carry.
Tea last night was a frozen pizza.
Breakfast this morning was eggs on toast.
Now going to assess the lunch options. Perhaps some soup.

Smart meter installation has been re-scheduled to the 15th. I'm not surprised and actually quite happy, will save the heat escaping with the to-ing & fro-ing that would be needed:)

Harking back to "right to reply", seems this board keeps how to well hidden as there is no "other" option in the "contact us" proforma. Always thinks this give bullies and trouble makers a bit of an upperhand which seems unfair:mad:

Just scooped out two spoons of the keema into a tortilla wrap.
Blimey that's hot .... I'm sniffing now. I did think that a whole chilli was OTT ... but I chucked it in anyway as I didn't want half a chilli kicking round the freezer.

My farmer neighbour just came to the door to see if I wanted anything in town. He said not to risk the road as he had been towing people out who had tried. Can't get my car out anyway.
I had to think for a moment as I am having all sorts of weird cravings pop up. But actually I don't need anything. It's just a case of wanting things you can't have. :(
But apparently town is all shopped out anyway.

    soup_and_mash.jpg

Have just discovered how to make soup and mash in one go

Bung in soup maker bag of Chinese chips over ordered by DGS, some sad celery and a sprouting onion forget to add water. Put some back in soupmaker with some water then enjoy soup plus the best tasting mash Ive ever had Lol if I can remember to forget the water next time I will do it again

I just whipped up a quick apple dumpling and custard.... I bought a very green/shiny Bramley apple a few weeks ago .... it's gone yellow and sad, so I grabbed it and thought "today's your day".

    :)
