  • Farway - I think it is brave to try swimming in the sea. I would find the idea intimidating.

I had Linda Mc vegan sausage rolls for breakfast. I feel really full up now.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Well done to your son Farway.
I've only had bovril made into a drink never on toast, it sounds good!
Dry here and quite mild but very, very windy. Lots of stuff in the garden has toppled - it was wild last night.
The schnitzel was lovely and even better my son prepped and cooked it. He's busy in the kitchen just now making bread rolls for lunches during the week. I've promised a pot of chicken broth to go with them.
BLT wrap for lunch and we're trying the JO chicken filo kiev tonight. To use up the filo I'll make a batch of them and freeze the spares. If there's enough pastry, I might make some filo parcels as well. While freezers are quite full there's not much by way of HM RMs so I plan to do a bit of batch cooking over the next few weeks and get them restocked.

Yesterday I ended up having two rounds of paste/cucumber sandwiches. The bread needs to be used by 15th and I'm now nearly half way down the loaf, the cucumber was new.  Two rounds because one round uses half a pot of paste, so I'd have had to trot down 30 stairs and through 3 fire doors to pop it in the fridge and I CBA with that nonsense.
Later I had a pack of doritos.

Breakfast today was 2 crumpets/marg as they need eating by 15th, just two remaining now.

No idea what to eat for lunch/later.... no idea at all. None.  I'll see what I CBA pulling together when I've been hungry long enough to be forced into a decision.

Yay, grass mown in the warm sunshine, very pleasant out now
More apples ripening, "Champion" variety this time. They are whoppers, could be a ploughman's coming on tomorrow lunchtime

Oddest thing, I found a laced trainer in my garden. No kids either side to lob it over as joke so I've ruled that out
Just in case I've left it on the wall between me & the neighbour most likely to wear trainers [she is fitness freak], maybe it flew off as she was fitness freaking?
I have heard of foxes taking items and leaving them elsewhere, sort of foxy playthings. There is a fox strolls by some days so maybe?

Last day off before I'm back to work  :/ do you think it's bad form to book my next break 9am tomorrow :*

I made chicken stock this morning but it's too hot for soup, it's in the fridge and I'll skim the fat off tomorrow and freeze until it's cooler it should make four portions

my sister and I both got vouchers to the nearby garden centre for a free hot drink with a slice of cake so that was lunch 🙂 we both also had money off vouchers from our loyalty cards they seem to have included the amount not used but issued before lock down so I brought some bulbs to kill for the front garden and a couple of £3 perennials reduced from £12+

Dinner was pan fried salmon (crispy skin) salad and new potatoes, it's meant to be hot the next couple of days so I foresee more salads this week

Another day, more dysfunctional food to grope around for and call a meal :)

Not motivated at present.  I've got 1/3rd of a loaf of bread (15th), 2 crumpets (15th), 3/4 of a cucumber (guessing another week on that), 6 eggs.  Cheese in the fridge.

I'm guessing there'll have to be some egg and cucumber sandwiches at some point...

Glorious sunny & warm day ahead according to the forecast, I also see more salad days as per Brambling
I tried a blob of Marmite stirred into the LO JO cauli / pasta mix last night and can report it worked wonders.
Bear in mind I'm a garlic free zone so may not be required for those using stronger flavours to start with

I have two stale slices of bread left for lunch, and CBA to think about it, so it'll be toast & jam
Dinner, more CBA, one of my Ice£and frozen pizzas and some salad should do the trick

    Good afternoon everyone,
Fingers crossed PN that the "right one" comes up soon and if you're not in your own place by Christmas you at least have a date to move.
Glad the marmite worked Farway, I'm a garlic fan but if you're not it's a great way to add some oomph. I'm sure Jamie would approve  . On the subject of garlic the chicken filo kievs were a great success, just as well as there's another 4 in the freezer.
It's warm here today but grey and damp, possibly not the weather for the broth I made yesterday but it will go well with the gorgeous rolls my son made.
Boring admin for me today, needs must as I'm behind with my voluntary stuff. If my garden waste bin gets emptied soon I'll spend an hour in the garden refilling it but sometimes it's late evening or tomorrow before they come. Yet another JO recipe from the new book for us tonight - broccoli and gorgonzola risotto . We're certainly making good use of it and we've lots more bookmarked to try.
