Just found the motivation to make another cheeseburger.  I'm using two burgers at a time, so have chomped through 6/10 so far. Just four more burgers, so two servings, to go. They're really lovely and moist.  Proper Birds Eye ones.  Totally tasty.   They must have been priced at £2.13 as the box was short-dated (didn't look) as they sell them still, but at £4.25 https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/300256123
Using the Mr T cheapo cheddar https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/302676607
Heinz ketchup ... no idea why I made that choice, but I did.
    Flatbreads were Mr T too (6 for 79p) https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/291376220

Iceland shopping is on it's way, minus a couple of bits, ironically Iceland has run out of Icebergs :D
    And Tunnock's tea cakes :(
At least the veg lasagne & custard slices are in, plus the frozen mushrooms, just as well because the tin of mushrooms memory was pure imagination and wishful thinking

Lack of lettuce has knocked my planned dinner of gammon salad into touch.
I'll try for lettuce in the Coop tomorrow when I'm out watering at volunteer job

Lunch, there's a fresh loaf due from Iceland, so it's a sarnie, may as well be LO gammon
Dinner, not sure now the salad is kaput, ,could be gammon, eggs & chips. I've LO beans anyway
I'll use frozen chips because the substitute "whites" I received from Asda are not much for good chips, cook OK but not crispy outside
Some are quite large so once I get a lettuce I'll try one as a baker

  • The Boots website was working today so I managed to book my flu jab for early October.

I had avocado on wholemeal toast for breakfast. It feels a bit chilly here today. I need to put on some socks!

    Good morning everyone,
It's back to wet and windy here this morning after a lovely day yesterday. My sis came round for a cuppa  in the afternoon and it was warm enough to sit in the garden.  My son returned from his shopping trip with a copy of the new Jamie Oliver cookbook, we had a good browse and out of the whole book there was only one dish I didn't fancy.  The recipes are very doable without squads of random ingredients and while it is aimed at families many would easily scale down to suit CFO. We are going to aim to cook 1-2 of the dishes each week.
Once I've finished my mug I'm going to make a pan of leek, courgette and potato soup to use up some of the surplus courgettes. I'll cook it in the pressure cooker so it will be ready for lunch. For dinner tonight I'm trying out our first recipe - spaghetti with a cauli cheese sauce and crispy garlic crumb. yum

Lunch change of plan, became a cheese & onion sarnie
The Iceland shopping arrived, I only just had enough freezer space but it's all squeezed in stowed away now
A few new to me purchases to try over the coming weeks, one I'm looking forward to trying is Pizza subs.
I'm hoping they are similar to ones I used to scoff for lunch in a Kilbirnie pub when I was working up there but I've never seen them since

This morning's breakfast was 3 scrambled eggs + 2 toast + brown sauce.  Bread's dated today (probably got 1 slice + 1 crust remaining) and I've four eggs remaining now.

I nodded off about 9.30 last night I think. Woke up at 2.30am and was then awake until about 5am.  Then nodded off until 7.30am.  About 3am I fancied a cheeseburger, but can't use the kitchen after 10pm, so I ate the final flatbread on its own.

Many sweeties have been scoffed yesterday and today - probably half way through that 650g tub already.  I'll probably not get another as they're not that great.  Those miniatures don't really work in miniature sizes like the full sized bars do. My favourite tub is Heroes, these are Celebrations.

Every day Hugh Fearnley Whatever pops up on my telly .... he's such a funny chap.... lives in a complete bubble containing only "his sort" of people.  I don't like the programme/him, but then there isn't much else to watch.

He's always "saving waste" that really only he has/sees. :)

They look like the french bread pizzas you used to get in the 80s.

Remember Findus pancakes? They remind of the 80s too. Like vol-au-vents and those fruit flans you got served at family get togethers. :)

  • I just saw Findis pancakes still exist! Under a new name, haha.

I had a bowl of HM lentil and carrot soup for lunch. I've a craving for custard. I do have a carton in the fridge. I might have it with some banana or pineapple after dinner.

Centre of the universe lol! You were brave venturing into a pub.... I used to have to go there sometimes with work and always got lost in the "scheme" !!!
I tried a crispy pancake a few years ago and either my tastes have changed or they're no where as nice, mind you my Mum used to deep fry them which probably helped. They were a much loved treat at the time.
I do like a French bread pizza, I used to make HM ones often when the kids were younger and let them pick their own toppings.
