I've been keeping my frozen food in one tight corner of a shelf.... didn't yet go to the shops, instead decided to use up my fish portion that's been in the freezer awhile .... only to discover some rude person's over-shopped, shoved my stuff to the back of the shelf on the other side and then filled the whole space with their stuff. No neatness, no care.... and it's just bl00dy rude to move the food of another person.
Also ... no room for burgers until I get "my spot" back. Bl00dy rude... bl00dy rude.... and I've only a guess at who did it.... bl00dy rude that is. Bl00dy rude.
Tea was: fish/sauce portion, half a pack of potato/onion mash and a tin of peas. Might pop down for cheese cake in a bit.3 -

Yes, there are a lot of ways to use/eat cauliflower.... but the elephant in the room is you still have to fancy it
Endless ... I'll never get round to cooking any of them. I like the idea of eating these things, that whole ingredients gathering, clearing the decks, having the right cookware, or dishes, in the right size, getting in the cooking zone, doing it, eating it, washing up, clearing away .... too hard.
There is a Slow cooker curry I might get round to one day. Whole cauli.... huge spud, tin of coconut milk, bit of curry paste. 4-5 hours low.My bold. I feel the same way.I did quite fancy the recent Jamie O idea of using a cauli + cheesy sauce with pasta but that means extra pans & blitzer while juggling space on the stove top plus trying to stop the pasta foaming over. All too much bother when easier options are available to eat the thingI've decided on the tried, trusted & easy cauli cheese using your [PN] ,nuked cheese sauce methodIceland is "missing me" so sent me a fiver discount if I spent over 50 quid. This time my shopping was close to that anyway with restocking some frozen stuff so added a few useful extras, like Hash Browns & custard slicesand tried the discount code at checkout & computer says No. BUMMER. Checked T & Cs can't spot a reason, it's not that important, just annoying

Just move their stuff. Simple.

I've had a PB sandwich and a bowl of fresh fruit this morning. I just went out for a walk. It's quite warm and sunny again here.
I was going to make soup as I have carrots, red lentils and fresh coriander but it doesn't really feel the weather for it!2 -

I'm sure there's some stuff in there from people who no longer live here, but nobody's in control of who has what/where in there.... and you can't have that conversation with people you barely pass in the hallway more than 2x a week.
I'm still angry and won't stop being angry for weeks now. Things like that "proper rattle" aspies. Hate "my things" being touched, or moved, for any reason, by anybody. It's one of the "things".3 -
I had planned on going to L1dl, to get their flatbreads and see what nice quarterpounders they had.... but they don't appear to sell flatbreads any more and only had beefburgers. I looked at their loaves and they were dated 4th/5th. So went to Mr T instead.
In Mr T I got a loaf (dated 7th) and flatbreads. Also 5 bananas, custard powder, doritos, sweeties, 8 sausage rolls. Burgers, lasagne, curry. Also toothpaste. Then I got a hot cornish pasty ... which I ate in the car park before departing.2 -

I've had a silly young starling fly into my kitchen this morning, panic, poo everywhere and knock over things
Good afternoon everyone,
Farway, I was going to suggest the JO cauliflower and macaroni cheese recipe as it was a regular here when the kids were at home. I like as it's not as stodgy as macaroni cheese but still filling. Mine has evolved over the years to reduce faffing - I cook the pasta & cauli in the same pan then add the sauce and bake. (A cheap jar of lasagne white sauce plus some cheese is even less faff.) No more pans than cauli or macaroni cheese.
It's fine straight from the ban too but I prefer a crispy top.
It's a manky day here with weather warnings for heavy rain/flooding. I've not even ventured to the bin! I had very lazy start to the day as didn't wake up until just before 10am which is really unusual for me. I'm not sure how long I would have slept for if my son hadn't knocked my door to see if I was ok and if I wanted a cuppa!
Chinese takeaway style chicken and sweetcorn soup for lunch which my son quickly made on his break. I had mine with some buttered toast. I've pork shoulder steaks defrosted for tonight but haven't quite decided what to do with them yet.

Caron, thanks, your method sounds a good 'un. I'll give it a go todayI may have an ancient sachet of ready mix past bake, if I have I'll use that, otherwise it'll be the PN nuked cheese sauce mixed in, I may top with some grated cheese before it goes in the ovenShould give plenty with LOs for cold CFO breakfastPicked half a carrier of apples, and the blackberries seem to have a second wind, not enough for B & A but maybe soon?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Breakfast this morning was 2 bits of toast and half a can of beans/sausages (Mr T 39p cans), splash of brown sauce.
To minimise my time in the kitchen I spread a tea towel on the bed to do prep. I opened the can and decanted half into a lidded pot to put into the fridge for later/tomorrow. The can is then rinsed and left upside down to drain - later, when it's dry, I'll squash that for the recycling. The remaining beans/sausages I put into a mug. Two bits of bread into a bowl, cut the crusts of the bread through on both sides where I'd cut them in half, so I could still pop them in the toaster as whole, but it'd be easy to tear the toast into half to serve. I went to the kitchen holding: My eating bowl with my two bits of bread, the mug/spoon to cook, a lidded pot to go into the fridge.
Just 4 minutes later and I'm on my way upstairs again, kitchen time optimisedMug/spoon were rinsed out and I had a tea towel on my shoulder to just dry the outside (so no drips). Carried back upstairs: Bowl of hot food + clean mug/spoon.
