Morning all, looking dull and uninspiring outside this morning
Yesterday's Caron inspired cauli / pasta cheese bake worked well. Plenty left for today.
I may have to tweak it slightly as I found it a bit bland, no doubt my choice of cheese and lack of seasonings, a more mature cheese, or even some Blue?
Brown sauce rescued the dish of the day:blush:

Still sorting out another on line order, seems W8rose are lowering min order to £40 now Ocado no longer linked.
I like W8rose quality but price is a bit silly sometimes, have to be picky.
I'm on their "vulnerable" list not that it matters much now most SMs have sorted the deliveries out,
It's nice to have more on line options

    Food today?
Lunch LO maybe nuke  & warm up some LO cauli / pasta
Dinner, thinking of @sda frozen 3 cheese pizza, has mixed reviews so need to try before I buy another

  • It looks like it's about to rain. I need to go out to buy a few bits. I just had a shower and I had a smoothie and a toasted bagel with marg before that.

I have two wraps in the fridge so I might do them with salad and a Quorn fillet for lunch when I get back. I have some salsa or mustard to go in there too.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Glad the pasta/cauli bake worked for you Farway, sounds as though a good whack of mustard in the sauce and more cheese is needed. I can see blue cheese working really well.
The weather isn't quite as horrible today thankfully though the showers are pretty torrential. They are supposed to die back as the day goes on. I've spent the morning pottering, don't seem to have achieved much but feel I've been reasonably busy! If it's dry later I'll do some end of season tidying outdoors.
Bangers and mash for us tonight with mushrooms, garden beans and HM onion gravy. Lunch was crackers with ham, brie & chilli chutney, home grown toms and a small bunch of grapes

'morning from the cloudy end of the country
I've finally sorted the on line grocery order, suddenly my fiver off voucher worked at Icel@nd, so the choice was quickly made.
I chose Monday AM delivery, could've had sooner but no rush here.
Quick panic check to see if I have enough freezer space, yep reckon I have with a bit of shuffling, there's a loaf in there that could be sacrificed defrosted now Covid panic shortages are over
Just to make sure of space I've taken the last YS  W8rose FR gammon joint out to defrost for the weekend's meals

Last night's 3 cheese deep pan pizza was good, too good. I pigged the lot, all 860 calories of tasty cheesy goodness
Def on my buy again list

Lunch today is last LO cauli pasta, nuked to warm up. The taste seems to have matured from leaving overnight, like a stew
Dinner, it's a make freezer space time.
On Covid lock down morning grab it while you can in Lidl, the last Frozen MFO RM roast chicken dinner from their freezer
Just watched a You tube review of it, looks fine. I was wary of nuking it but seeing the video it worked & tasted OK so I'll nuke it

One of my pears ripened, caught it in time before rot set in.
Juicy & slightly grainy. It's OK but was not my choice of pear as it was mislabelled.
I'm not digging up now after eight years waiting for a decent crop :)

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds an ideal cooking type pear then Farway - pear crumble all the way
Bright and blowy here this morning though there are supposed to be frequent showers the sky is clear just now.
Tesco are due soon, a very random shop this week but all stuff we need.
My sister and nephew are coming round for dinner - thai green curry with pollock and prawns with jasmine rice and some bought nibbly bits. They'll bring pudding. Lunch will be a sarnie of some description.
I thought my elder son was coming back from Greece tomorrow evening and I had "organised" his Dad and my younger son to sort out shopping etc. for him before he gets home so he can quarantine. However it's actually Monday evening he's back so my ex would have had a long wait at the airport for him. Just as well I checked oops
  • I had a smoothie for breakfast. I bought turmeric to put in it and I forgot how easily it stains surfaces!

I also had a wrap with a Quorn fillet, lettuce and ketchup.

I made carrot and coriander soup yesterday so I will have a bowl of that later. I'm not sure about dinner. I fancy potato wedges.

I nuked the Mr T 69p lasagne earlier.... they're still good, I'll get another in a couple of weeks.

Next it was banana custard. I'd bought a pack at Mr T and some bananas.  I have a large mug, it's probably just over half a pint and has always been perfect for a lot of CFO cooking/mixing needs.  Today I made up half the custard pack in that mug, then sliced a banana directly into it, then got a spoon and scoffed.

It is also good with a couple of squares of chocolate stirred into the custard  ;)

Last night I scoffed an assortment of items. I can remember doritos and a jam sandwich. It all becomes a blur though doesn't it.

This morning I've had breakfast, 2 slices of toast and 3 small scrambled eggs.  Splash of brown sauce.   I'm using the Mr T cheapo eggs and they're quite small really.  Given free rein I'd be buying the 4ldi/L1dl 10 packs as the eggs are larger and I'd just need two, but it's not worth going to a separate shop for.

    Sunny/bright here.
