I fancy veg lasagne n salad for tea .It's an Iceland one , but is fab with a bit of cheese on the top 😋
That's nice to now, new to me but I've some in my Monday delivery
I went to amend the Iceland order but found my fiver off vanished if I changed it, so left well alone
From my very little experience with online shopping I've found it best to leave the order alone once clicked, otherwise all sorts of things pop up, such as out of stock etc.
Best let them get on with it & sub or omit item. Works for me but I'm not reliant on a certain ingredient turning up or I'll starve

Sunny here along the coast as well

First job was pop the defrosted FR gammon in the slow cooker for tonight
I also chucked in the apple core LO from breakfast porridge, very MSE

Lunch, I have to defrost a couple of slices, depending how that goes it'll be a cheese sarnie or toast & jam
Dinner, using the SC gammon with HM chips, fried eggs & maybe some B beans

  • I got sent a £10 Ocado voucher but when I tried to book a slot they were booked up for quite a few days as their M&S range is being rolled out so people must be buying it.

I had wholemeal toast with ackee and tomatoes today. Delish! I made a green smoothie to have as a snack when I feel hungry again.

    Good afternoon everyone,
It's decidedly "dreich" here today and really quite chilly. Earlier my friends' with pooches popped by on their way for a week's holiday. With lockdown we've hardly seen each other as they live 20 miles away and the dogs were very excited to see me D . They had just been for a long beach walk and were very damp and sandy, I'm glad I decided not to hoover before they came.
We had a smashing Thai green curry yesterday and for once I judged the heat level just right, pretty spicy but not tongue-numbing. I think my son is fancying a chippy tea tonight , I'm not fussed for that and will probably just have a freezer raid instead.

Slightly better offer than I have just received from W8rose, £4 off every £20 spend using loyalty card IN STORE
Bu66ers have just closed my local store so not much chance of using that then :s
Hope you have similar offer Brambling that you can take advantage of, unless it's targeted at customers who have not been in a store since lockdown

The bread slices defrosted just fine, sometimes it goes instantly stale but not this time
Lunch was plain old cheeses sarnie
YS FR Gammon now out of the SC, tasted a wee bit and it's fine. Cooling ready for a few slices with dinner

Mooching around garden, more climbing French beans are ready, maybe have some tomorrow in a bean & tom sauce pasta
I'm fighting other mouths for the beans :(

I had a cheeseburger earlier.  Two of the birds eye burgers I'd picked up late last week, some special price (half price?) as they seemed to be clearing the shelf.  Box of 10 for £2.13, I doublechecked the receipt... because it's easy to make a mistake + you can't trust 'em :)  1 flatbread, 2 burgers, bit of cheddar, squirt of ketchup.  That was well tasty.  They do cook down quite a bit smaller than they are in the box, so two fitted neatly side by side in the flatbread.

I've just got back from the OOD Warehouse.  I went there thinking "hmmm, fancy some sweeties" and I was a bit lucky.  They had stacks of the 650g plastic "tins" of Celebrations, which they said had bloomed, for just £2.  So I grabbed one.  Thought of grabbing two, but it's not far to go if I really want a second.  Opened the tub in the car park and started scoffing.  It was a bit busier in there than usual - I was tempted to get a 32-pack box of Walker's crisps, Katsu Curry... but CBA really as there was a couple in that corner getting in the way, fiddle faddling about and chatting/choosing things.... and he was only half wearing his mask as his massive nose was sticking out of the top, so I left it.  They had some stuff I'd have bought if I had my own house/stuff, e.g. boxes of Homepride Slow Cooker sauces, but there's no point buying stuff I can't use immediately.

Drove to the clifftop and parked up to have a cig, stared at the collection of cruise ships which are parked up just off the beach.  Bigguns they are.  Today there's the Aurora, Jewel of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Allure of the Seas.  Bit 'boring' really if you sit and stare as it's just four distant lumps in the water.

Might bother to do another cheeseburger later; might not. Can never decide.

EDIT: I had another cheeseburger later ... and kept dipping into the sweeties, so I've now had to "hide" the box :)

PN, I'd love an OOD  Warehouse near me [checked previously & there isn't]
Must be like Aladdin's Cave for not too picky [allergies, veggies etc] CFO folk or how & when what one eats

Back in my world, bit dull out but dry. I'll pick my beans for dinner later, and knock the pesky snails off their perches >:)
Lunch, defrost a couple of slices, then LO gammon sarnie
Dinner, with the LO gammon I'm going to try some sort of cheats Carbonara .
Cheats as no egg will be used, basic PN nuke style cheese sauce [more cheese this time] stirred into the pasta / ham / bean mix
I'd like some mushrooms in there but none arriving until tomorrow's delivery so dream on

I try to go in for one item because it's not that big a place and about half of it's just drinks.  No alcohol, just lots of cold drinks and some coffees.  I don't buy the drinks as it's a huge risk to buy something like eight 2l bottles of something I've not tasted before.  I did, once, buy 8 cans of a ginger-based fizzy pop.... it was minging and took me ages to get through it, so I ignore the drinks.

Next there's quite a bit that's cereals and bars/protein bars.  I've no interest in these.

There's always quite a lot of "crisps" but, again, I don't want to take a risk on a huge volume of crisps I've never tried before that turn out to be horrible (been there/done that once).

So then it's down to the miscellaneous stuff dotted about ... sachets, diet meals, sauces, pouches, etc.

It's honestly not as good as one dreams it would be.... it's hit/miss what they've got and they mostly focus on things I've no interest in.  It'd be possible, if I had a house/kitchen/fridge/my stuff to buy more there as I could be more assured at being able to use them up and have space to keep things.... I've still SEVEN large bottles of jalapeno ketchup (which wasn't hot at all) in the car.  I left them in there as it's quite big to lug up the stairs, so the plan was to bring in one bottle at a time, on a "when needed" basis... but that's not happened.  In "my own home" I'd have used some up in chilli and eaten/made more pizzas, but here those aren't options.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Bright and dry here today though on the chilly side.
Lovely looking beans Farway and very plump looking snails!  I picked a large bowl of runner and French beans earlier .The runners will  be frozen as my son isn't keen on them and I cba cooking separate veg for each of us today. I also found a rather large courgette that seems to have morphed from tiny to massive in just a few days!  Farway if you have room a bag of frozen sliced mushrooms for the freezer could be an idea. I like to keep a bag for those moments when you fancy adding mushrooms to something and they are ideal for CFO  .
We started watching the new Jamie Oliver programme yesterday evening and I really liked the look of most of the recipes. The pasta/cauli recipe is obviously a revamp of the one from years ago and it did sound good if you don't mind the extra faffing. I think we are giving it a go tomorrow instead of the one I usually make to see what it's like.
There are more brambles ripe so they'll get picked today, I keep thinking they are finished and being proven wrong! I've a bag of pears in the fridge that are reluctant to ripen so I think a pear and bramble crumble will be getting made over the next few days.
Lamb steaks for dinner tonight,I'll marinade them for a few hours in a mix of red currant jelly, mint, rosemary, garlic and red wine. New spuds, carrots, Calvo Nero and French beans with the steaks.  Possibly crumble and custard to follow. BLT for lunch.

    Breakfast was 3 small eggs/scrambled + 2x toast + brown sauce.
A number of choccies were then scoffed... some after I'd hidden the tub.
Just had the remainder of the instant custard packet + a banana.

I kind of think I probably fancy a burger..... but CBA, so that'll only happen if/when I CBA :)

Slightly overcast here.... might walk to the beach, probably won't.

EDIT: Did walk to the beach, total shuffle of 1½ hours.  Came back a slightly different route - there are lots of exits/steps to get out; once you get to the top you have to guess where you are until you recognise something :)

Another 2 stones and about 20 shells in soak/bleach to add to the pot later.

PN, thinking about the OOD stuff, I suppose like much of the S/m YS items, mostly it's there because no one fancied it at full price so makes sense there's minging items

And that is exactly what is in tomorrow's delivery :)

It was the faffing that put me off, not so much faffing but trying to get timings right with it being my fist attempt
Just had a thought, do I have a tin of mushrooms lurking for a rainy day? Could be, must check prior to dinner
