So jobs go to the people who have most/easiest access to somebody who knows the system and how to beat it and has had time to practice.

I see a job advert, apply, they invite me for interview and I turn up.... I can do the job, my CV says I can do the job, let's talk about the job and specific experience I've had at the various bits of the job.

I've a LM Nut roast jobby which was for XCFO 2018, fed up with looking at that ...

I have a less posh one, an Artisan Grains one.  It was never intended to be my main XCFO, but was certainly bought for Xmas 2018, but, as often happens, I already had far too much food in and never got round to eating it.  2019 I put it into storage, I'll probably end up eating it in 2021/2022 :) but, like you, it'll be at any other date/not Xmas just to see the back of it.

They were £2.69 in Holland/Barrett, but L1dl were selling them at £1.99, so I thought "here they are at that price, here I am.... just do it". https://www.artisangrains.co.uk/our-range/nut-roasts/
  • I had a green juice and a toastie for breakfast and I'm having salad and wedges for lunch.

It's been pouring down all day here. Feels quite autumnal!

    Good afternoon everyone,
No not at all PN though this case it's an internal promotion board . However even with external vacancies candidates are signposted to the format required, what the interview panel will be looking for from them and how they can demonstrate it. Demonstrating specific behaviours using examples of things you have done is a fairly common way to recruit as it focuses on how folk go about things rather than what they  might do IFYSWIM. Anyhow I'll not labour the point and let's move on 😊.
Brambling - nope and nope my family keep me busy enough lol!
Sunshine and cloud here today, there were a couple of sharp showers here earlier and I'm not convinced we are not about to get another.
I'm pooped now after giving the place a thorough hoover and mop through, the dusting can wait until tomorrow though I really could do with finding some oomph and denting the ironing pile as I'm running out of warm weather clothes. After my siesta I'll see if I can muster some energy and even get a few things de-crumpled.
Mashed avocado on crackers top with ham and a salad for lunch. Steak and haggis pie with mash and veg. There might just be some beans ready in the veg patch🤞😁.

My bold It seems it is often the case, especially in the public sector, one only has to look at the current CV19 & Exams shambles to see how that's working out
PN I suspect we both bought our respective XCFO nut roasts around the same time, there was a distant past thread where plans were laid for XCFO
I've checked the timings, takes about an hour, Gas 6, the AB's spuds are less time but Gas 8.
I think it'll be an hour at Gas 6 for both and take my chances, at least the spuds will be hot even if not crispy roasted
Still tipping down, roast is a good idea for the day

    Good evening everyone,
It turned into a lovely afternoon, though it's drizzling now, consequently my clothes remain crumpled! First my elder son popped round to use my printer as theirs' is kaput, stayed for a chat in the garden before heading off with a bag of freshly picked green beans. He had just left when sister texted to see if I was free for a cuppa and a catch up, I was and we sat in the garden for ages before my nephew called to say her dinner was just about ready. Needless to say by that point any intention I had of setting up the ironing board has disappeared. I'm sure I can find something suitably crease free to wear tomorrow that I won't melt in.
HM green beans for me too, I had hoped there would be some runners ready but they are not quite there yet, another couple of days and there should be a good few to be picked. I reckon by the end of the week I'll have some courgettes and there was a small bowl of tomatoes ripe  . Annoyingly though the recent very sunny weather has caused both my pak choi & mustard to bolt so I won't get much more from them.

    Evening all 🙂

thanks for forwarding the rain Farway, it was needed it rained all day stopping about 8pm, if it stays dry I'll try and get some weeding done tomorrow evening when the ground is soft.

Not good food wise today so tomorrow I'm aiming to do better 🙄 due to a lunchtime meeting lunch was a slice of courgette cake from the freezer with a cuppa, the problem with freezing cake slices is it defrosts so quickly  :s. I popped out for an hour before dinner so brought a crusty roll on the way back and had it filled with gammon and piccalilli.

In T Exp I picked up some eggs which just happened to be white rather than brown, W8itrose started selling similar last year, the woman behind the till asked me what type of eggs they were as they were white so couldn't be hens, I said that I could remember when brown eggs were the exception and they were nearly always white when I was a child.  I'm not sure she was convinced 🙄 I was more surprised that they were in a plastic egg box, I'm told there is a shortage of cupboard egg boxes.

Sun's out today, ideal for your weeding Caron. My only weather casualty was the runners had toppled over, no damage & soon back upright
About six ripe figs but surprisingly no more windfall apples despite the winds
Now I have figs to use, never had too many before and from my experience they do not keep very well. Thinking cap on

Last night's roast was excellent, managed to get the timings right.
The LM veg beef roast with glaze was very nice with a sort of meaty taste to it and dense not crumbly like nut roasts, way too much for one, family sized so plenty of LOs.
Expensive but as a XCFO treat it would be fine. I'll be eating it for a few days yet

Lunch, I may try a ploughman's with PB baguette, and fresh figs. Living the dream
Dinner, cold slices of LO LM roast, with salad & HM AF chips

  • I had a sarnie and a smoothie again for breakfast.

I'm making a veggie burger and having it without a bun in romaine lettuce wraps with tomatoes, cucumber, mustard and ketchup.
