sister doesn't understand the need for one but as I tried to explain the cheapest and easiest way to CFO is more freezer space

This is something those who have families/cook for others don't get.
A single needs so much more freezer space than a family.... because anything you buy is omnipresent.
Compariing a family and a CFO:
     - A bag of frozen chips. Family eats them, gone; CFO eats some, bag's perpetually in the freezer.
     - A family sized pie. Family eats it, gone; CFO eats 1/4 or 1/3rd, the box is in the freezer still.
     - A pack of fish fingers. Family eats it, gone; CFO eats some, box is in the freezer still
     - Two bags of frozen vegetables. Family eats half of each bag, two halves in the (otherwise empty) freezer, can eat the rest 2-3 days later; CFO eats some.... two bags are in the freezer for maybe a month.
     - A loaf of bread. Family gets through it in 3-4 days, gone. CFO sees it in the freezer for 2-3 weeks.

Most packs and bags are "family sized" and can/will be consumed in one go.  CFO is only ever taking out a little bit and the packs and bags still exist in the freezer.

If a family has a drawer full of food, they can eat their way through that in under a week.... a CFO is destined to be forced to repeat meals for 3-4 weeks to force themselves to get through it.

A family who is disenchanted with a food can simply eat it and think "won't have that again ever", a CFO has it cluttering up the freezer until they are forced to eat it again.

One of my bug bears about so many houses for sale is the whole idea of integrated kitchens.... somebody else has chosen your fridge/freezer for you, probably with a family mindset.  I often peek in new builds, tiny freezer, vast fridge.  A CFO rarely needs a large fridge and you end up shoving other things in there and using a lot of it as a cupboard. :)  I'd typically have a shelf entirely filled with empty plastic takeaway boxes, because they needed to go somewhere so that was handy.

I've started exercising using my trampoline the past few days and it's making me so hungry. I just had a vegan burger in two pitta breads with salad and gherkins and ketchup. I'm still hungry!

I'm making chickpea salad for lunch today.

    Morning all
A sudden decision, an online YS. Spotted on MSE today, @sda cupboard filler box, £15 delivered [was £25] some bread items soon OOD.
No probs in CFO land, especially in CFO Two Freezer land.  The only item I will struggle with is shower gel but even that will get used eventually

Talking of bread, I've just taken two slices out to defrost for lunch, probably use up beans on toast, I may sprinkle LO use up grated cheese on top
The cheese grater box keeps grated cheese well, at least it has for the couple of days I've been using it. One more item I never knew I needed
Dinner, more use up LOs, this time it's the salmon & veg pasta from a couple of days back

More pasta & sauce on the way in my YS box :D
Depending what they are I may oik out some frozen mince for a spag bol
Yesterday's double salmon oven cooked OK, it was quite nice but not a CFO repeat due to packaging

    Good morning everyone,
I use as much if not more freezer space now I'm CFO than I did when I had two hungry boys at home, especially as I bulk buy meat a few times a year. Living by himself (usually) my younger son gets the CFO food challenge, my elder son not so much as he's with his fiancée. On the subject of freezers the next few days is the sort out the smaller freezer challenge. Its full of tubs and bags so will take longer and have greater potential for UFOs than the bigger one did!
A quiet day yesterday, extra meds and an early night seem to have done the trick and I'm no longer weaving like a drunk this morning. My son was trying not to laugh (and failing lol) at my crab-like creeping yesterday!!
Tesco is due soon so once the shopping is wiped and stashed I'll make a start on the freezer. Lunch will be a sarnie of some description. My son will have his usual chippy tonight and I'll see what I find in the freezer while I'm unpacking it.

Just an update, my YS £15 @sda box due tomorrow, time TBA by text once it's on it's way
I'm in anyway, then I've the W8rose delivery on Sunday morning, busy weekend putting stuff away
The @sda box will be like a lucky dip to me, there's tinned fruit in it as well, only need a tin of Carnation & it'll be the 1950s again

Tin fruit usually peaches and evaporated milk a summer pud or a treat for Sunday tea when we were growing up :)  my older siblings weren't meant to play with the children next door as my mum said they were common, they had newspaper on the table and there was always a tin of condensed milk with a teaspoon in it to help yourselves and of course the ferrets in the kitchen as Mr was a poacher  :D it should be noted that we were poor as well my dad was only a farm labourer :D  They all ignored my mum and my eldest sister was friends with one of the children for over 75 years :)

Caronc I'm glad you're feeling better,  the crab is a change from the donkey!

I popped to T Exp for milk and fruit lunchtime and they have put a security guard on the door as opposed to one of the staff manning it, the guy behind me had no mask and I could hear him being asked about it but he was allowed in but other than staff and children he was the only one in there without one.  They did have sea bass fillets on offer so I've treated myself to some for dinner

Lunch was smoked mackerel and horseradish baguette, T Exp are selling tiger bread baguettes which are lovely and very crusty i was fishing crumbs out of my bra  :D.   Dinner will be sea bass, beans from the garden (french and runner) something with courgette and new potatoes

Lol when my balance goes awol I find it almost impossible to walk in a straight line but for some reason side stepping like a crab is easier but looks very odd!🙄
I love tinned fruit with evaporated milk, it was a regular summer pud when I was growing up. My son and I had tinned pears and evap not so long and it was brill. 😁

I may have to wander down the tinned aisle next time I'm in the SM to see if it tastes like I remember  :*
