Hope the water isn't too choppy for your SIL Farway  :) from someone who doesn't like to go out of her depth I'm impressed

I've had a ouch bill from the plumber this morning, new kitchen tap which involved redoing some of the pipe work to fit and two isolator valves for DW and WM, a little more than he quoted but he did warn me.  He was all gloved and masked but it does feel rude not to offer him a drink.  He will need to come back as my stopcock is seized so that will need to be resolved (he is going to install something called a surestop which will allow me to switch off the water) and I've ask for a quote for an outside tap as I'm fed up with filling the watering cans from the kitchen sink.  Working isolator valves mean I can sort out the new DW before the stopcock is fixed.  I'll probably use a small local shop for the new dishwasher a little more expensive than Argos but they will disconnect the old dishwasher which most suppliers won't (i think John L is the only other local supplier which will and I'm not sure if they will do that at the moment).  I'm thinking if they sell a quiet small freezer I may invest but as it will need to go in the corner of the dining room it will need to be quiet, maybe wait and cost the DW first  :|

Lunch was similar to yours Caronc but I used a couple of small wraps and made a cheese, mushroom and parma ham 'toasted wrap' (well in the frying pan) I'm sure there is a proper more fancier name for them and had with rocket salad. Dinner will be a lamb steak from the freezer with new potatoes HM French beans, asparagus and something done with courgettes  :) I'm afraid to check them after the overnight rain as there were several when I watered last night nearly ready to pick, I'll maybe lop them over the fence from a safe distance for next door as I already have 3 in my fridge  :s  I brought filo last time I went shopping and I've feta so I may have to make a courgette and rice filo pie from them tomorrow

Right best get back to work I plan to make some face masks after work I've some fabric and the sewing machine is on the table so not too much hassle, i've brought some disposable ones but they aren't cheap and I imagine the cheaper ones will get harder to get hold of.  My worry is my sister will see mine and I'll end up making her some as well  :|

Hi everyone. I haven't posted on here in a while. :)

I had houmous and olives with pitta bread for breakfast along with a couple of cups of green tea.

I'm having a Quorn fishless fillet with veggies and salad for an early lunch.
Have you had your weekend away yet hun? Was wondering where you were 😂

    Morning all
SIL Channel swim failed after ten hours swimming, he hurt his shoulder, the wind changed to Northerly, he was getting swamped because he could not breathe with the waves on one side. No doubt back in again next year, and he has raised cash for the charity so all's well

Bright day, bit cooler though, main task today is find local source of face covering.
I've some disposables but looking to longer term solution now the rules have changed, should I ever really go shopping again that is
Shame you're not a bit nearer Brambling, I'd swap you DW fitting for face masks
Actually JL is not bad option because they take the old one [for a price & law] on the same van the new one arrives on.
Oddly enough not all use same lorry to deliver & collect old one

Lunch, a fish finger & tartare sauce sarnie I think
Dinner, I'm defrosting an Ice£and trout fillet, first time of trying them, I'll fry in butter EVO, with HM chips & salad

Yesterday's pasta was good, with LOs, pasta was BBE 2015 but no idea why dried pasta is dated. The trial of @sda sauce OK.
I had the first of my runners along with the French beans, cunning succession cropping plan seems to be working
And I noticed my plums are turning purple.Oooer Missus :D

    Good morning everyone,
Well done to SIL Farway I'm sure the charity he is supporting will be very grateful. I hope he's not too badly injured.
Raining again here, my son is tackling the garage stuff now there is lovely shelving to store stuff on. Reassuringly the "ditch" pile seems to be huge so there should be plenty of space to hold everything we do need to keep tidily.
Dinner ended up being very late so it was a quick pie, beans and mash job. Probably veggie pasta tonight unless my son fancies making something more exciting.
I'm off to the greenhouse to tame tomato plants, I may be gone some time........

@Farway not failed just not completed this time.  I have only been open water swimming for a year but have definitely learned in that time that you can plan all you want but it is all weather dependent.  I hope he recovers properly but I am sure he gained a lot from it.  I did one swim event back in September and struggled to put my head in the water it was so rough, since then I have been in far worse.

Having sewn the elastic inside one to the masks I'm not sure you would want the deal Farway  :s I realised when turning it inside out, that what happens if you sew tired.  Is there anyone local making and selling for charity Farway as they are often cheaper than the £5 for fabric masks which i've seen elsewhere. I can understand why they are that much but seeing as we will need more than one I'm glad i've kept the offcuts of fabric now.  I found some pipe cleaners left from when my nephews were small (yes it seems I'm a pack rat  :s) and will try to use them to sew into the nose piece, as a glasses wearer i find the steaming up annoying and wearing varifocal means moving them down the face to sit over the mask causes some blurring of my vision.  Caronc I've found some fabric my sister will like so I may make and drop around a couple to her so I can feel it's my idea  ;)

Hope your SIL shoulder isn't too sore today Farway

The rain has encouraged the courgettes to produce quicker than I can keep up and I picked five good size ones lunchtime, luckily next door was in the garden and I could off load hand over 3 of them as I still have some in the fridge  :#  I also picked a couple of handfuls of french beans and a handful of raspberries but kept those.  i think the runner beans will be ready by the weekend sooner if it rains again  :)

Lunch was a repeat of yesterday, a 'toasted' cheese, parma ham and mushroom wrap.  I've taken a piece of cod from the freezer which i will pan fry and probably do with airfried chips and HG veg

No, it's at the end of the month. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't been away anyway for even a night since last October. :D
