Unfortunately Greenbee our guys wouldn't take it unless it's all in the bin and the lid fully close, the exception is after Christmas.  I'll check with my neighbours next Thursday to see if they have space.  My sister would usually take one for preschool but they aren't allow at the moment

Farway I hope there is more rain due than what we've had so far there is no more than 5mm in the bottom of a bowl outside at this rate I'll have to water in the morning.

I have had some containers / troughs delivered today, the first arrived at 10.30 clearly marked 4 of 4 but no sign of the other three and the driver was "I know nothing"  :o I phone the courier company to be told that 'oh yes it says 4 but we were only given the 1' the other three arrived four hours later  :|  not sure what went wrong as the second truck was definitely big enough to take all four.  I reckoned someone had made a mistake as I was still waiting for the company I ordered them from to get back to me.

I  need to unpack them, hopefully they won't be damage as the driver wasn't that careful with them and one was dropped.  Not sure what I'm going to do with the four very large boxes as the queues to get into the tip are meant to be horrendous, bad timing as I agreed yesterday that my neighbour could borrow my garage for a couple of months for storage as I don't use it (he will move my lawn mower and some garden chairs to the back).  As I wouldn't take money for it he said he would replace and repair its' guttering and facial boards as both theirs and mine are rotting so that will be one job and expense I can cross off the list  :)  but it means the boxes can't go in there.  I think it will take at least four recycling bin collections to get rid of the boxes depending what else I have so that's 8 weeks probably in the spare bedroom unless I go around sweet talking my other neighbours for any space in their bins on rubbish day

Sorry about lack of rain, may I offer you some space in my recycling wheelie bin? We are also allowed to put flattened boxes etc alongside so plenty of space :D
However our tips are now pre booked only with limited number of visits plus registered car number plate recognition local address only to stop pirates from over the border using them
And then complain about fly tipping :s

Easy CFO day today, in fact there'll be no C involved, cold meals only, except breakfast which was usual nuked porridge which isn't really cooking IMO, more heat up
    Lunch, cheese salady sarnie
Dinner, use up gammon salad, everything is cooked, prepped & only needs plonking on a plate

My peas are swelling now with all that rain  >:)   I'll have a good check later to see f worthwhile defrosting another lamb steak fro tomorrow

    Good afternoon everyone,
We still have plenty of rain here, shame as it is actually quite warm and the wind has died back but unless it dries up later I won't be gardening. I could venture to the greenhouse but tbh cba ;)
You can make as many runs as you like to our tip as long as it's car loads and you have proof that you're a local. There was huge queues when it first re-opened but my sis went the other day and was in and out without having to wait. It's not open at the weekend though which is a pain if you're working.
That's me CFO again albeit only for a week! I have my meal plan done which is pretty much the same as it would of been with the exception of spaghetti one night, it's my son's least favourite type of pasta so we have been avoiding it. After lunch I plan to go through the fridge and give it a good clean & tidy. I know I have a bag of parsnips needing used as my son bought them YS when he popped to Morrison's last weekend. I'm toying with making a pot of soup with them to freeze for future lunches.
Earlier my bakery order arrived, a smaller one than I've been buying but including a pack of Scottish crumpets which are like a large, slightly thinner drop scone. They are usually about the size of a large saucer or small side plate but these are huge and more like the size of a salad plate! They are often spread with butter and jam then rolled up but I like mine with butter and grated cheese so with some salad and fruit that will be brunch sorted. I've beef ham (thinly sliced beef top rump) defrosted for tonight to have in a seedy baton roll with onions, mushrooms and mustard or horseradish then  individual strawberry trifle for pud. :)

    Good evening everyone,
It feels strange to be posting here at this time of night!
As it continued to rain for most of the afternoon not much by way of gardening has been done, though it did dry up around 5pm and the sun sort of came out so I got some herbs re-potted. My, originally from the supermarket, basil bought around Christmas time has served well but was definitely past it's best so it has been re-homed in the garden waste bin and I'll start again once I get another pot. I also picked a load of parsley and got it chopped and frozen. I use a lot of parsley in the colder months so like to have a stash to add to soups etc. The fridge has had a sort through and wipe over, my we have a lot of condiments after the merging of two households including several duplicates which are now stashed next to each other! The YS parsnips will be fine for a good while yet so I didn't bother making soup, I'll probably roast some tomorrow and decide from there what to do with the rest. Thankfully apart from the dregs of an overlooked carton of cream which was definitely beyond "on the turn" nothing else needed ditched thankfully. There's some veg that will need using this week but these have been factored into my meal plan and I halved and froze some corn cobs that won't all get used. I'll have a cob nuked steamed with my beef sarnie for dinner in a bit.
All was fine at my son's place, one of his lovely neighbours had cut his very small lawn (if he lies down he's taller than it in either direction) so one less job for him to do. He'll get them a wee pressie to say thank you and see if there is anything he can do for them while he's about.
Now to find out what I fancy watching on the TV...….

You can go off of people  ;) bragging about rain.  It was a hot day, and we've just had about ten drops of rain so I'm glad I watered 🙂

I spent most of the day in the back garden tidying and weeding etc before setting up the new containers, I remembered after filling about 3/4 of each of them that the one I Intend to put blueberries in will need ericaceous compost 🙄 hopefully I'll be able to get some tomorrow.  At that stage I came in as I was wheezing from the compost and hot.  I'll finish tomorrow before doing some work in the front.  I need to work out what to do with the flower bed nearest the road which use to have a cob nut tree on as this year it's not doing so good, I think the soil needs feeding as I've lost several plants this year and at least one other looks like it's on the way out.  Next door had work done on his tree which is next to it so in theory my plants should be happier as he topped half his cobnut tree 🤔 I need my gardening expert sister to come stay and sort it, which I don't think will be anytime soon

food has been a bit on the run today, a quick egg and crabstick salad using LO coleslaw for lunch and cheese, biscuits and grapes for dinner as I was too tired to do justice to the steak I was going to have

    LOL at that phrase.
And onto parsley, I think it may have been you, or someone on here that extolled the delights of fresh parsley, so much so that I bought seeds & sowed some last year, it grew & I had parsley sauce etc as anticipated
This year that plant is now going to seed, I've moved it outside & hopefully it will supply fresh seeds for me to go round again. Very MSE

Dull but warm, bit humid even, so not quite sure on dinner, salad or roast?
Either way I'm defrosting a FR pork chop to go with whatever I eventually decide. I prefer the roast option jsut for a change form the past couple of salad days, but dinner is a long way off right now
Lunch, sarnie of some sort, I've a small bit of LO gammon so perhaps that & ??? sarnie

Lunch here will be salad with leaves & radishes from the garden and whatever I can find in the fridge to go with it.
    Supper will be soup.

I must sow more of the really nice radishes...

Once upon a time I could grow RNRs, now I fail every time. Your post has triggered me into trying again next year

    Good evening everyone,
I've just accidently deleted my almost finished post :'(
Glad the parsley has worked out for you Farway, it's so handy to have a supply and so much cheaper to CYO or in my case plant on a SM pot as I've had little success growing it from seed over the years so stick with this now.
I love a freshly picked radish greenbee but I've not grown any this year. I vowed not to buy any seeds this year and use what I had and I had finished my radish seeds.
After all the rain it's been a lovely day here, it was overcast but warm until mid-afternoon then the skies cleared. I've spent most of it outdoors firstly for a leisurely BYO sandwich lunch with my elder son and his fiancée then pottering about planting annuals.
I heard from IKEA but really just a blah, blah message so no further forward which is frustrating to say the least.
Lunch today was ham & tomato in a seeded roll with mustard mayo, it was really tasty. Tonight it AF herbed chicken thighs, parsnips, carrots and sweet potatoes. I'll nuke steam some green beans to have with it. On a tweak to my meal plan I'm thinking about defrosting some venison mince and pork mince to make burgers & meatballs. My son isn't keen on venison so I'll make the most being CFO while I can.:)
