Chances are Caronc they would have sent out a new delivery to the intended purchaser 🙄 you would have though they would have wanted to get their stuff back
my radish and turnips have both gone to seed without producing anything, annoyingly my sister had the rest of the seeds and did ok. I think it's because at the time of planting compost was difficult to get so I had to use most of the old stuff in my troughs and that combined with the heat, every thing else seems ok except what is in those troughs.
I finished sorting my new planters, they needed a lot of compost and my fruit bushes are planted, my sister came round to inspect and share a cuppa and gossip this afternoon
lunch was the last of the LO vegetable chilli and rice. Dinner was rump steak, chips, asparagus and French beans.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
It's all a blur isn't it. Not "remembered" to come here. Been eating past sandwiches, doritos and sweeties mostly. Went to the chippy on Saturday and tried their "homemade fishcake" and chips. It was passable.... nice and large but not very fishy. It was a flat disc about 4" across, in batter. Passable but won't bother with that again. I need to find another chip shop ... this one's been handy, but now things are opening up more I need to keep an eye out on another to try. What's also been good about this one is I drive there, pull up in front, there's never more than two other people present and I can order from the doorway and loiter outside, then leave/park/eat.
Still not got confirmation of a date to move in to next place, so have'nt been able to start working up to a conversation with current landlady about leaving but wanting to stay another 3 days.... although if I can find somewhere else to go 3 days I'd jump at the chance, but you can't airbnb until 4 July so that's a non starter.
Popped out yesterday, two cruise liners parked off the coast as they're all now empty/loitering round the coast and I knew of a free parking spot + landlady had two separate visitors round so I escaped ... and parked on a clifftop and had a rollie and looked out to sea
I can't believe it's Monday! blimey. Some time this week I need to start taking stuff to storage, stuff I won't need for 2-3 weeks... so I minimise belongings here. Not got much, but I'd rather move with just 2-3 bags than a car wedged full. It all starts to add up. I've an additional bag of food I've bought and my "box with post in" and my winter coats and a couple more bags I collected from storage thinking I'd use what's in them. I've a bag of "kitchen bits" I got from storage, when I believed I could use the kitchen a little bit. The reality has been: since I arrived I've not even unpacked my suitcase as I was so downhearted about everything. It's still here, where I put it down 2 minutes after I walked in the front door.3 -
PN, those parked liners are a bit of a tourist attraction I believe, so it said on TV so could be BS of course.I think there are oil tankers parked further down the coast, Falmouth way?Sunny but humid today, rump steak defrosted overnight, bashed tenderised & now marinating in the fridge for dinnerLunch was going to be cheese sarnie, but seeing PN post about fish cakes has prompted a change.I've some Icel@nd cheapo FCs to hand, couple of them grilled in a sarnie, with ketchup I thinkDinner, the rump steak, with salad. My ND T*sco shopping produced Maris Piper spuds in lieu of bog standard unnamed "whites". so I'll try them as chips in the AF, not opened them yet so hoping they are decent qualityRadishes, I saw on You Tube a method of growing in cells, I may try that, bit fiddly but as I only need a few at time should be fine. Just rummaged around for LO seds, none to be found, millions of tomato varieties thoughAlready the garden needs sorting for 2021, my blackberries have long shots that need training in, may do that this PM.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

I had a break from the internet yesterday, I used to do that once a week and I should get back to it. It's so easy to just mindlessly scroll on my phone all day.
I just had jacket potatoes for breakfast as we had run out of bread and cereal. I went to the shops to buy bread and apples and it's really hot out!3 -
You must be counting the days PN, if I remember correctly you did use the kitchen at the previous place
The weekend passed too quicklyand my PITA was complaining that he wanted to go out silly o'clock this morning definitely one of those times I wished he would use his litter tray 😼 usual work day although working from home meant I could wash the kitchen floor lunchtime after knocking a empty jar off the work top
lucky me
Lunch was falafels in a flat bread with salad. Dinner was also cba spaghetti with wild garlic pesto and a grating of Parmesan cheese I had intended to cook but I was puttering in the garden trying to dig in some 'soil conditioner' into the dry lands at the top of my front garden, I'm not sure one bag will do much use and it was late and I was too hot when I got in to cook probablyLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
I was in bed when last night when I realised I hadn't posted, not that I had anything exciting to report anyway!
The IKEA worktop owner has (fingers crossed) been found, there was a post on FB from a local women missing worktops from her kitchen delivery...…..
Forecast looks iffy for today so not sure I'll get much done in the garden. Yesterday was the same but it was try long enough for my sis and I to get a catch up in the garden at lunch time.
Venison meatballs for dinner and a sarnie of some description for lunch today.

Hot day here again, salad it is, againUp watering the volunteer border this morning, at least it's open air and empty car park so isolation & SD not a problem thereBack in time for lunch, which was very past BBE [Jan 2020] but unopened L's Philly copy soft cheese. I had it in a sarnie with sliced cuc, followed by an appleDinner, salad as mentioned, with baked spud & couple of boiled eggs. I'll smear some of L's soft cheese in the spud for a bit of flavourEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

2 weeks today it should be.
I could've used the last kitchen more. What prevented me there wasn't so much the number of people, it was a combination of other things.... for starters I was expecting to soon be buying something, so it didn't matter as it was the short-term. I didn't have my stuff, just one cupboard in the kitchen, one shelf in a freezer and half a fridge no "stuff" (pans, dishes, the things one'd reach for in one's own kitchen) then you don't think about "cooking", just "getting food/quickest". I did fry a couple of omelettes and used the oven for a couple of pizzas and the toaster I used daily (cooked breakfasts!) and the microwave daily.
I'm looking forward to a nice bit of beans on toast, with/without cheese; scrambled eggs on toast, with or without beans. Some frozen Mr T ready meals.... so I'll still be keeping it simple. But, there, people did their thing and immediately washed up/dried up/tidied away, it was spotless all the time. Nobody left stuff on any worktop ever.
I used to use the plates/cutlery there, ex-hotel there was piles of it; everybody did that. I'll be finding my own in storage and taking it with me. My bowl, my plate, my cutlery, my frying pan ... I do like "my" things; I've never been good about touching/using anything belonging to somebody else, "sharing" isn't for me. I'll keep it all in my room and take a little bag of what I need down (2 flights) each time I'm to cook. My stuff, in my room... how I like it (probably autistic-related).0 -
So far today I've scoffed my way through:
2 rounds of paste/cucumber sandwiches; a tin of mandarin segments; a jam sandwich; some pastille sweets; a pack of doritos.0 -
Good evening everyone,
Hopefully it will all work out PN and it wont be long until you are feeling a bit more settled.
Wow it was hot earlier but from mid afternoon we've been on a weather warning for thunder storms for the next 36 hours. None here so far but apparently it's not far away though of course depending on it's direction it might miss us. I debated whether to water the garden and eventually decided to do so as the pots were so dry and the deck & greenhouse needed doing anyway so of course it is raining now though pretty lightly so far.
I got a little done in the garden though not as much as I would of liked, better than nothing I suppose.
However, with no thanks whatsoever to IKEA, the work tops are now with their very delighted owner! Transpired we live in the same road but around a mile apart and with very different numbers and post codes so how they ended up with me remains a mystery. The rest of her kitchen is supposed to arrive next week so I'll know who to contact if random items appear lol.
My nephew popped by for a bit, he'd been out for a walk and decided her couldn't wait until he got home for the loo so quickly detoured here for relief!! It was nice to get a 121 chat which I've not had since him & my sis moved back home while his health still isn't great overall it's much better which is great. He's trying gradually to build his fitness up, just walking just now it's a start and he's enjoying the good weather but missing his mates none of whom live locally. Like squillons of other young adults he just needs to find some work now until he hopefully goes to uni in 2021.
Lunch was a bit of a use up before my shopping arrives tomorrow, the last seeded roll filled with the scrag end of a head of lettuce, cucumber , tomatoes and some definitely heading towards super whiffy but very tasty small wodge of gorgonzola. The venison & pork meatballs I made yesterday while I was making the burgers have been cooked in the AF most I'll freeze in CFO quantities and some I'll have tonight with spaghetti and a mushroom, spinach & pesto sauce.
