Farway I was speaking to a colleague today who said the blackbirds we're enjoying their cherries, they had long decided they only got the benefits of the blossoms and the birds got the fruit as the tree is too big to net

Caronc you're be missing your boy  :)

My raspberry plants were delivered today, the delivery company had to take a picture of the packages in front of a open front door.  My new planters arrive tomorrow so I'll be busy sorting them out on Saturday, let's hope I got my measurements rights.   I dropped my sisters' raspberries off to her tonight and was allowed through the house to sit in the back garden and inspect the work they have been doing during lockdown with a cuppa 🙂 my eldest nephew gave me a big hug as I was leaving he said he wasn't waiting until the weekend for me to join their bubble 😁 my sister was a bit twitchy but he said it's been too long since I've had one, I have missed it 🙂 she then worried as youngest nephew goes back to working in a shop Wednesday and she works with little children so I'm more at risk from them than they are from me 🙄

lunch was the last of the gammon with Brie and crackers, lunchtime I made a vegetable chilli for dinner so it had time to cook slowly I added a tablespoon of peanut butter to add a nice favour to the sauce, I had forgotten the big green chilli left in the freezer from last year was hot 🥵 the rice/ quinoa mix I had with it helped to cool it down.  As usual there's left over which will mature enough to need a dollop of yoghurt 😳 it was one way to use up all the odds and sods of vegetables

Just checked the weather radar, my, PN & Brambling's rain is just leaving France and will arrive after lunch, so I'd best get cracking & feed the plant pots PDQ

Last night's dinner was fail, felt bloated and skipped dinner eventually finished up with a bag of crisps about 9 ish.
So like a child who doesn't eat their dinner, I've got last night's dinner tonight
I may go for fish finger & mayo sarnie at lunch time, fishy Friday for once
Dinner, as above, LO gammon, HM coleslaw, HM new spud salad + usual salady bits
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

    Good afternoon everyone,
How odd CG, had the carrier maybe left it in your box for one of your neighbours?
A hug, how lovely Brambling. I'm waiting not so  patiently until I can give my elder son and his fiancée one 🤗
Rain due here late afternoon but its been nice so far though very, very windy. I got some more pot tidying up done in the garden and during his lunch break supervised my son move various large pots to where I wanted them to go so I can work on them, weather permitting, while he is away. The weather is supposed to improve on Sunday and if it does my elder son and his fiancée are coming over for a BYO sandwich lunch in the garden.
Lunch today was brie on crackers with fresh peas and cherries on the side. Dinner tonight is tbc, my son will probably get a chippy and I'll have a freezer rake.

Farway I hope there is more rain due than what we've had so far there is no more than 5mm in the bottom of a bowl outside at this rate I'll have to water in the morning.

I have had some containers / troughs delivered today, the first arrived at 10.30 clearly marked 4 of 4 but no sign of the other three and the driver was "I know nothing"  :o I phone the courier company to be told that 'oh yes it says 4 but we were only given the 1' the other three arrived four hours later  :|  not sure what went wrong as the second truck was definitely big enough to take all four.  I reckoned someone had made a mistake as I was still waiting for the company I ordered them from to get back to me.

I  need to unpack them, hopefully they won't be damage as the driver wasn't that careful with them and one was dropped.  Not sure what I'm going to do with the four very large boxes as the queues to get into the tip are meant to be horrendous, bad timing as I agreed yesterday that my neighbour could borrow my garage for a couple of months for storage as I don't use it (he will move my lawn mower and some garden chairs to the back).  As I wouldn't take money for it he said he would replace and repair its' guttering and facial boards as both theirs and mine are rotting so that will be one job and expense I can cross off the list  :)  but it means the boxes can't go in there.  I think it will take at least four recycling bin collections to get rid of the boxes depending what else I have so that's 8 weeks probably in the spare bedroom unless I go around sweet talking my other neighbours for any space in their bins on rubbish day

Lunch was some HM KFC chicken airfried with sage, thyme, onion and garlic powder added to the breadcrumbs with HM coleslaw and some salad.  Dinner will be LO vegetable chilli and rice probably with a dollop of yoghurt on top as it was hot last night and has had time to mature

@Brambling - I've had rain. Not a huge amount, but a couple of proper showers rather than drizzle. Also do check you recycling. We can't leave extra rubbish out, but it's OK to leave big bits of cardboard (flattened) out behind the bin on recycling day. If you were closer, I'd have them. My hotbin is eating cardboard at the moment!
