Sun's out & daffs are still uprightInto L's for usual Tuesday mooch, and necessities such as chocolate not Kit Kat fingers & not Penguins, also a pack of "easy peelers" on offer, now I've gone back to citrus via the blood oranges offerPlus YS 20p loaf & ditto RM fresh fruit salad. Checked receipt post packing, the YS 20p loaf had rung up at 75p despite me, as usual, ensuring the YS label was on top & very visible. 55p handed back no problem. However this time there wasn't a "free" LO choc bar in a trolley
But once I was home & scanning my shopping [Shop & Scan user] I found my cucumber had not been scanned & thus paid for, so this week it's a free cucumber
I'd prefer the choc if given a choice
Lunch, cheese & free cuc sarnieDinner, gammon steak out defrosting, I'll grill that and have it with HM AF chips, fried eggs & grilled tomPasturesNew said:Talking of leftover pizza, that reminds me that I was in Sainsbobs the other day and they have a pizza counter where they make up a pizza for you - and for £1 they'll cook it! The trouble I find with this is there are no instructions, they rely on you knowing what's what.... and I do find these staff tend to either be surly, or have the "efficient attitude" of customers knowing what they want and they're there to serve, so it gets awkward if you start asking questions and trying to process the information in front of them.
My disability means that I am super slow at processing inbound verbal information, which isn't good if you're asking how it works, what the choices are, then having to process that information and work out what you want and then be able to form the words to ask for it; another bit of my disability means that I struggle to speak at all in some environments and under some conditions, so trying to process the information AND think/decide AND then be able to coherently form the words is sometimes outside of my abiilty... so it's usually best just shuffled past as a nice idea, but I daren't/can't "just ask"Probably "Old fashioned" but I prefer to sit down, have someone take my order & bring it to me at a table. I once tried to order a roll of some sort at a stall in a shopping centre, probably on same lines as your Sainsbobs, I gave up, the bloke could hardly speak English which compounded the matter. Went in nearby pub & had a pastie, job doneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5 -
YS quest was fairly pointless as we were too early and had to get back for the physio, but got a nice pork chop for tea and an 'end' of Brunswick Ham (84p). Morrisons was not good at all, they moved the entrance and I had to negotiate my way past the undead who were simply not paying attention to where they were going. And there was no heather. And all their price labels are now yellow
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?4 -
Evening all 👋
A very unexciting day and the 'well' timed rain stormmeant not even a lunch time walk, it's now raining hard again.
Lunch was more of my hm chicken and veg soup it's just as well that I don't mind eating the same lunch over multiple days, i was late home from work so dinner was a quick pan fried salmon fillet with some potato and cauliflower croquettes from the freezer quickly air fried and some sweet cornLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3 -
Don't laugh, but I've just had a toasted hot cross hun, with a baby bel in it!Sounds revolting, but was weirdly lush
I'm also a massive fan of cold pizza xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I haven't tried them but M&S have chilli and cheese hot cross buns. Not sure that I fancy trying them 🤔Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2

The pizza didn't get investigated in the end, it was a combination of failing executive function and exceedingly poor weather.
Today I've had: 1 curry noodle pot, 1 cup a soup, 1 packet of doritos, 1 packet of Goodies Organix Banana Puffcorn (random item grabbed at the food warehouse the other week, I think it was a box of three packs of 4 for £1 or similar, so 12 for £1)... they're strange. I do not recommend these banana things to anybody, for any reason.
£1.50 for four full price at Tesco it would appear https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/295460337
I do need to go out and find/eat some hot food soon.... maybe tomorrow will be a Sainsbobs pizza investigation day... might wander in there and stroll past, trying to see/read and observe without being conversationally accosted by a staff member wanting to serve me3 -
CBA with the pork chop as I was a bit tired, so settled down to some ham, cheese, olive bread tomatoes & hummous. Pork chop tomorrow...

After typing last night, I decided to make another cup a soup - the bread's only 2 days out of date, but was fine, so I went for a slice of bread with that and spotted/remembered the jam! Used 2 slices of the bread and had a jam sandwich and cup a soup
That was nice
I think I go out Wednesdays now ... so I think I'm out later. Will look for something hot maybe.3 -
Good morning everyone,
I lost two posts yesterday, fat thumbs I think as I was on my phone!
SMs are a no go area for me these days, the visual processing required hugely upsets the "wonky donkey".
Pork chops seem to abound in CFO land, assuming I'm back to CFO come Sunday that's what I'm having:) .
CG my favourite way to eat HC buns is with toasted cheese on them so I don't think having one with a baby bel is pod at all.:)
The weather is still manky here and we have another gale forecast as coming in this afternoon. It's raining just now but not too heavily so once I've finished my cuppa I'm going to re-stock the log pile before it hits.
I cooked a pan of mushroom soup and a crammed SC full of stovies yesterday. Most of the soup's been eaten but there is a fair amount of stovies LO though my nephew may change that at lunch time. Sis and nephew will definitely be here for another night or two and tonight I'm cooking chicken wings, HM wedges, corn cobs and salad.

I've never used them before but I'm told they give a "hearty" taste to the end result, fingers crossed
I'll bung some dumplings in laterLunch will be another cheese & cuc sarnie, boring but easyDinner, as above, SC beef stew & dumplings, should be LOs for another day
