Seems soup days are here on MFO, my postponed P + ham is now bubbling in the slow cooker for tonight

Now I MUST BUY some kebab sticks!! They seem very useful items to have around for generally pronging things. May even turn out to be one of those things that one wonders whatever you did before you had them

Last night's fishcakes & chips air frying together worked fine, ideal CFO but I doubt a family would fare as well

    Porridge breakfast

Today is going to be a bit catch up home stuff, I've already got the P & H soup on, and made some yoghurt, later as it's a frosty with bright sun day, I'll finish off the garden tidying this afternoon once it warms a bit

Depending on what's available I may complete my ethical meat order while their 20% offer is on, I doubt I'll qualify for free delivery of over £50 but maybe a bit of judicious purchasing versus cost of delivery could see some bangers bunged in;)

Lunch will be a use up last egg in a sarnie

    Good morning everyone,
Yep I reckon you'll find the sticks really handy Farway:)
Sounds like a "wild weekend" Wednesday:), L&P soup should sort you out.;)
It was frosty when I turned in last night but like yesterday it has gone this morning. It's grey, damp & cold and the forecast is for wetter weather arriving over the next 24 hours. After the glorious sunset yesterday I was hoping for a clear & bright morning! I was going to wash my back windows but shan't bother if it's going to rain. Instead I have a couple of small kitchen cupboards I want to sort out as they're not being used efficiently and I want to reduce the clutter in one corner of my worktops.
Lunch is going to be the remaining pork pie & coleslaw with LO spuds. Pea & ham soup here too for dinner and I'm contemplating making some dumplings to add to it.:D

Ooooh, so tempting, sounds like a cunning plan which I may copy:)

Completed my meat order, chucked in a few jars of HM jam, now it seems the checkout bit is busted so waiting on them to fix it:(

P & H soup smelling good, only needs a blitz + some ham bits lobbed in. Decided against dumplings 'cos I've a tasty YS M & S loaf suitable for dunking

Meat order placed, I qualified for over £50 "free" delivery. Arriving Wednesday noon time, probably in the middle of my lunch;)

Bit more garden tidied, the daffs & tulips are showing nicely now, no flowers yet, probably need a cat pooing on them to trigger them :D

Have you tried planting kebab sticks to defer the cat :rotfl: my airfryer is ideal for CFO my niece has a larger family size one which was a black friday deal and when i brought mine she was saying she was dreading it dying before the kids (all in their 20s :)) left home as she couldn't really afford to buy another big one.

Candy i want boots smart enough to go with my work trousers (I can wear jeans to work but don't always want to) but with a low heel as my feet and ankle joints can't wear heels all day :o

I worked rom home today but should be able to go into the office tomorrow as our office is on the 5th floor so above the water leak. His lordship will miss me and lunch he talked me into  but it's nice to have a lie in this morning and be finished and home at 5pm, i was also able to pop out lunchtime and pick up cat food I left too late to pick up yesterday :)

Lunch was a chicken salad wrap followed by fresh pineapple and mango. Dinner will be LO veg from yesterday with some of the veal shoulder.

    Good evening everyone,
I've finally got my new laptop pretty much set up how I want it :D , but had a bit of faff getting logged onto MSE this evening! Hopefully sorted now but we'll see what happens tomorrow;). Still playing about with font sizes etc. and getting used Windows 10 (again) which I had before when it first came out and wasn't keen but needs must
The two cupboards were thoroughly cleaned out apart from the back of lower shelf on one that without getting on my knees, which I wasn't up for (or down for as I'd would probably still be there :rotfl:) , I just couldn't reach. I wrapped a wet cloth around a long wooden spoon and gave it a good squish and that will have to do. I found the blender attachment for my old Kenwood which I forgot I had, my son wants it, and various bits for my previous food processor which was "adopted" by my sis several years ago so she can get those. Apart from those, several funnels (sorry son I thought you had pinched them :o) and a measuring spoon that's been "missing" for a while there was a lot of random bits (now binned) as well as the stuff I knew was in there as I use it fairly often. Needless to say there was plenty of room for the counter clutter, a few other lurking bits and there's still plenty of space. It's funny but it's things like cluttered cupboards that are bringing it home to me how much of a struggle my last 18 months or so at work were even if I hadn't clocked it at the time. It's good to know my health & head are now in a place where I can gradually sort this out - I used to be a really organised person!
Between sorting the cupboards, giving all the unit fronts a thorough clean and laptop faffing I've abandoned making dumplings to have with the soup. Even though they don't take long to put together I cba. I'll poach an egg to serve on top and have crackers or bread & butter with it (no nice M&S loaf here unfortunately Farway :( ).

I think when things start to happen gradually we don't realise how difficult they have gotten for us until we can look back after the event (if that makes sense)

It's took me a while to get use to my work Windows 10 laptop and more than one plead for help to the 23 year lad in the office

Yesterday was a bit of an odd one.... as I've resolved to "stay out of sight" of my LL as I've no desire to interact at all ..... and she stayed in all day, which put the kitchen out of bounds to me "in case".

So yesterday I ate: 2 packets of crisps and a pack of wine gums.

I was also a bit short on drinks, managing only two coffees very early morning (she's not habitually an early riser).

I do have food that could be eaten in my room, e.g. tins of fruit, honey nut cornflakes, but the crisps/wine gums kept me going so I didn't have to seriously think about food :)

I probably need to investigate more "wettish sandwich fillers that don't need refrigerating" that can be slapped into flatbreads. I am actually out of flatbreads at the moment as I'd finished the last pack and had declined to buy another pack at the time, thinking "if I get some in 2-3 days' time they'll have a longer date".

Ideally I'd have a flask in my room, but I can't buy one as I've got four in storage bought in years gone by when I've felt I needed a flask, then never actually got round to using them (except one). So I don't want to spend £8-10 or so on something I've already got.... I do plan to probably buy a little kettle, so I can boil water in here (could live off 36p L1dl pot noodles then). Not sure where it'd go though.... I need to find a safe/secure place for boiling water/kettle + it needs to be "hidden" so LL doesn't know I have it as she might question it, or think I'm even weirder than I am :)

    Good morning everyone,
I do hope you find a house soon PN as your current living situation cannot be good for your physical & mental well being <hug>.
Last night's soup was delicious and a dumpling wasn't missed - it's pretty rib-sticking as it is.
I'm helping my DIL-to -be this afternoon with her CV and cover letter for a job she's interested in. She's told me to be brutal in my critique  but I'll aim for constructive :rotfl:
Soup for lunch and tonight I'm having some of the ham hock meat (for a smallish hock there was lots of meat:) with leeks in cheese sauce, sprouts, carrots and spuds. I'm going to pretty much cook the meal ready to reheat to avoid hitting cba-mode later. After the most recent "wonky donkey" visit I'm finding come evening my oomph is awol so will see if this helps.
It's grey & damp here with rain due this afternoon, it's much milder though than it has been though still on the chilly side.
