It's grey & damp here with rain due this afternoon, it's much milder though than it has been though still on the chilly side.
L's first thing, saw nothing I fancied, and the YS section has gone AWOL again, came out with just one head of celery, even L's will not survive on that spendLast night's soup was delicious and a dumpling wasn't missed - it's pretty rib-sticking as it is.Soup for lunch and tonight I'm having some of the ham hock meat (for a smallish hock there was lots of meat:) with leeks in cheese sauce, sprouts, carrots and spuds.
Mine will be ham, frozen chips, fried eggs, mushrooms fried in EVO + butter & grilled tom. Yours sounds tastier TBH but it's a bit far for me to pop round;)
Blood test on way home from volunteering, luckily it was before the chippy opposite GP's opened, lunch was therefore cheese & HM pickle sarnieEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Today I had that L1dl own brand 36p pot noodle. To be fair, for the price, it wasn't too bad. I'll be getting stocked up with a few at that price.
It was 388 calories though.
Today I've had: 1 pot noodle and the rest of the wine gums.
Going out in a bit, if I CBA I will slow down past a chippy on my way home... or, depending how I feel later, I might visit the nearest L1dl. I am going 1 mile. The nearest L1dl is about another mile along the road, so when I come out of the building it's a question of whether I turn left/home, or right/go for it. If I get to L1dl it's to get more pot noodles, search for instant mash (in case that branch has it) and flatbreads ... and maybe look for small tins of sandwich filler that's very similar to the WW 3-packs of tuna+stuff. I've had those in the past and they're nice, but pricey. The full RRP of the branded ones is £2.69/3, so 90p a tiny can... but I've seen them in places like Home Bargains in the past a bit (lot) cheaper. I used to like the coronation tuna one and the tuna/sweetcorn one.

Good evening everyone,
Well I'm having the hock meat for dinner but there the similarity ends.

It's been raining on and off since lunch time and I don't think it got properly light all day, it is definitely milder but still pretty chilly this evening.
DIL-to-be's cover letter has been reviewed and feedback given. For a first attempt she did a really decent job so just a few tweaks needed. I hope her CV is as well thought out.:)
Tonight's dinner is all prepped and just needs assembling and reheating. There will be spare leeks in cheese sauce and ham so some combination of those will feature tomorrow unless I succumb to a "Farway special" and freeze the leeks.Certainly lunch tomorrow will be some more of the P&H soup and there will still be lots for the freezer. Some tetris may be required to squish it in but it's hard to make a small amount of the stuff and it's too good to waste so squished it will be;).

Definitely a tired and grumpy day today, my asthma kept me up during the night so I was feeling blah today, not helped by no lifts at work and we're on the fifth floor  which isn't usually a problem but I was on limited breaths
Lunchtime I watched an old lady nearly knock over the guy in front of me on the zebra crossing in Sainsbobs car park  I don't think she deserved quite the steam of abuse he shouted at her although she didn't help by rolling down her window and asking what was the problem with her car half on the crossing and no idea she was on one:eek: I'm afraid i walked away as he started swearing again  my mood wasn't helped by half my prescription missing from the pharmacy, as it turned out not their fault but my doctor surgery but took all my lunchtime to sort and I'll have to go back to pick up my thyroid tablets "hopefully by Friday" luckily I have a couple of weeks worth left
Lunch was veal and salad wrap with plenty of horseradish and dinner LOs chicken and veg so no proper cooking todayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Yikes Brambling what a rubbish day <hugs>- your Sainsbobs car park sounds like our local Morrison's ones - full off drivers who would never pass a test again who brag they've never had an accident and lots of Mr/Mrs Angry folk. Never a good mix.
Just as well you have a cache of tablets - "hopefully" is never that reassuring when it comes to meds!!
Hope the asthma settles - if not a "working from home" request until the lifts are working again might be an idea?0 -
One lift fixed by home time Caronc so hopefully it will be still working tomorrow.
The annoying thing about the tablets is I was ordering the thyroid ones and just added my inhalers in to avoid going back during the next three months as I had opened my spare ones  it would have been nice if the surgery had apologised for the mix up:cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Do you like tinned mackerel, the stuff in sauces is usually cheaper than tuna and at 125g enough to fill a couple of sandwiches? Could be an option if HB etc. don't have any.0
