Cooking for one (Mark Three)

Are you in your new place PN?
Yes... and I don't want to moan, so trying to put a sock in it... but I've made a mistake and can't get out of it for 6 months.
I was between a rock and a hard place when I had to make a decision, but I won't be happy until I've gone.
I don't expect to be cooking... a fast ready meal at most.
I struggle to use others' kitchens.... and am OCD about "my things" and "clean" and "tidy"..... I appear to be with somebody who abandons everything in the kitchen and never puts it away... washing up still on the drainer 5 days on, food still there after 3 days .... makeup, boxes, bits and bobs... all scattered over every surface.
So I am too daunted to even go in there.
It's not "dirty" as such, just cluttered, messy, and inconsiderate.
I also never have any desire whatsoever to have any conversation here.... so will spend my time ducking and diving and staying hidden away0 -
Good evening everyone,
Happy Hogmanay:beer:
I suspect 2020 is going to be an "interesting" year .......
2019 has ended on a positive for me with a letter through the post advising my disability benefit has been reviewed and renewed unchanged for five years:D.
It will be a quiet one for me, my son may or may not head out depending on if his pal gets finished work before the "Bells". If he does I'll be in my bed well before midnight with a cuppa and my book.
Prep as far as it can be for tomorrow is done so I'm for a leisurely start to the year tomorrow morning.
Lunch today was croissants stuffed with brie then baked with salad and dinner "Balmoral" chicken (chicken supremes stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon) with flat mushrooms, green beans from the garden then frozen, HM wedges and peppercorn sauce.0 -

When I returned from being away, I got the usual gift of a bag of food that my host wouldn't be eating "going on a diet"... as they say.
In the last 3 days I've eaten: half a loaf of bread + a pot of sandwich filler; lots of chocolates; bag of doritos, 5 small sausage rolls. I think that's it.
CBA to go out food shopping, nor do I have any desire to think of food/cooking whatsoever....0 -

I feel for you, been there. And some would think living with musicians would be several orders of magnitude worse but it isn't, architects are the worse
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
Better eating out than eating in by the sound of it

PN, so sorry about what you've found. On the plus side at least the better weather will be on it's way so given your area things / places should be opening up for "not being in the house"
I was in bed before midnight, woken to bangs of course, at least that's all over now.
Seems only yesterday the Millennium banged in and we were all going to die from Y2K software glitches, now we are all going to die from Brexit:D
Last night's HM C + O pasties turned out super, I've two LO so it was quite a cheap meal even using YS ready made puff pastry. I need to work on my edge crimping though, a couple of popped pasties overflowed onto baking tray:o
Porridge & sliced clementine + HM yoghurt + honey for breakfast
Lunch, I think a cheese & cuc sarnie, the cuc is at it's use up stage
Dinner, the beef has defrosted so it's pot roast time later. It's big lump, over 1kg, so will last for a few days. And with my pasty crimping skills needing practice maybe use LO in use up odd bits pasty?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
All the best for 2020 everyone:beer::beer:
Beef here too today Farway, my piece is on the bone and 1.5kg, with the four of us I'm not sure there will be much by way of LOs but fingers crossed there might be a smidge spare for sarnies or pasties.0 -
I've had a satsuma, brought back with me from Xmas trip. Just brought the one.
EDIT:
Lunch was 2 fudge sweets from the 600g tin of Roses I brought back.
I'd taken a 600g of Heroes, host had a 600g of Roses. We both had quite a few over Xmas, then I ended up with the combined remnants.... probably about 750g in total.0 -
I had a quiet NYE, I was in bed at 12.15.
I've just been for a walk to buy loo roll and kitchen roll and had toast with houmous when I got in.
It's a horrible and dark day out there. Cold too. Well, it is winter, I suppose.0
