Had to go through stuff to bin today which is something I've never done (apart from the odd overripe loaf in summers past) But in my condition I can't really take the risk - I've traditionally had a very strong constitution, but chemo completely negates that. In fact in general chemo is very non MSE. So my short unplanned hospital stay threw everything in the air. One thin slice of ham got binned, about five really nice chipolatas and some cheese might have to go. Smoked salmon was use by today but I had some pittas & eggs so had scrambly. Cat made it back from the vet just in time to partake. Will be sampling the cake again tomorrow after (I hope) the supermarket run.Everyone forced to go to the vet gets a share of roast chicken from the deli counter (so that excludes Mrs Un who merely ferried us there..)
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
Iceland have cheese on offer, PN, mainly, £4 Kg comes in 500g block for 2 quid, mine's long dated to Feb 2020. I bought two
Also bread on offer, not my usual buy but at 50p who cares, sliced 50/50 white just right for crisp sandwich;)
Yesterday in Home Bargains I picked up a microwave pouch rice, don't usually like those, but not got any regular rice at the moment as it'd be a "moving around" overhead/annoyance. For tea last night I nuked that pouch and used a long/knickerbocker spoon to eat it out of the pouch.
For lunch I'd had kebab meat in a flatbread.
I picked up beans and flatbreads while out yesterday... and sweeties and doritos. Also scoffed all the sweeties and 2 packs of doritos0 -

Weather here is a rinse and repeat of yesterday with some drizzle thrown in for good measure. I'm "unsteady eddie" again this morning but provided the dratted donkey doesn't kick again it's just a case of (sensibly) working my way through it. My nephew is coming round tomorrow to do some high/low cleaning for me and any other bits I need doing which will be helpful. As he's a skint student I'll make sure he's well rewarded. My younger son arrives tomorrow afternoon for a couple of days though he's out in the evening with his local pals as one of the lads is back from America for a visit.
Pasta LOs for lunch and chicken wings, roast veg and sweet potato wedges for dinner.0 -
No point in taking any chances unrecording your health is way more important than wasting a few ££s :money:or not.
Yes, going from 'no compromise' ethics to 'very compromise' is a bit of a journey, and I hate waste. I've managed to adjust though. Bread that's turning is edited and given to the crows, as are eggs past their best. And of course the cat is the best arbiter, she's a fussy little bundle at he best of times.

I'm feeling hungry again today.
I had two slices of toast with marg and a strawberry milkshake.
I then had some Violife cheese with T*sspots multigrain crackers and a few olives. I squeezed some oranges to make juice too.0 -
Another day with similar weather to Caron, dull, bit wet, but warmer
For once my early mooch in L's went well, the weekend offers are some I can actually use, but mine had oranges in place of ham stuff, which was good 'cos I like oranges & don't like antipasto ham:)
I bought one of everything :money:only downside was zero YS again:(
There is a packet of fish fingers lurking in the freezer, so 3 of them in a sarnie for lunch, and I opened my thinking ahead & safely stashed new jar of tartare sauce to go with them, looking at you Brambling
I enjoyed the !!!!!! so I'll use the last of them for dinner, with HM chips & nuked peasEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
I'm grinning at the image in my head of your cat acting as "King's taster" unrecordings.:rotfl:
I've not had !!!!!! for ages Farway I must get some again soon as a FF butty is hard to beat.:D
Pottled my way through some admin this afternoon and gave the bathroom a quick swish round. That's been about the extent of my activities for today. I'm hoping to have some more oomph tomorrow.
Dinner just needs bunging in the oven, I've not had chicken wings for a while so I'm looking foward to them.:)0 -

Doesn't always work, sometimes I get a false, positive (or negative if you know what I mean) but for the stuff she likes - chicken, yorkshire cured ham, mild smoked salmon, voles, she's a good indicator and at least she's stopped trying to kill me on the stairs.
