Good morning everyone,
Hope your arm is ok PN <hug>
It's quite mild here this morning but gloomy and drizzly, I'm not feeling fab so think I'll stick to the house today. My dining room has become a dumping ground for various bits from my Dad's so as I want to use the room this weekend my challenge for today & tomorrow is to get it sorted out. Lamb and barley stew from the freezer for dinner tonight with a LO dumpling from yesterday and steamed cabbage. Egg mayo roll and fruit again for lunch0 -
Ah well a wee change of plan, I've decided that I don't fancy lamb & barley stew but what I really want with the LO dumpling is HM chicken, rice & veg soup. I've all the stuff I need to make a pot so after a cuppa I'm off to chop & dice. The remaining soup can cover a couple of lunches this week and no doubt some will get added to the freezer stash:). I'll freeze the spare portion of beef and mushroom stew later, it was lovely but I don't want it again today.
Clearing the dining room didn't take as long as I thought it looked worse than it was:cool:, I still have a huge stack of pictures in a corner but they're out of the way which is the main thing. I need to pin down various family members to see who wants what and then get the rest to one of the local charity shops which is usually happy to take them as folk buy them for the frames if nothing else. I've damp dusted the surfaces and will get it hoovered when I do the rest of the house later in the week. Apart from soup making and popping a washing on I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day and try and shift this lurgy which is no worse than yesterday but no better either!0 -
I was so hungry after I got back from getting my blood test. It was shockingly empty in the clinic for once. I only had to wait about 5 minutes.
I had two toasted pitta breads, one with houmous and one with mashed avocado. I sprinkled chilli flavoured sea salt on top of both and then had a packet of ready salted crisps.:)Got a mahoosive veg pizza, n cheesy garlic bread from foodhub last night, for a fiver!! They've got a voucher on HUKD at the mo .Bargain, and scrummy

Soups made and in freezer, cooked load of potatoes in sc with some butter to make and freeze as mash but their was a big power cut in the area - reported on TV - so sc cooker went off, it was on high, and I forgot so when I did go and look they were just starting to turn a bit brown but I mashed em up, made small mounds and froze. Took out this a..m. and put into bag to use when nec. Just put some chicken cubes in Sc with some cabbage/courgette/mushroom/onion and the last bit of sweet and sour from last nights special take-a-way and a jar of same. Sounds a bit odd but trying to use up some of the fresh veg as I go along.0

Hope the arm is ok PN
Your lurgy seems to be lingering Caronc the cold, wet weather can't be helping it
I'm assuming your weather is better than ours today Farway? at least the rain has stopped now when it's too late to go out for a walk, but it's looking very black again
Back at work to over 400 emails and a long to do list from the boss whose off today  I hate Mondays
Lunch was from the freezer a nice vegetable bake with a little mozzarella cheese, I think that's the last of it so I may have to plan to make again as it was really tasty and froze and pinged very well. Dinner will be at Pizza E*press for my sister's birthday I'm hoping to stick to just a main meal unlike my slim hollow legged nephews who will probably have three and I'm hoping my nephew won't have made a birthday cake (he's a really good baker)Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

It was fine for a bit and I was over halfway round when the heavens opened, discovered my shoes leak:(
At least I got a few pics in before the rain came down, I've not sorted them yet but hoping some are OK as I was trying out a new lens so never know
Squelched back to car then onto GC, the cafe was closed, boooo, onto another one nearby which was ideal:j, lovely tea room style
Fish, chips & peas easy and filling so nothing really required for tonight but may have a slice of toast or suchlike
PN, hope the arm is OK soonEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
It's one hand that's completely shot.... this could last up to a week, have to see how it goes. So, foodwise today I've managed:
Flatbread/kebab
Flatbread/kebab
Pack of doritos, small
Spicy meat pizza.
I have no sweeties. It's raining. I don't want to drive with this hand, especially in the dark/rain.0 -
Good evening everyone,
That sounds nasty/painful PN but hopefully it will settle fairly quickly. <hug>
Yikes Farway leaky shoes are never good- need to raid the piggy bank for some new ones. Hope some of your photos turned out the way you wanted them to.
Bother re the mash whmf but at least you manage to salvage it, I've never made mash in the SC these days I usually pressure cook a batch.
Like the sound of your veggie bake Brambling, yep it's definitely a clinging lurgy though not sure if I picked up something else.... After lunch I went for my usual lie down and fell asleep for a couple of hours, I feel a bit better for it so fingers crossed it's on the wane. If I don't feel significantly better by this time tomorrow I'm going to phone the Drs on Wednesday morning as that'll be a fortnight since it first struck and I'd of expected it to be on the way out if not completely gone by this point. After last years shingles shennagins for my son's engagement do I don't want to be poorly for this weekend's 21st celebrations!
Soup is cooked it smells and tastes grand, it's absolutely loaded with veg - 2 onions, 1/2 a large leek, 2 big carrots, garlic, the last 2 kohlrabi, lots of celery, 3/4 of a red pepper and 2/3rds of a large can of corn plus green lentils. If that lot doesn't give my system a boost nothing will.:cool:0 -
Ouch PN, hope your arm feels better asap:)
I'm on an 18 day countdown now until Goa, so am trying to use up most of the stuff I've got in, then I can do my Morrison's Xmas shop, whilst lying on the beach .I hate Xmas food shopping :rotfl:
Have made chick pea n spinach curry today, n leek n potato soup, n there's loads in the freezer now.
Will need eggs, milk , cheese n bread before my hols, but that's about it"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good morning everyone,
OH CG not long now!!
Lurgy lingers but I think it has lifted a bit thankfully.
I'm waiting for a delivery that should be here anytime now, I've things I'd like to be doing but don't want to miss the door so I gave the bathroom a good scrub instead as it is at the front.
The soup and dmplings last night was fab and of course there's lots of soup left so that's lunch covered.
I've chicken pieces defrosting which I'll roast later for dinner, I'll probably have it with a baked spud and the corn LO from soup making.0
