Think I have made a fool of myself - just a bit so that's not too bad.

DS1 was having problems at school with one boy, and I've encouraged him to deal with it himself. He wasn't believed and was called a liar by a member of staff. I was fuming and wrote a letter - tried to stick to facts. I went into school this morning but wasn't able to speak to anyone but his class teacher, and then she still wasn't for understanding DS1 and his friends point of view.

I was just so angry and although I didn't say or do anything out of anger I wish I had said and done other things. Ideally I'd like Ds1 to be able to sort things out but I don't think the school are listening to him.

My plan is to see what ds1 says happens today, see if I get feedback and then make a proper appointment to go into school. Maybe take OH with me so when I get angry he can take over!

I need to get on with my to do list today and get back to being productive instead of angry!

Take it slow, absolutely - good idea to take OH with you next time.

No way have you made a fool of yourself. Not one little bit. I would be fuming simply at my child being labelled a liar.

Have you written down all the incidents, and what you can remember about them? Then you go in armed with a page (or more) of facts to present to them. And take OH too.

What apple said - in fact, I read your post twice, I coudn't remotely see anything foolish, honestly. I think you've got the right idea of the way through this: not to act from anger, but let the anger give you the energy to stand up for your DS.

    Thanks Karma and Apple.

It's been running through my mind. I got a note home from the teacher to say there's been a restorative meeting. From what DS tells me it wasn't restorative at all, but hopefully it will have a calming effect until I can speak to a depute - over a week.

I have got a few notes about what has been said. I can't believe it has been said, honestly, it's that bad!

So after the success of Super Saturday, I am up for terrific Tuesday today!

    Work on OH's business
Sort out DS2 school shoes - hoping I can come up with a solution without buying new ones before the end of term.
    Surveys, ms etc
check tutoring file and tutor tonight

My healthy lifestyle has been great, I think I can make it even better though.

Make a no sugar syrup for my porridge
Make my snack healthier - homous, mozerella if I want cheese, boiled egg.
    Drink water at night
Have a plan for hungry days/emotional eating days.

I think I have about 6 lbs left to go.

Best of luck with all that, earthie, I'm sure you're right to write down as much as you can.

Here's to healthier snacks too! And your no-sugar syrup sounds fascinating. 6lbs left to go isn't much at all!

A grown up's version of what went on in a meeting is vastly different from what the child thinks/remembers. And it is what the child thinks that counts. I do hope that ds is feeling a little feisty about it, as that might give him some confidence that he is right.

Glad you have some notes - well done.

    Hope yourTuesday has been terrific.

Thank apple! I'm going to try and focus on money things here, but life does seem to get in the way!

The weather is against us this weekend! After a beautiful week, the weekend, and most of next week, is rainy. A golf lesson for ds2 was cancelled today (was part of a Christmas present). So we had a playdate here which went well, followed by a relaxing afternoon for them.

I had an enjoyable Saturday getting things done, but I'm concious that I don't want to spend all my time doing 'jobs' and want to plan a few interesting things too. It's hard fitting in with all the boy's sports things!

I've cleaned, changed beds, cleaned out hens, watered garden ..um rain did that actually but I still crossed it off the list!, got all birthday presents and cards sorted until 1st August, made Fathers day cards, freezer inventory and 'use up' random items meal plan for the week.Cooked up some random pork mince in a ragu in slow cooker for later, order prescriptions and checked interest rates on our accounts.

I've made arrangements to help my friends daughter with something for school tomorrow. The friend I was worried about has asked me to help her regularly on a weekday morning and my boss has oked this using up the extra hours I've worked. I am really happy as I want to help her but needed her to reach out to me. And I get baby cuddles :)

I have been approached to teach online for a very very good rate, and although it's only a 10 hour contract to start, I hope it'll lead to more bookings and more money in!

I was wondering how you were getting on with ds' school...

And I'd say that life is more important than money. The money side of things (I typed thongs first! Yikes!) is a good focus, but not when it prevents life happening. And you do seem to have the balance right - go you!

Good that you can spend regular time with your friend, and that work are happy.

Good too about the extra online teaching too.

Fingers crossed for not quite so much rain as is forecast next week...
