Thank you so much! You have given me the confidence to hold my head up high and plough on. The sort of help I've given -a routine chart, ideas for activities, keeping calm, breathing exercises, distraction techniques etc I suppose would come from a mental health team. I do it as part of my job.
My 83 year old father in law got a bit of a shock with all that from me, and my chat about hydration and nutrition. And taking care and beginning to take responsibility and control.
Anyway the reason I'm writing about it is because (although there will be good and bad days) it seems to have worked! We went for a doctors appointment this morning and there were no signs of dementia or cognitive impairment thank goodness. doctor mentioned anxiety first confirming what we suspected. Father in law was greatly improved though and chatting away about his routine and how he was feeling better and wanting to eat again.
I know I must sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet but I'm so happy as I put so much time and effort in. I can't talk about it with OH (he doesn't like talking about his dad being ill)
Hopefully he continues to improve and doesn't get cross with me on his bad days. And hopefully no one thinks I'm interfering.
So in other news I've eaten well, stayed hydrated and exercised. Putting my planner out the night before helped.
I've ordered pe trainers for ds2 with vouchers. I've ordered myself winter boots already as the weather is awful. Just from @sda but they normally last me one winter and for £12.50.
Ive dyed my hair and have a cut booked for tomorrow.

So pleased that there are no signs of dementia. It is a cruel disease.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

THANK YOU! your encouragement means so much.
OH has visited FIL today, and by all accounts he is following the routine we planned out and is much more positive. MIL seems to feel better too.
Haircut this morning was a bargain - £5 for a dry cut and I'm pleased with it. I've gone for a one length lob, the hairdresser thinks my hair is thick enough without layers and it will be eaier to air dry and leave.
I was invited to go to a friends for lunch and a play date this afternoon. I've decluttered the utility room ready for the school bags and homework again. I've played with the kids a lot more today, but it's been quite a quiet lazy day really.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

MIL is bound to feel better. You have improved the "outcome". You have shown her a route to follow to improve their future. You may never get the accolades you deserve from them, family seldom seem to, but you must know the difference you have made.
And no dementia is a definite bonus because that can be a real bummer, because the person you are trying to help is no longer the person you knew.0 -
Thanks sorry for going off on a bit of a tangent there. Fil had s bad day yesterday (lots of appointments etc took its toll) but a great day today.
I was up early and had an overwhelming urge to get organised. I skipped the workout today to just get on with it. I am ashamed to admit I found two mouldy oranges and a very sticky sweet in my handbag. Disgusting!! Totally neglected lots of organisational things so I have a list of
Urgent and important
Important not urgent
Just having it written down like that helps me to focus and I got half of the urgent important stuff done today! Plus a day at work (boo) and a football training tonight.
Work might be becoming stressful if they change or dissolve my department, becoming more likely. Worst case is I'm put in a role I don't like, but I won't lose my job. I could consider working less if I don't like the job. The opportunity is that I continue to work in this job and love it, and they don't change anything.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Hanging on in there and not over spending.
MIL take. To hospital on Friday, she's much better now back home but very stressful.
FILL continues to improve. Lots of effort here by oh and me.
Ds1 and 2 joint party on Saturday went well.
Kids back to school this morning, went well.
Footie training tonight, just put away the duster etc trying to get back on top of the cleaning!
Beautiful sunset tonight over the islands.
Trying to find the tracks so I can get back on them!!
Love to all, missing reading and posting x15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
