Sorry to hear about your FIL. You're totally right though - you'll be no use to anyone if you don't look after yourself. I think stopping the extra weekend teaching at the end of Aug is wise - you're not mortgaged any more, so I'm sure you'll save the holiday money without pushing yourself so hard.

    Take care! x

Amazing news on being mortgage free :D So so happy for you

I missed your birthday :( Hope you had a lovely day.

Sorry to hear about FIL but still make sure you're finding some time for you! It's no surprise you're feeling exhausted. I feel exhausted just reading what you do!

    Take care

Wannabe, Vix, Apple, beanie thank you so much.
Wannabe thanks for catching up and posting I've missed you and your lists!
Definite lack of lists here and just survival mode!

Fil is home and oh is now able to see him quite easily rather than a 3 hour round trip. I have done more excursions and teaching. 3 hours more excursion and 3 hours more teaching to do tomorrow, then more work on Saturday and then I'll be able to go on holiday.

I've painted half of the garden fence and hurt my back :( Oh needed help as he was so tied up with hospital visits.

    Survival mode till Saturday!

That's good that FIL is home - does that mean that prognosis has improved?

Back has improved randomly which is great!

Survived all the teaching and excursions. One student went at 2am yesterday, then I was teaching at 7am, then packing for or hols, then sending oh and boys on holiday as the second students lift was late. Exhausted and annoyed!

Eventually got to the ferry port and kids and oh had got had the ferry, I had missed it and the rest looked to be cancelled due to winds. Eventually got one a couple of hours later, very rough crossing everyone throwing up! Arrived in torrential rain and then found a bus to where I was going. Arrived totally drenched but heard that people were stranded in the ferry port as the ferry wasn't going back, so went back to the ferry port to offer our spare beds. Total nightmare but everyone was safe and well in the end.

    Now to enjoy our holiday!!

Glad your back is better and that you eventually made it on your hols!

That was very kind of you to offer your spare beds - I'm not sure I'd've had the oomph to go back after such a stressful day.

Hope you have a lovely time away!

This week has been very busy and a very unholiday-like holiday!

My mum was 70 and came on holiday with us, and my brother and his family camped nearby so we did things together all day and evening andvthry stayed here one night. It was very good and the children really enjoyed it despite the weather. Oh and I are totally exhausted today. I think we have just been too busy with students, working and then entertaining and looking after others. We took the kids for a round of golf and then a walk then swimming, and that was a relaxing day. I feel like I need a week in bed which I can't have!

I shouldn't work myself to the bone like this and I need to take things a bit more steady.

So my planner runs out on Sunday and I have a new one lined up. It will focus on savings, improving our lives a little and health, being more organised and happier. Love a new planner!

    Savings
I need to allocate savings pots which include clothes, car, travel, Christmas etc.
I need to look at all of the savings accounts interest rates

    Income
I need to get working on ohs business
I still have one more month of weekend teaching
Need to get back into surveys

    Life well lived
Two more weeks of summer hols here and I want the kids to enjoy their time with us so lots of fun cheap activities and trips planned

There is no getting away from it though, to do this I need to think about my energy levels!
