excellent thanks Consumerist, good of you.0

Is it possible to switch (for the sake of a switching incentive!) an account with a zero balance?
0 -
Yes. You may also have to switch some direct debits but the switched balance is irrelevant.
Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

OK, thanks, Consumerist.

My switch was completed earlier this week, and I have just been paid my incentive. Is there anything stopping me from initiating another switch to another bank straight away to get another incentive, so long as I meet their T&C's? Can't see anything about a minimum amount of time I must have the account open, but I have only had it open 10 days or so.0

Halifax account. To qualify:
- Spend £500 on your debit card each month
the MSE website just says " and either spend £500+/mth or keep £5,000+ in the account " implying a bank transfer would work.
just pointing it out as a dealbreaker for me. and I can't get the perc of the others

You either need to spend £500 on your debit card each month or keep a balance of £5,000+ in the account to get the monthly payment.menaistrait said:Halifax account. To qualify:- Spend £500 on your debit card each month

You can only choose one option and you are stuck with it for the year
A £500 bank transfer wouldn't work.0 -
A deposit to Skipton via the debit card does.0

Or, do what I did this morning. Fund an NS&I Direct Saver with £500 using your Debit Card. Then pull the funds out, if you want to, after the funds have cleared (about 10 days later).
