Last night the kids had Mac and cheese with veg, DH was back late (he’s now doing one day a week in the office, dare I say wahoo?!) so he had leftovers. I wasn’t hungry so had a glass of wine and some dry roasted peanuts 😁
Tonight I made a beef and broccoli stir fry, with gyoza and bao buns from the freezer, and a side of sesame prawns 😋Books read 2023 - 49/752 -

Made this chilli with cheddar dumplings today and the dumplings in particular are delicious. I'm definitely going to make them again to add to other dishes, a real find.

I hasten to add that I carefully cut into that one at the bottom of the screen to check they were cooked through when I took them out of the oven, that's why it's looking a little the worse for wear.6 -
Beautiful dumplings @goldfinches.
Mine yesterday were not round, once I had made the dumpling mix I just blobbed them mix on top in bits. But they were lovely. I often make cheese and chive ones if we have a tomato sauce in the casserole or stew.
We had the jacket potatoes, topped with chilli for the meat eaters. I had wedges topped with a tin of vege beans and sausage and cheese. I quite enjoyed it. Then fell asleep for two hours, hence the reason I'm wide awake at 2 in the morning.5 -
Day off from cooking, we're having a treat of a takeaway from the local tea rooms and both having Country Faggots with mash and veg followed (possibly for supper, the portions are generous) by bread and butter pudding and custard.3
