bbq for dinner, Lidl meat free burgers in toasted brioche bund with fried onions (and a plastic cheese slice on mine) with potato salad. Seem to have run out of salad but avoiding the shops as much as possible with this mask malarkey so will just do without.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a joint of pork with my supermarket delivery and it turned out to be huuuuge, far larger than I would usually buy for just the two of us. So I cut it in half, and froze one chunk.

I’ve now defrosted that and it is simmering away in the slow cooker with onions, apple, mushrooms, chicken stock and cider. I’ll thicken up the cooking juice just before serving and add a small dollop of cream to it. Will be served with a little bit of mashed potato, and some garlicky courgettes and steam chard from the garden.

I’ve gone all retro with dessert again, this time it will be warm crepes suzette, with a scoop of hm vanilla ice cream.

Today's dinner is going to be chicken salad - it would have been yesterday, only the chicken was put in late so we decided to have shakshouka rather than have to eat at around 10pm. Dessert  will be pancakes from the freezer with stewed plums.

Lunch, I've decided, will be sweetcorn fritters with sweet chilli sauce
