Don’t blame you Kerri, I had the bright idea of popping into Lidl for some pastries this morning - absolute carnage, people were going mad.... so had toast 🤣

dinner is garlic and rosemary lamb steaks with dauphinois potatoes and spring greens, ginger sponge pudding and cream for after x fattitastic 🤣

grapes and Fat free yoghurt for lunch tomorrow to offsetting today 😉

Was late home from visiting family so stopped at the coop and grabbed a ready meal while getting milk. In hindsight a pasta based meal may have been an error....

We'll be finishing up yesterday's shepherd's pie for supper tonight - ooh, it was lovely. I put loads of diced veg in with the lamb mince (mushrooms, peppers, onions, carrots, parsnips, courgettes .... I had lots of YS veg bargains to use up!) and made it with a creamy topping of a swede and potato mix. It was proper comfort food, just what's needed. I've made a trifle for this week's puddings.

Was supposed to be meeting a friend for dinner tonight for her birthday because i was supposed to be away next week on her actual birthday day. Unfortunately she's not feeling too well (not the C-virus) so we will reschedule...along with most of everyone's social plans for the first half of 2020 it would seem.

So i cooked up a sausage casserole (packet mix I'm afraid) with onions,  beans, mushrooms and obv sausages.  I have prev bought the mix from asda and this was a lidl one i got and followed the asda recipe plus mishrooms. It wasn't quite as nice, there's an extra flavour i can't quite identify. However it hit the spot and if i keep portions to one sausage per portion it will do a good number of meals.

I was on holiday last week so just catching up now. Worst holiday ever as mum fractured her hip so spent the week in and out of hospital so food wise things have not been great either. Trying to get my dad nutritious meals is virtually impossible. Selfish pr1cks stockpiling. I managed to get some chicken breasts at the butchers this morning, so tonight I will do some sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry and something else to go in his freezer. The only veg I could get was baby corn – hoping to get some mushrooms or something tonight, then this can go in his freezer. I got some micro rice for him. Even a couple of fray bentos pies much to my disgust but I have to stop him going to the shops.

Il be fed fine as I still have my ‘winter’ draw in the freezer to work with and stuff in the cupboard.

This virus is an absolute nightmare

Ohh Klew, what a palarva, hope your mum recovers well x

Thai green chicken curry here with brown rice and samosas from freezer stash here tonight.

MIL 88 is really struggling to understand what’s going on, we cancelled Mother’s Day lunch at a local pub, and can’t offer to have her at home, and the kitchen area is still being revamped (the reason we booked out), she just isn’t getting the severity of the situation, apparently it’s all ‘stupid’ 🥴

I think your MIL sums up the entire situation pretty well  ;) There would be a lot less aggro and stress about this whole situation if people stopped stockpiling ridiculous amounts of food and other items and the press stopped sensationalist stories (but then that doesn't sell newspapers). Is she somewhere you could take a suitable takeaway or something perhaps for Mother's Day as Blitz style alternative?

Klew what a nightmare. I picked up a few bits for my mum today as she said shelves were bare last night - she's mainly excited I got her tissues lol! Thankfully most shops round here seem to be reasonably well stocked on most things bar pasta, tinned toms and the golden toilet roll. Are your local shops also out of tinned / frozen veg?  :(  I did chuckle in Lidl yesterday, it seemed the one thing that no one had touched was the pot noodles!
