Not really got time for dinner tonight as taking DM to the theatre as an early b'day treat. Still, after last week I can afford not to eat for a night..or several

  • The mince turned out to be a pearl barley something which I used with the chopped up bacon nd some onions and potatoes for a pudding basin type pie, some left for today and a lump of UFO (mince?) out with some rice. Has to be easy grab food because of my back at the mo.
  • A mushroom, stilton and cranberry puff pastry crown with new potatoes and steamed veg, green beans, peas, cauliflower and carrots followed by a blueberry and cherry cinnamon crumble with ice cream and then a coffee because both daughters and both new babies are coming to visit together and I felt like a celebration!

The celery soup was made so that’s lunches for a couple of days, good job its delightful!

Made a really simple but popular sausage casserole last night, rather using the packet mix tomato based, and throwing it in the oven, it was cooker top with onions potatoes and carrots simmering away in stock then the liquid thickened up at the end into a gravy – LO tonight again.

Craving a crumble so will make one possibly tomorrow night but it does require vanilla ice cream of which, I have none!
  • I had the leftover HM veggie soup for lunch.

I think I will make ratatouille tonight and have it with veggie sausages and steamed broccoli and carrots.

Trying to cut down, so weetabix for breakfast, cuppa soup and a slice of bread for lunch and sausage casserole with cabbage and some mash for dinner.

Snacked on a carrot, apple and mini bag of pretzels in the day.

Hmm...doesn't really sound like cutting down does it? But an improvement on the sugary breakfast cerrsals last week, rather larger than usual lunches and large dinners.
