Ugh, found weevils in the porridge oats I was planning on using up for breakfast this week before pay day. Oats gone out for the birds, cupboard in question emptied and cleaned, seems they'd only got into a box of lasagne sheets that were nearly finished so they've gone out. All other items briefly put in the freezer to ensure any lingering blighters have been nuked.

Dinner for me tonight is mash, breaded haddock and petit pois.

Counting the hours til pay day, managed to stock up on some instant mash, milk, RTC soda farts (breakfast tomorrow) and RTC rolls in Sainsbobs today. I cooked some Greek filo pastry things from Lidl yesterday to get them out of the freezer but they're just really not nice, had 2/4 for lunch today but not sure I can face the other two tomorrow. But I hate food waste...

We had beef casserole with beef pieces I found in the depths of the freezer and some frozen veg. mash from the last of the spuds from the sack I bought at the start of the month, it's lasted us well. Was yummy when it was so wet and miserable outside!

Made a beef jerk stew with rice & peas for dinner tonight. Took far longer to cook than I expected so dinner was much later than usual!

Bought some YS sweet potato fries yesterday (yes, could've prob bought the spud and made them myself for less but sometimes...). OH is going to have some with ...errr something (can't recall what he said :o) and I'll have some prob with a piece of breaded fish.

Pasta / rice cupboard re-packed after weevil-gate yesterday - although it has helped me see more clearly what we have in there and what should be used - spied some noodles and stir fry sauce so will try and get some veg for a stir fry when I do a shop. Want / need to try and shop smarter and buy things to help use up other stuff we have in, not just continually add to the cupboards.

Last night's beef jerk stew was really good. There's enough left for DH and I to have for lunch but will save for tomorrow as need a quick lunch. Will have with a jacket potato.

Tonight's dinner is Diet Coke chicken with mash & cabbage.
