Traveled home in air conditioned car, really couldn't believe how hot it was when we got out.
Had a Yorkshire fish, chips and mushy peas lunch possibly the best I've had.
Stopped at coop to get petrol on way home and looked at the reductions. I had a super greens salad, 42p. Husband had a cornish pasty 24p served with a tin of beans, daughter had southern fried chicken fillets 42p, and some potato salad 28p and a few cherry tomatoes.
Dog had some roast beef slices 48p.
We all had a bottle of lager (dog excluded)

Using up some mince and tomato sauce from the freezer. Have made meatballs with the mince and cooked them. So this evening it'll be meatballs in tomato sauce with some mash. Just needs reheating and make the mash.

My menu plan has gone a bit off course this week for a number of reasons (but largely because of the weather).

I have removed a package of something from the freezer to have this evening, but I stupidly hadn't labelled it so have no idea what it's going to be. It looks a bit like a chicken, potato and spinach curry but really it could be anything.

Freezer Surprise! Why won't I learn????

I used to do that too C J but I finally learned my lesson when I got out an apple pie for dinner thinking it was a minced beef & onion one!

Definitely a shock when we cut into it - have to say it only happened the once and now I label everything!

Nothing like that will ever happen again because I just don't make pies any more, LOL!

Tonight will probably be a takeaway of some kind, will see what hubby fancies later.

A couple of gin and tonics will definitely be had ;)

My runners have done very poorly this year - they're old seed so not sure if it's that. Had lots of flowers but not many translated into beans :(

Tonight we had battered cod, chips and peas from the freezer. DH calls this a "bung in the oven" tea!
