I have chicken thighs, potatoes, mushrooms & peppers in the slow cooker because the veg needed using.
But I'' probably postpone eating that until Saturday.

Instead we're having Italian and Spanish cold meats, including Iberico chorizo, with artisan bread and a range of olives and maybe some cheese.
And a bottle of chilled white wine.

  • Tonight we'll be having burger in a bun with hm spicy wedges, salad and onion rings.
  • Oh my goodness if I am awake still this evening to contemplate making anything at all it will be bean burgers, frozen chips and peas from the freezer. Back from Grandson sitting for a poorly 4 year old with a vomiting bug and a teething and very unhappy 15 month old who is a hefty lump and wanted picking up all the time until I had and then wanted to go down again. I am exhausted in a way that I can't recall having been before, at 70 it's getting to be much too much for me! Bits of me, particularly joints hurt so much it's hard even sitting still.

Whinge over, off for a nap!

We had lunch out today - very decadent, not very frugal, but the sun was shining so we thought "why not?" So our main meal was at lunchtime, and we both had scampi and chips followed by pistachio and raspberry tart with a flat white coffee. Yum! :p

Dinner tonight is the remains of yesterday's lunch, which was a hm puff pastry pie with salmon and ground elder, which tastes rather nice and is growing free in my garden, so much better than shop bought spinach! The pie was a hit - will definitely be making it again :T
