Have cycled today and wore a £1 base layer top underneath a £3 cycling jersey, cycling shoes were bought from ebay. After showering I dressed in Next sand coloured chinos and a George grey jumper with a knotted front and pointelle sleeves, both CS buys and the jumper was £1.

I too wore cs couture while exercising - the Simpsons converse trainers (Briefly! - they are at least half a size too small - a pity but...) then my trainers giving me a more flexible grip knife throwing. I do not appear to be getting any better but my tutor & spotter was engrossed in the New TV. Tomorrow, when the utter novelty has worn thinner, I shall request & require assistance.2

I had a brisk walk our high street today to go to Poundland.(mothers birthday net week needed a card & trinket). Annoyed to see donations outside 2 charity shops despite large notices on the doors saying do not leave stuff. We all know it will be discarded in case the local dogs have visited.3

I doubt any charity shop volunteers will be passing to take it in.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.4 -
I miss the charity shops.
It’s not just the finds, it’s the folks. The ladies who know I love my pots, who hang onto the seriously skinny suit for my skinny son, who croon when I stagger in with more bags of stuff as I’ve phoned ahead to check they want it.
Plus the husbands who find themselves dutifully operating the till (as the wives just finish something else) - I do hope they All are safe & happy & well & abundantly provided for with books & jigsaws, as well as food etc.5 -

For a lot of the volunteers it is a lifeline for them. I hope people are going to be sensible when they do open back up and not think they can off load skip loads of stuff that they have decluttered during the last few weeks. I've got two bags of clothes I've sorted out ready to go but I have separated them into seasons and will only drop the relevant one off, if they are packed to capacity I will hang onto them.

We miss our sessions in the charity shop, the people we work with, the lovely regular customers who have become friends, the 'buzz' of sorting through a sack of donations and getting them out into the shop, the routine currently missing from our lives, the banter and Pauline's excellent and frequently replaced cups of tea that appear wherever we happen to be working that day as regular as clockwork. I hope in the fullness of time we get it all back but not until it IS safe to both be there and be with the customers again.4

Yesterday, on face book one of the branches of the Hospice charity shop that we work in posted masks for sale at £3 each, home made ones, and home made by the loveliest lady who works with us on Wednesdays. She'd made 50 and they would post if needed too. What an innovative and so useful way to keep some funds coming in for the Hospice. We've ordered four of them and the manageress contacted to see what colour we'd like too, bless her. If these sell and are in demand our lovely colleague will keep making them for as long as demand is there, isn't that an uplifting thing in these uncertain and worrysome times WELL DONE FOLKS!8
