Does anyone know if CS will be able to open on the 15th june?3
-
Depends wholly on the shop, management chain & staff, I'd have thought.
I can't see it happening easily. We're fearsome protective of our children, of our vulnerable - and think of the numbers of those vulnerable who actually staff the shops - it will not be easy.3 -
Our rspca shop will open on 15th. The shop has been open for donations only this morning (booked time slots) and the shop was all marked out for distancing. We walked through to the stock room and deposited our bags. Great to see green shoots!7

So glad to hear CSS opening soon. I expect they will all be relieved for the extra income and I will be on the lookout for bargains. I babysit in Harrogate on Tues and pass 2 of them on my way to pick my granddaughters up from school. I find CS particularly good for glass. Glasses, trifle or fruit bowls, ourd’erves dishes (old fashioned I know, but useful) candlesticks etc.I once passed a man in the street wearing a jumper I had knitted for myself!5

I'm looking forward to having a browse around too. I've been donating to charities the last few months in lieu of spending in the shops, I also have three large bags of donations but I am going to hang on to them for a while after they open. The other weekend I heard a neighbour asking another neighbour if they wanted some books, he was saying he had bags for donating but was sick of hanging on to them and was binning them, (he has a large empty garage he could store them in), I am totally against throwing good stuff out so I yelled over the fence and now my garage is full of his bags, I sorted through all his tat (this was an eye opener as to what others think is worth selling), put some things into the rag donation bag, recycled some and some bits went in the bin, the worst thing was about 100 paperbacks he was going to throw away along with about 50 energy saving lightbulbs because he has changed to LED.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
